I’m very excited to be here today with another great kit from Lost Vape. Lost vape has come out with an entire line of Quest devices that are a great less expensive options to DNA devices for those that either can’t or don’t want to afford the higher price tag of DNA mods. Most recently was the Thelema Quest and like it the new Centaurus Quest BF Kit that I was sent for this review uses the Quest 2.0 chip. This same chip is used in the Cyborg, Ursa, and Grus. The Centaurus Quest BF kit uses a single 18650/20700/21700 battery and has a maximum output of 100 watts. It comes with a 9.5ml capacity squonk bottle and also a storage bottle so you can carry extra liquid with you if you don’t want to squonk. I think it’s a rather ingenious design. Also included in the kit is Lost Vape’s first RDA the Centaurus Solo RDA. It’s a single coil RDA that is very easy to build and provides good flavor for a single coil RDA.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging of the Centaurus BF kit is the white box with a nice picture on the front that I’ve become accustomed to seeing from Lost Vape. The back of the box lists the package contents but felt like it didn’t really explain that the 9.5ml liquid bottle listed is the bottle that is used to carry extra liquid if you are not squonking. The squonk bottle is also included and comes installed already in the mod.





Once opened the mod and rda are wrapped with a protective cover for shipping. I know I’ve mentioned this in other Lost Vape reviews but feel like it shows that they took a little extra care. The mod with the Solo RDA already attached sits in a plastic tray that is easily lifted out and all of the accessory items are found underneath. I thought it was a little odd that there weren’t any coils included but I have plenty of them on hand so installed a .35 ohm Clapton coil.



The new Solo RDA which is the first one from Lost Vape seems well built just like their mods are. It is a single coil rda which makes good sense to me since the mod has a maximum output of 100 watts. I’ve reviewed other kits where the rda included with a single battery mod was a dual coil and it drained the battery fairly quickly. This was a good move on Lost Vape’s part in my opinion.

I found the Solo easy to build and sufficient room to clip the coil leads once it was mounted. It came with the squonk center pin already installed which I appreciated since it is a squonk mod. The liquid comes through a hole in the center of the deck. I don’t have a lot of experience with squonking but found that I had to press the bottle and hold it a little longer in order to fill the base of the rda than what I had experienced in the past. I did a couple test runs with the top cap off to get a feel for how to squonk it.

The rda comes with a short drip tip which I changed out with a longer one which was a better fit. I just don’t feel comfortable with short tips. The top cap on mine was kind of difficult to turn so I would recommend lubricating the o ring with some liquid to make it easier to adjust the airflow. Also since it was difficult to turn, I found that the top cap seemed a little thin to get a good grip on to turn it despite the notches cut in it. The flavor production was pretty good for a single coil rda.



Like I mentioned earlier, I mounted a .35 ohm Clapton coil that was Ni80. I cut the tails a little long and just combed them out a little. I ended up running it in the mid 30 watt range. I struggled a little at first getting the airflow just where I wanted it. There are just two horizontal slots for airflow adjustment.

There are two airflow openings in the base that align with openings in the main barrel assembly that I believe is to direct the airflow down the bottom of the coil.







The Centaurus mod is very attractive in appearance in my opinion. The Centaurus uses the same Quest 2.0 chip as a few other Lost Vape mods. The display screen shows the following information.

- Battery level indicator with numerical percentages

- Mode of operation

- Set wattage

- Coil resistance and user record number

- Firing mode (Soft, Normal, Hard) and Puff counter

- Settings

- Puff counter

Once Settings is selected using the center button the following options are available.

- Atomizer

- Screen

- Color

- User

- Reset

- About

- Back



With this type of menu there is no need to remember different button combinations besides five presses of the fire button to turn the mod on and off. There are five modes of operation and one of them is TC-SS904 which is good since the .3 ohm coil can be used with that mode. Simply use the + or – buttons to highlight the mode and press the select button. Then you can use the + and – buttons to scroll through the five modes which are

- VPC

- Bypass

- Wattage

- Voltage

- Temperature Control(SS904/SS316/Ti/Ni) mode



As far as branding goes, there is the Lost Vape name on one side and Centaurus Quest on the other side. Rather than being on the screen side, the slanted fire button is on the same side as where the squonk bottle is exposed. I found the fire button very comfortable to use. I am normally a thumb firing person but with this mod the only thing that makes sense to me is to fire with the index finger with the beautiful leather portion resting against my palm.

The squonk bottle holds 9.5ml and is filled from the bottom. To me it’s a rather ingenious design where the squonk bottle simply slides out the bottom and the carry bottle can be inserted in the same way. The bottle can be bottom filled without removing it from the device. There is a small screw in cap that must be removed. I am not as agile as some so had a tiny bit of trouble holding onto the small cap and screwing it back in but with the large liquid capacity it’s not like I will be refilling it that often.







The bottles have a nice metal tip with o ring to help with a leak free connection. Below you can see the small cap for the bottle refill and also the battery cap which is pretty standard these days with a flip up lever and the cap threads in. The threads on both caps were very smooth. In the second picture you can see where the bottle makes connection inside the body of the mod.







The 510 connection plate is held in place by three torx screws and is large enough to comfortably hold a tank with a 26mm base. I’ve noticed on some tanks that the bases are actually smaller than the upper barrel of the tank. I think for a mod like this that 26mm is large enough to fit most commonly used tanks. In the center you can see the opening where the liquid is fed through to the rda if you are using a squonk rda.



FINAL THOUGHTS:

From the moment I opened the box, I fell in love with this mod. If I had been given a choice on which to review then I would have picked the exact one that I received. I’ve never been much of a squonk mod user in the past and have mostly just used them for reviewing rdas. This mod makes me want to use it.

From the tried and true Quest 2.0 chip that has been used in a handful of different mods to the visually attractive appearance and the feeling of a device that is quality made, the Centaurus Quest BF is a fantastic mod in my opinion. If you aren’t a squonk person then there is also a carry bottle included where you can carry extra liquid in the mod for your preferred tank. Also having the ability to use an 18650 or 21700 in the Centaurus is a plus. I’ve been really liking the battery life I get with the 21700 and the single coil rda.

The Centaurus Solo RDA is Lost Vape’s first release of an rda and I feel like they did a pretty decent job of designing and manufacturing it. There was some thought put into it with the airflow channels in the different parts of the body that direct the airflow inside the rda. I think it was smart sticking with a single coil rda for this device. I installed a .35 ohm Ni80 Clapton coil in the rda and was able to run in the low to mid 30 watt range comfortably. The airflow adjustment on mine was pretty tight but I am sure will loosen with time. I have come to prefer honeycomb airflow and kind of wish the Solo had it rather than the two horizontal slots. I had a little difficulty setting the airflow where I wanted it. Partially due to the tightness but also the top cap you turn to adjust it is a little short in my opinion and despite the notches cut in it I had a little trouble getting a grip on it.

Overall I think the Centaurus Quest BF Kit is a fantastic kit and would definitely recommend it to those that like this type of device. I was reading along and all of a sudden there was no end result. I wanted to reach out to him to see what was actually causing it because of the similarities to what is happening to me at the moment but his account wasn't seen since 2018.

Does anyone else have any information on this subject? I have found a test that was administered to mice in which the aerosol was sprayed around them and they developed fatty livers.

I used my vape to stop smoking and got addicted to the vape. Now until the doctor calls me with the results of blood work and ultrasound I am nervous to use it. Any information at all is helpful to me.

I've ordered from vaping.com many times and never had an issue. I used to think the company was great. I placed my order almost a month ago and it was supposed to arrive November 25th...but it hasn't moved from Illinois since November 22nd! Never moves and every day the delivery date just keeps pushed out further. Yesterday it said the 11th and today is says the 15th. There's no phone number to call and I've emailed support 5 times within the last few weeks and haven't received a single response! It's like customer service doesn't even exist! I'm not a reviewer and I actually purchased this, but as there's so little information on this amazing RTA I want to share my thoughts. So please expect to see the odd wonky coil!

Introduction:

This is a 25mm, short (40.6mm) single coil, bottom airflow, flavour banger. It has a capacity of 3ml with the straight glass, and 4ml with the bubble glass.

You have 3 options with the airflow plates. Wide-open DL with no plate, slightly restricted DL with the double barrel (2.5mm id x 2), or a smoother, tighter restricted DL with the honeycomb insert. The dual-sided honeycomb airflow inlets, give each of these options majorly smooth airflow. And you can fine tune it even more using the airflow ring.

The short chimney of this rta has an internal diameter of a generous 8mm 7mm. This adds extra airiness to the airflow options. But it also gives it an RDA style draw.

Filling is easily done with the half turn, click top cap. The fill ports are huge.



For those who love matchymatchy and 810 drip tips - you receive a variety of colour top sections, which screw into the 810 drip tips supplied.

First Impressions:

I absolutely loved the look of the RTA. I was surprised how short it was, and loved that it had such a short chimney. The airflow options impressed me. I took one look at the honeycomb insert, and went straight for the double barrel plate. It just looked more in line with my preferred draw.

The quality of this RTA also impressed me. The threads were all smooth as butter to use.

The deck however, is what impressed me the most.

Building:

My first build and wick, took only 10 minutes. From winding a coil, through to filling up the tank. This is what it looks like with the honeycomb insert, and a 3mm id GM Coils Alien (this isn't my photo!)



The parallel posts accept my puny ni80 30*2/40 wire with no issues. It's one of the easiest decks to build on.

I first tried a 2.5mm id ni80 30*2/40 8 wrap coil, using the double barrel plate. The wicking ports do seem to be designed for a 3mm id coil. I wicked it, cut the tails level with the o-ring, loosened up the tails and stuffed them in.

My first vape was sublime. This is my first deck with honeycomb airflow inlets, and I'm converted. It had fantastic flavour and the draw was so smooth. I kept this build in for a week, and loved every draw.

I then tried a 3mm id ni80 30*2/40 8 wrap coil:



This is where the Lethal RTA shines. More flavour, more vapour and it's even smoother. Using a gruntier coil than I do - will improves things even more.

My Final Thoughts:

From top to bottom this is a well thought out, and very well designed RTA. If I used one word to describe it, it would be SMOOTH. I love that it's not a finicky wicker, and it is surprisingly not a thirsty tank.

The airflow plates make it appeal to a much wider group of vapers. And the airflow plates can easily be changed with a wicked coil.

The smooth draw, along with the easy to build deck are my favourite features. But what I love the most, is the flavour it produces.

Hi everyone! It's been a while hasn't it? I've been doing very well. I'm working, I'm happy, I'm sleeping and eating well. I have missed this forum a lot!!

I've been nicotine free for just over a year now. It's been fantastic. I pick up a vape and enjoy it, sometimes I go on vaping for days or weeks, and then I kind of lose interest and let it go for days weeks or months.

Recently I've been experimenting with 0mg disposables. One in particular that I really enjoy is a Cylindrical device, inhale activated, and is just like holding a little cigar.

So now I'm looking for a Cylindrical Pod Device. It doesn't have to have a crazy battery life. 600-800mah is fine.

Greetings from Africa Sudan, I am relatively new to the Vaping world, I started my Vape journey one Year ago when my friend give me a Kyln M RTA Tank with a couple of bottles of E juice and I absolutely loved it, so I gradually start quit smoking and I now become solely Vaper and I will never go back to smoking again,
in my country, we do not have access to Vape products, e-Liquid, and wicking materials, that is why I started buying a lot of Vape supplies across the seas which it becomes increasingly difficult due to the international laws and restrictions imposed on the vape products
so far I stocked around 50 bottles of e juice around and 10 Tanks (sub-ohm, RTA, and MTL ) plus two pods systems, and a lot of wires and cotton, when selecting these items I read many online reviews before I commit to any product
I am a DTL vapor so most of my juice selection is around 70 % VG and I love the clouds that I am getting and the dense flavor as well, but the annoying issue that I am facing in all my Tanks is that I get a lot of E-Juice in my Mouth via air chemmeny which is ruined my vaping experience, I tried several Sub Ohm tanks (Geek Vape Zeus Z, Free Max Pro 2, Kylin V2 RTA, Zeus x RTA, Unwell Crown 5 ) tried to search online for a solution without any success , tried several recommendation but I always end up with sweet Ejuice in my mouth and my final conclusion there something wrong with the Ejuices that I am using, so now I am switching to MTL vaping with Ares V MTL and Voopoo Vinci X2 Pod kit, my second question is that which Ejuce liquid composition is suited for these devices (Ares v2 MTL and Voopoo Vinci X2 with pnp R1 coils ) my Ejuice stock is several bottles of Black note tobacco series (50% VG) and 25 % Salt Nic and I am wondering if it will work with the above setup kindly note that I do not like strong throat hit and preferred smooth vape

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They are not supposed to be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
Lishen is one of the large, established cell manufacturers in China (天津力神电池股份有限公司). This is a decent performing cell, about equal in performance to the Lishen LR2170SA at 5A and 10A. If staying above about 3.2V at 10A this cell is close to the Samsung 50E3 (not 50E!) but at 5A the Molicel M50A beats it by a little. They’re all fairly close though at 5A-10A and you probably won’t see much of a performance difference between them.

The cycle life rating in the datasheet is good but I have not tested it. In addition to the top vent this cell has a bottom vent which, in my opinion, should not be blocked or pressed against hard.

The two cells I tested delivered 4500mAh and 4539mAh. This is a little bit worse than the typical consistency I’ve seen for cells from one of the larger China cell manufacturers.
