I'm not new to vaping but getting back in to it. I'd given up vaping around early 2015, then around 2020 when lockdown hit been back on cigarettes. Went to my local vape store a week ago and bought an 'experienced starter kit'. Argus GT II mod and SMOK TFV18 with 0.15 coils.

Has much really changed or advanced over last 7 years? I was into unregulated mech mods, subohm, and making own coils. Used MNKE batteries back then which don't seem to be around now? Also fiding a lot of even the big vape stores don't stock 100% VG juice and this adding nicotine shots to juice is new to me.

Here's my restarter kit:

I have placed several orders over the past year with Element Vape and the packages always arrived quite quickly. However, I placed an order with them on July 30th and the package has yet to arrive. I don't know what carrier they are using and can't track my order (on a different site, someone said they use xdelivery, but that site didn't recognize my tracking number). When I click on "track package" in the email they sent me on August 1st, the latest update I have gotten has been:" August 3rd. Order has been received at the fulfillment gateway and is being processed" and to the right of that, it says "Westcoast Gateway" (whatever that means). There are no further updates after that. I googled this issue and there were countless posts of people saying their package was lost or it took a month for it to arrive. Everyone also said that when they try to contact Element Vape, they get an automated response that doesn't assist them. I really want my order, but I will never use Element Vape again. If anyone could shed some light on what may be going on, I'd love to hear it.

A seller I have bought from for many years has recommended me getting into the squonking scene (yet I know I'm a bit late) but because of my fear of building (that I no longer have), I'm a bit late to the game.

He recommended that I get the Lost Vape Centaurus BF Kit. I have reviews online about this and I'm getting mixed reactions. The biggest con I am seeing is that apparently the squonk section that slides into the mod, likes to slide out when using it and it has to be pushed back up in the mod on a regular basis.

Was wondering if anyone here has this mod and can confirm what I'm already seeing?

Also, if there is another squonk kit that you recommend (for dummies) please feel free to chime in!

Hello every one. Let me first state this mod in non operational will need to be sent in to limelight to be fixed. The issue is with the wiring. One of the wires that goes to the removable 510 is messed up from taken to 510 on amd off of the mod. Allso one of the 510s is missing an insulator it in from being taken apart. Has 2 x 24mm 510s i do not remember which one is missing the part. The mod and both 510s will need to be sent in to be fixed which they will do for free i honestly just do not want to deal with it. My loss is your gain. I beleive this with every thing was around 500 new.

Now to the mod and what is included. One free hand gloom with ram mosfet, 2 x 24mm 510s one red, one black. 2 x thumb fire triggers one red one black. 2 x bottle covers for the bottom of the mod, one batterie cap, 2 new limelight bottles, 1 used bottle with complete cap. Love these bottle had many more for other sqounks. The body of the mod is engraved front and back by limelight them selfs. Back is a. Criss cross scale type pattern, with blue over it. front has religous scripture engraved in it to relax my brain. It reads. the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10

This was a daily carry for a couple years, is one of my favorite mods of all time, went every where i went no issues untill the wire simply from use and taken apart from cleaning it. Im sure wire could be fixed easily by some one but 510s can not be used with out the missing insulator put back in.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


Starting with packaging which is a simple box with a transparent clear plastic centered showing the Blaze RTA, opening the box reveals the Blaze that is shipped with the 2ml straight glass pre-installed and the bubble glass tube sitting above it. All your spares of O-rings, post screws of which you get both Allen and Flat head, 2 coils, 2 Allen head drivers of which 1 is for the post screws and the other is for the 510 pin, coil cutting measurement tool, warranty card, and the user manual. Everything you need to use the Blaze is provided except for your wicking material.

I was sent the Silver Black version that highlights a engraved flame in Silver on the outer barrel of the RTA that has gives it a very attractive appearance IMO. I'm glad that a straight glass tube was included because I think straight glass tubes looks better than a bubble although a bubble increases the juice capacity to 5.5ml from the 2ml straight glass and being a dual coil RTA I know I will be installing the bubble glass for less refilling.





I always tell you to break down any new atomizer and clean it before using to remove any trace elements of machine oil or other debris left on during the manufacturing process. I've disassembled the Blaze fully for a hot bath in soapy water and positioned and labeled each piece for any new builders reading my review.





Pictured in place is the inner barrel that is inserted in the outer barrel, as I showed you above the inner barrel is removable and can be placed on the deck and then inserted into the outer barrel when reassembling but I feel it's easier to just pop the inner barrel inside the outer barrel. Inner barrels have been used before on many RTA's and their purpose is to channel the airflow from the top down the cut out sides to the build deck.





Many manufacturers that use a inner chamber have a fitting that connects very sloppy on the build deck such as many Geekvape RTA's that use the inner barrel chamber causing airflow to be choppy and less smooth. As you can see Thunderhead Creations and Mike Vapes made the connection tolerances very tight sealing and well fitted to the build deck with no wiggle or slop of movement of the inner barrel improving airflow smoothness.





We now arrive to the star of the show being the build deck that has honeycomb airflow from the sides and bottom, there is also slotted airflow from the bottom. Airflow surrounds the coils 270° hitting them at every angle possible. Airflow smoothness can also be attributed to the downward slope of the 2 top air channels. Being somewhat of a floating deck there is some distance of wick tails, wicking slots are nice sized for your tails to sit in.





I used everything included in the box while testing the Blaze including the 2 provided coils that Ohm out to .045Ω apiece and the coil cutting measuring tool that is marked for your coils placement which is 5mm with a arrow pointing up.





Being that the "WOW" build deck as Thunderhead Creations calls it is post less makes it a very easy one to build on, simply unscrew the post screws and drop the coils in. With a coil rod of 3mm position the coils and tighten down the screws. After glowing my coils slightly getting all hot spots removed having then glowing from the inside out, my build came in at 0.22Ω.





When wicking the coils leave them a little long because you will want to rake the tails thinning them a bit, then cut the excess and place the tails in the wicking slots but don't stuff them in tightly. Saturate the coils and tails with juice and bed the coils in.







I decided on a mod that I recently reviewed as the new home for the Blaze RTA because it has replaced another RTA that was in my personal rotation, I think it looks good atop the Gaur 18 mod with it's color changing diamond patterns on both sides.

FINAL IMPRESSIONS


I'm going to cut to the chase right away and tell you that the Blaze RTA is a big time WINNER! Having a easy to build on deck with plenty of airflow using both side as well as bottom honeycomb and slots that surround the coil 270° is one of the big pluses.

Fantastic flavor is another big plus and the most important one to me, I used a fruit juice that I know very well and all the flavor came through just as I know it. With all the airflow you would think the Blaze is a air machine but it's not so over powering with airflow that you could breathe through it, I think the airflow gives the big air users plenty of air.

I like it with 1/4 of the airflow selector closed down from fully open for a great RDL vape. Thunderhead Creations provides everything you need except a wicking material in the package contents.

I recommend the Blaze RTA 100%. In the beginning of my review I told you about a code you can use to get the Blaze at a discounted price of $23.19 if purchased at Sourcemore and the code for it is BLAZR.

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
This is a good performing cell at lower current levels. It tested well at 5A, essentially equaling the Sanyo NCR18650GA and performing almost as well as the Molicel M35A and Samsung 35E3. At 10A it doesn’t do quite as well, about the same as the EVE 33V. Check my 18650 Ratings and E-Scores table (link below) to see how well this cell performed against others.

The cell’s wrap says “CONTINUOUS DISCHARGE 10.5A” but the Imren datasheet lists this as a 10A cell for up to 25°C ambient temperature. The extra 0.5A was added for marketing purposes? I guess the reason why is unimportant, in my opinion it’s unacceptable to play with ratings like that.

What bothers me is that the datasheet says this cell needs to have its current rating lowered if it’s used at temps higher than 25°C, which can happen in almost any device and especially in a battery pack. This derating should probably happen for all cells but the datasheet for this cell explicitly calls this out. Calling this a 10A (or 10.5A) continuous cell is not realistic IMHO for typical uses.

The wrap also says “3500mAh 30A”. Imren has told me that 30A is a “max” rating and is what they feel it can handle and is a guide for vaping use (where it gets pulsed). But this cell dropped to about 3.2V when pulsed for two seconds at 30A. This is too much voltage sag for a cell being rated at 30A “max” and I’m sure it affects the cell’s cycle life too.

Considering its performance and the required temperature-dependent derating I recommend staying at 7A or lower. You’ll get decent performance at that level.

Cell-to-cell performance consistency (four cells) was pretty good but not as good as cells from the big manufacturers. I don’t think you would notice the difference though.

These Imrens tested out at 3506mAh and 3514mAh, (barely) meeting their 3500mAh rating. I have not tested the cycle life of these cells.

Imren has told me that they are committed to using accurate ratings and are even willing to get rid of the high pulse/burst/max ratings on the wrap. This is great to hear but we will have to see what happens. It will take time for Imren to redo the wraps and get them into distribution though.

I don't visit the forum as much as I used to and my posts are few and far between. I dusted off my dead rabbit a couple days ago. Had it for almost 5 years now. Wrapped up a couple coils and got it all working. It's sitting on top of my drag 3. Yes, dripping on an RDA is still kinda a PITA, but it still works famously. Nice flavor. Very nice. What happened was, my go to fireluke 2 coil got bad in the night and I couldn't go get another right away. So I dug around in my box of tricks and came across the rabbit. Enjoying it enough that I still haven't replaced the coil on the fireluke. Just might do that today if I can convince myself that it's necessary. The takeaway here is, always have a plan B. Long live the Rabbit.
