Greetings once again and welcome to today's review of the next evolution of the Argus GT as well as a a new version of the MAAT Tank from Voopoo. Both the mod and tank have a new design with some big upgrades to their predecessors which are proven winners. The Argus GT 2 has taken a different route than the original being a IP68 rated device making it a dustproof, shockproof and waterproof device able to withstand the harsh elements outdoors while still looking like a mod that you would want to pamper. First off let me introduce you to the new features of the 1968 rated Argus GT 2 Kit by Voopoo then I will give you my impressions of this kit in my review.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


First off I have to say that the presentation of the Argus GT 2 Kit is great with a outer cardboard sleeve with most of the features printed on it, inside the cardboard sleeve is a attractive metal case with Argus Outdoor embossed on the top cover.

The original Argus GT Kit came in a nice case as well but it was plastic, the bonus of a case such as these is you now have a storage solution for various vape items such as coils, cotton, screwdrivers, cutters etc.





Inside the case is a pre-formed plastic insert that all of the Argus GT 2 contents rest in with the user manual laying on top. I was sent a sample version from Voopoo but I don't see them changing anything on the final retail version as far as the kit presentation.

Your charge cable and 2 coils are in the accessory box located at the top, the 2 coils are the DM3 - 0.15Ω Mesh rated for between 80-100w with a best setting of 85-95w and the DM2 - 0.2Ω Mesh rated for between 40-60w with a best setting of 50-55w.

The first word out of my mouth was WOW and I didn't even pick the device or tank up yet.

Seeing the metal skeleton of the device and knowing it was IP68 rated I thought it was going to be a heavy mod but it's not overly heavy without batteries.

Rubbing my hand across the spine that looks like a woodgrain leather but had more of a grippy rubber feel to it with some cushiony give as well, it feels great in the hand either finger firing or using your thumb. The Argus GT2 name is lightly embossed on the spine.

As you can see in my opening photo the Argus GT2 is a real looker of a device.





Starting at the top with the new design of the Maat that has a nice 6.5ml capacity I like the new look except for the bottom of the base that has a rounded off look, it works as far as a match for the mod but it would have looked even better if the base had a flatter bottom, installing the tank there is a miniscule gap to protect the finish on the top plate of the mod.

There are 2 airflow slots 180° from each other with 2 airflow controls between them, the airflow controls are not independent of each other, adjusting 1 adjusts the other as well. The 810 drip tip has 2 O-rings on it with a metal base and is comfortable on the lips and looks good as well.

The coils are a push and pull type with no flat spots needed to be lined up, just prime the coil, push it into the tank and screw on the base.





I'm happy with the top fill of the Tank having a easy 1/4 opening making refills a little quicker, as shown in the photo above the top cap has knurling in 3 spots.

There are 2 fill ports that have a silicone covering with a tiny hole that open when a juice bottle tip is pushed in then seal back up once it's removed, I have had a no mess experience filling the Maat tank in the time I've used it.





Turning our attention to the Argus GT 2 mod's top, the 510 pin is spring loaded with a good amount of travel and fit the various atomizers that I screwed on. There is a raised cover that slides open covering the Type-C charge port, below the charge port is a step-down of silicone rubber ledges that give a nice accent to the device in my opinion.







Being a dual 18650 device as most devices do batteries are loaded into the device via a battery door located on the bottom of the Argus GT 2. This is normally a week spot for devices that use this type of system but the battery door's opening/locking switch is very strong with no play in the door when opened, the spring is very solid and I see this lasting without any problems occurring. The same silicone material that the top plate has surrounding also surrounds the bottom as well.





Opening the battery door shows correct battery polarity symbols of + (plus) and - (minus) on the gold plated battery door contact points but there is no markings inside the battery tubes, notice the large rubber O-ring surrounding the door cover plate.





I was happy to see a nice sized display screen with vibrant and vivid colors but I wish the font size was a little larger, having 6 power modes including TC should make every type of vaper happy, I've tried all power modes except for TC because I don't use it in my personal vaping and have no TC metals to make a coil in another atomizer to test the TC function out and since I don't use it I couldn't give you a correct finding on the TC function anyway.

Each power mode has it's own dedicated color with 1 color designated for all TC metals.

Using the menu is very easy because you only have to use 1 button combination to enter the menu and make all your adjustments outside of wattage or temperature adjustments.

LOCKING SWITCH

At the bottom of your up and down adjustment buttons is a locking switch that locks the entire device including the fire button for safe carry in a pocket or handbag without having to turn the device off with the standard 5 presses of the fire button. ( Great Feature )




FINAL IMPRESSIONS AFTER USING THE ARGUS GT 2 KIT





It's been a joy using the new Argus Gt 2 Kit, I reviewed the original Argus GT Kit when Voopoo first released it and liked it so much I bought 2 additional kits and they are still in my personal rotation of devices so I know the Argus GT very well.

The new Argus GT 2 mod is a bit thicker and heavier than the original but because it sports a IP68 rating that's to be expected and I really like the new design. With it having a chrome skeleton it is a fingerprint magnet but not as much as some devices using chrome.

Whatever the material is on the spine looks good and feels great in the hand, as I said earlier it feel like a rubber surface that gives a grippy feel to the device. The device is solidly constructed and feels like a IP68 rated device should feel. I have not tortured the device to see how well it would hold up because it's to beautiful of a device to damage the outside to prove it's capability, but I did check it's waterproof claim at it passed the test.

Having such a simple and easy menu is a big plus as well, needing to press only 2 buttons to enter the menu without having to remember different button combinations will make everyone happy. The buttons all feel good with no rattle, the fire button has some play that when the device is shaken can be barely heard but I'm not in the habit of shaking my mods during normal use so it's fine, besides this is a sample version and not the final retail one. I hope that more selections other than a puff clear will be included in the final version though.

The lock switch works great and is a feature that I wish all devices had because of the ease of flicking a switch and stowing away in a pocket safely.

I have noticed 2 glitches with the sample version though, the first being that the batteries don't discharge at the same rate in the battery % screen, 1 is always less than the other when vaping, I haven't noticed any change in performance but I did want to mention it.

The 2nd glitch is with the puff counter not keeping the correct number of vapes when a battery change is performed, it always displays a different number count than what it should be. Other than the 2 glitches that I've mentioned the device performs great.

It seems like the trend now days on tanks is to have MASSIVE AIRFLOW and the Maat Tank follows with that trend. Massive airflow is fine as long as you are able to decrease it without any turbulence, whistle or funny sound when you do and I'm happy to report the Maat Tank can be closed down to a very good RDL vape without the mentioned sounds occurring. Airflow is smooth at any setting you choose. Both the provided coils produce very good flavor with the 0.15Ω being more in my style of warmth. Using the 0.15Ω 80 watts was all I needed to produce very good flavor, using the 0.2Ω coil I liked it at 52 watts and saw no need to increase wattage.

My personal opinion on the Argus Gt 2 Kit is that it's a win win for both the mod as well as the tank for performance with a big win on the appearance of the mod. I like the Maat Tanks appearance as well but would have liked it even more if the base was flat at the bottom but because of it's performance I can overlook that, besides it's just a cosmetic preference of mine to have a flat bottomed base.

OMG WAIT!! I unscrewed the tank and just wiped it off and it's working fine now. .... Sorry. Should I just delete this post?

I have these single mesh Valyrian 3 coils, it's been working beautiful. No burning or nothing, great flavor. BUT. For the second time now, after nearly the same amount of use.
The screen goes into sleep mode, and when I click the button it says "atomizer short" then I hit it again and it's totally fine. I installed it just a day ago. As long as the screen is on, it works fine. Soon as it hits sleep mode, I get the atomizer short. I installed the coil nice and tight, ensuring that I wouldnt have to take it back apart. Like. For real. Is there something wrong with my mod? Is this a fluke? It seems to work fine after the message clears, but it's annoying.

I dont know if this matters but, its. .32 ohm coil. Idle it reads .29-.30. when I hit it, it reads .34-.36 that's normal right? Lol sorry I'm such a noob.

I went to the mall to check out this vape stores tanks, and I thought it was a little too expensive, but he had these for sale for just 5$ each. On the back the prices are like 50$-65$. I just got them cause they were pretty cheap. What do I have here?

Last things I'd messed with was mounting and actuator crap for the first smart pwm board on shapeways, with the STL. The liability part of the rules read as though doing so here would bring about a quick ban, as is. Is that correct or no?

Im a fan of the multi-flavor juices, rather than just single fruit flavors. I prefer mentholated too. I really like the sadboy flavors I got so far. the iced punch flavor, it literally tastes like a berry pink lemonade, and I just picked up rainbow blood ice. I like it, but I have absolutely no idea what the flavor is. I definitely get guava, but it's very interesting. I like these type of juices. I'm now getting hints of banana and pineapple in this one too...and...maybe mango and for some reason.. carrot. Lol I thought this one was funky at first, but dang it's got a very nice multi flavor mix.

This is in the red colorway but I would honestly describe it more as like a pink purple hybrid or even a pink blue hybrid as far as the resin goes. They're calling this an RTA section but it's an RBA Of course it also takes the free max fire luke coils. Sadly I do not have any of those to include those that came with it have been used but you can always do the dual coil RBA which is fantastic. I have another one otherwise I'd probably keep it even though I don't like dual coils. $27

Asmodus Dawg Rta
This is a dual coil RTA in my opinion it doesn't really function well as a single coil Even though it is a postless deck the way the airflow goes the coil would have to be obnoxiously large in order for it to work as single coil so this is truly a dual coil RTA it's fairly basic but it works well if you like dual coils. It is in gold. $13

Dead Rabbit Rda
This is a classic I think almost everyone had one of these at one point. This does have a 510 adapter but it comes with an 810 drip tip. It is a dual coil postless deck But it does have a single coil airflow option however there is no block to close down the chamber. So it would be in single coil configuration one-sided airflow but would not reduce the chamber. Not much to say everyone is familiar with this RDA it's solid it's just a dual coil favorable RDA which is not favorable for me. Squonk pin and solid. $20

Aquamaster RTA V2
This is an RTA that can be used both direct lung and mouth to lung It comes with two different sets of drip tips as well as interchange of airflow. I can't explain exactly how it works but there are reviews. It has all of its parts minus maybe a coil if it came with one.

UD Bellus RTA
This is a dual or single coil RTA that has a block to put in to reduce the airflow in single coil that also reduces the size of the chamber rather than just blocks off one side of airflow. Has all of its parts I may have used one of the coils that it came with. But there's still one in there.

Smok TFV4 mini RBA included
It has all of its parts other than one coil but I will include five unused coils with it. It also has a RBA included in it that came with the kit. The drip tip for this is unusual It does take a 510 so you can use your own and I would suggest it. Dt has a glass interior and then a metal exterior it's a two-part drip tip and the bottom of the drip tip has an airflow option. I believe when they manufactured it they put it on upside down so you can only access part of the drip tip airflow and the airflow ring for the drip tip isn't the smoothest to move but the tank itself airflow is fully functional.

Wotofo Ice 3 (cubed) RDA dripper
This is a dual coil RDA that comes with both a wider board drip tip and a 510 drip tip and adapter. It is square. They named it appropriately because it does remind you of a ice cube.

Aspire Quad Flex survival kit (nautilus x)
This is a little bit of everything! It is a RDTA that converts into a RDA with either a solid or a squonking pin but can also become a Nautilus X commercial coil tank complete with coil. I have never converted it the coil is brand new. It also has a frosted glass that came with it. It literally does everything and it has all of its parts. This is a neat item. There are other kits similar to this that don't have all of the options available. This has everything. I almost want to keep it just because it's cool but I don't use it.

Hello and welcome. I’m back today with another review for Hellvape. This time I’ll be taking a look at the new Hellvape SERI RDA. It’s nice to see a company coming out with something a little different and in my opinion inventive. The Seri isn’t your normal single/dual coil rda. The name Seri I believe comes from the word series. It has the deck configuration so that it has the coils in series rather than parallel like every other rda I’ve tried. So you might wonder what that means. Well, it means that the coil resistances are added instead of divided. On a normal rda or rta if you put in two .4 ohm coils then your final resistance would be .2 ohms. On the Seri rda if you put in those same two .4 ohm coils then your resistance would be .8 ohms. The fun doesn’t end there. The Seri can be used in not only dual coil configuration but has a third set of posts where you can run three coils. The lower the resistance the better when running triple coils. The Seri is 26mm in diameter at the base and has about a 6mm deep juice well. It offers fully adjustable honeycomb airflow which I very much like and can withstand wattages up to 200 watts. Let’s take a look at some promotional images and what’s included then I’ll give my opinions on it.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the SERI is nice and what I’ve become used to seeing from them with the gray and red box. On the front is the Hellvape name along with SERI and in the background is a speedometer that goes up to 200 indicating what is printed below which is “ Super Power RDA up to 200W”.

On the back of the box is a list of features of the Seri, the contents of the box, and company information. This one came with quite a bit of stuff as I’ve found with other Hellvape tanks that I’ve reviewed. They always send a good assortment of items with the tanks. This one came with three .2 ohm coils, three shoelace cotton strands, short circuit connector, BF pin, coil cutting tool, flat head screwdriver, and allen wrench to change the BF pin as well as extra o rings and grub screws.



I was actually sent two rdas for the review which came in very handy. One was the black in the earlier picture and the other was gunmetal. This allowed me to set up one with the triple coil configuration and a dual coil configuration in the other.

The Seri has a really nice quality feel to it. It is made of stainless steel and comes with a Delrin drip tip that does not have o rings on it. Instead there is an o ring in the top cap that holds the tip in place.

The Seri is about 39mm in height and has a base diameter of 26mm. It breaks down into four parts for easy cleaning. The Delrin drip tip has a 15mm bore tapering down to about 10mm. It’s a little tall I would guess to help keep heat away from the mouth but with three coils running in it you don’t really want to chain vape it very long.

The outer airflow cap has a heat sink to help reduce heat and also looks nice in my opinion. On the front of the outer cap is the SERI logo etched into it and on the each side there are five diagonal airflow slots. The outer cap slides over the inner airflow cap and locks into place using the two tabs inside.





The inner cap has 13 honeycomb airflow holes on each side that align with the outer cap once installed and is adjustable but does have a stop thanks to the slots in the inner cap. As I mentioned earlier the inner cap has an o ring inside the top that holds the 810 drip tip in place. The inner cap then slides over the build deck and there are two tabs in the inner cap that allows you to lock it down on the deck.





The build deck has six posts. The two outside sets are the same height while the center set of posts are raised. The build deck is very friendly to use and easy to build on. I think it’s rather obvious when using three coils that one coil goes in each set of posts. However, remember that the coils are in series so the sum of the three coils will be your total resistance and it is recommended to use lower ohm coils less than .3 ohm. The deck has two o rings that securely hold the inner cap to the deck. I am able to pick up a dual coil mod by the rda and have had no slippage.





When building with dual coils it is necessary to use the short circuit connector. In my business we would call it a jumper link. Both do the same thing with a different name. The connector must be installed in the center set of post with a coil on each side. The idea behind this is that the connector will have near zero resistance so the total will be the sum of the two outside coils.



The Seri rda can be used in either two or three coil configuration. However, there are some stipulations that should be met if using three coils. The following are guidelines for using the rda in three coil configuration.

As a triple coil RDA with series coil design, some requirements for the mod in use:

1. Recommend to use dual battery high wattage box mod,

2. Recommend to use the low resistance coils less than 0.3Ω each coil.



To get the best atomization effect of 200W, please make sure your box mod support 200W and can be boosted to 12V



The following mods are not recommended:

a. Mechanical Mods

b. Single Battery Box Mod



Note: Using inappropriate mods may lead the dissatisfied atomization effect due to the insufficient power.



FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have been doing reviews for Hellvape for a little while now and it’s been one great tank after another. Like other tanks I’ve tested from them, the Seri just seems like a real quality built item.

I built one of the rdas with the triple coils and was able to withstand the vapor up to a little over 100 watts but after just a few puffs the vapor was warmer than I like it. I have heard of people running this rda much higher and after all it is rated for 200 watts. I don’t think I have a mod that has 12 volt output so did not want to try to push it too hard. I ended up running the triple coil set up on a dual 18650 Thelema 200 and found my preferred wattage with the included coils reading .61 ohms at 88 watts. At this setting it takes one or two puffs to get the coils up to temperature but for prolonged use it was a good fit for me.

The second Seri was built with two of the .2 ohm coils and the short circuit connector installed and was reading .42 ohms. This was my favorite out of the two builds. I also installed the squonk pin on this one and ran it at 55 watts on a Centaurus BF mod. This mod is a single 21700 rated for 100 watts.

The flavor produced from both builds was very flavorful. Of course the triple coil build produced more and denser vapor but even running a 3mg liquid it was a bit much. The dual coil build is more what I like and the flavor produced was very good and on par with my favorite rdas. I did notice when chain vaping the triple coil build that the tank did get rather warm even running at 88 watts. The temperature was not noticeable with the dual coil build.

It is refreshing to get a newly designed innovative tank like this. This tank is not for the MTL crowd. If you like big clouds of vapor and very good flavor then this is a good one for that and I would definitely recommend it for the high output cloud chucker crowd.
