Vaporesso xros mini is nice and small pod device, since it is very small it is comfortable for using in my opinion. This device comes in package where you will receive one pod. Pod comes in few different colors and you have really nice choice. Build quality is good and in my opinion this version is better than previous one.

8WSzMee.jpg

So with this device you will receive one pod with 2ml capacity which is really good for small device like this one. This device is compatible with pods from previous version which is really good. From the top side you can see the mouthpiece and mouthpiece is realyl comfortable for using. To fill the pod you need to take off the mouthpiece and when you take it off you can see the fill hole, you can fill it pretty much easy. From the bot of the pod you can see magnets and magnets are good, pod stays really nice in place on this device. For this device you can buy two different pods, you can buy 1.2ohm pod and 0.8ohm mesh pod, in the package you will receive 1.2ohm coil.

On the top of the device you can see slot for the pod and as I said pod stays really nice in place. Also you can see here airflow hole. I would like to say that everything here is done really good which is nice because condensation will not get inside the device. This device is without fire button, but it has draw automatic switch that works really well. This device has built in 1000mah battery which is better than on previous device. On the device you can see usb c port which is great and you can charge the battery pretty much fast. On the device you can also see led light which is battery indicator, we have green light here which means that battery is full, blue light that indicates medium battery and red light that shows that battery is empty. This device has constant working mode which is really good and it works at 11 or 16w depends on the coil you are using.

My thoughts:

So, vaporesso xros mini is in my opinion better device than previous one, this device is pretty small, comfortable for using and build quality of the device is good. This device comes in package where you will receive only one cartridge which is con in my opinion. Mouthpiece is comfortable for using and you can fill the pod really fast and easy. Pod also stays really nice in place and everything here is done really well. Capacity is 2ml which is really good for small device like this one. We don't have airflow adjustment here but airflow is great, with 1.2ohm coil you will get restrictive mtl draw. I didn't try 0.8ohm coil here. Draw activated switch works really well and it is responsive. Battery is also good, 1000mah battery. We have usb type c port and we can charge the battery really fast. In my opinion 1.2ohm coil works really good, I like pods from vaporesso because draw is really tight and good and flavor is also good. All in all, if you are searching to buy simple yet very good pod, I can suggest you this one.

Cons:

- Only one pod in the package

Pros:

- Small and comfortable
- Good mouthpiece
- Easy to fill
- Very good airflow
- Good flavor
- Slot is done well
- 1000mah battery
- Usb c port
- Good draw activated switch
- Battery indicator
- Compatible with pods from previous device

Thanks VAPORESSO

The Innokin COOLFIRE Z80 with Zenith II Kit Review by Uncle

Well Now – Originally this review for the Innokin Coolfire Z80 and Zenith II was started and supposedly to be post quite awhile ago; however there had been an interruption midway through writing the review due to unforeseen circumstances – a visit to the Emergency Room and a stay at the Hospital – I wasn’t able to complete it at the time. So after recouping somewhat and back in the game, I thought I would complete it as it was first written, add some of the finishing touches, and post the review. I hope you will find it informative, interesting and even humorous now given some of the content . . . So without further ado . . .

The Innokin COOLFIRE Z80 with Zenith II Kit

Zzk4IOi.jpg

First - The Disclaimer: I am not a professional writer, nor professional reviewer of any products/product lines. Over the past few years - the only reviews or suggestions I have made were at the time which I believed I could provide information or add something to the conversation. What’s more important, anything I said was – or will say, is – “My” Personal Opinion . . .

BTW: As usual when testing any vaping equipment I use my ADV of Unflavored 50/50 24 NIC w/Koolada (sometimes 1-2 Drops of “Menthol Crystal Liquid) added to provide a "Cooling" Menthol effect. Also, I evaluated any equipment based on “My” experiences after using numerous different products for the past 9 years, first as a dual user then becoming a full-time vapor 2 years ago.

By now people know, I do not just jump on a product to just write a review without taking the time to actually test it fully – anywhere from a week, possibly 2 or 3 weeks or even more . . . So - For anyone interested in a more formal description and specifications about this product should check these links about the Innokin - COOLFIRE Z80 with Zenith II Kit:

NOW ! ! !

Now back to the review . . .

First impression:

When I opened the box, I wasn’t sure I actually got an Innokin COOLFIRE . . . At first; as an owner of previous versions of Innokin’s Coolfire line of products - I noticed this Coolfire was different immediately. If it wasn’t for the “Innokin” & “Coolfire Z80” imprints on either side of the “metal” alloy banding I would not have known. That was until I took a much closer look and took my time checking everything out and putting this Coolfire Z80 thru its paces.

hlb39R0.jpg

I found the Coolfire Z80 just slightly smaller in height visually and lighter in weight in feel then previous Coolfires. But every bit the same in quality and design as previous models.

WD5O5Nd.jpg

The appearance of this Coolfire Z80 (Ash Grey) is very easy on the eye and quite elegant looking overall. With the contrasting slick alloy metal frame, glossy smooth screen/control area, and “suede” wrap of the Coolfire feels and fits very well in the palm of my hand – very comfortable. And top it off with a matching “Gun-Metal” tank (preferably the New Zenith II that comes with the kit). IMHO – it’s a Mod “dressed to the nines” even if you are not. More importantly, like many of the Innokin products you do not have to assume it is a quality product by just looking at it – because once you start using it you will notice it is quite solid and well made. Which brings me to the actual operation of the Coolfire Z80 . . .

However - First and Foremost, before I get into any of the “nitty-gritty” , I would be remised if I did not mention – without a doubt – read the instructs and “Warning & Safety” booklet that comes with the Coolfire Z80, especially the warning concerning “Pace Makers” . . . Just Sayin’. It should also be noted, that an external “FLAT-TOP” 18650 battery is NEEDED to use the Coolfire Z 80.

Now with that out of the way, even if you have used any version of a Coolfire before, the Coolfire Z80 is a different mod and a little more than you might expect with the 4th Generation Vaping Technology incorporated to the function of the MOD (see Coolfire Z80 details & spec’s). The same can be said about the New Zenith II tank with its improvements (which will be discussed later in the review). This can be a very good or bad thing depending on your perspective and what you want from a MOD and/or Tank.

Now, as for an actual test using the COOLFIRE Z80 with the new Zenith II and putting them thru their paces . . .

Really like that the Coolfire Z80 uses a replaceable external 18650 Battery. I found the Coolfire Z80 quite easy to use, whether or not you have Coolfires previously; the fire button, + up - down controls and usb are locate on the LC Screen and are very accessible. Even the Menu options are bright and clear when outside in direct sunlight. Everything you would expect from a quality Innokin product.

Personally I was determined to “Test” the Coolfire Z80 as it was sent, using the 4th Generation Vaping Technology at 80Mz & 10 Watts and the Zenith II 0.8 ohm mesh coil preinstalled.

Filled the new Zenith II with my ADV and set off for a new experience. YEA – Right . . . Let’s just say within 3 hours, the “Fo” was switched to “Power”. Let me explain . . . When the “Fo” Technology is activated I feel a slight “Current”/”Vibration” running through the vapor when inhaling – it’s unsettling to me to say the least - just as it was the first time I tried using the “Fo” mode in the Innokin Sensis. Now don’t get me wrong, I am sure for some people they may not notice, but I did. The other thing is I really don’t NEED to use the “Fo” mode – I neither use a strong e-liquid flavor that would “junk-up” a coil or to use it to possibly enhance the flavor of an e-liquid. NOR – To extend the life of the Z-Coils. AS almost everyone knows by now is that the Innokin coils I use, including the Z coils & Sceptre coils already last "Me" anywhere from 60-90 + days each (approximately 3 months before having to change out). Also I have an Ultra Sonic Cleaner that I use when NEEDED to refresh coils to reuse later. The new "Fo" technology (including the Coil + & Refresh options), while may be a great option for those who use flavored E-Liquid, especially one that “gunk’s-up” coils, in reality does nothing to improve the coils/vapor and my vaping experience in the long run

However, once I got the Coolfire Z80 set to wattage, I kept using the 0.8 oHm mesh coil in the Zenith II and still am (been approximately 2 weeks now – amazing isn’t it). Also, I will say this, I noticed that when using the 0.8 oHm mesh coil there is a difference in both vapor “taste” and TH. In addition, it seems I can even vape at a lower wattage (7 w) or higher (15 w) without the unflavored NIC e-liquid I use tasting like old burnt tobacco as it has in the past when using a sub-ohm coils. Even played around with increasing the wattage up to 20w, with no major problems – just not for me. However, will I continue using the 0.8 oHm coils? Maybe/Maybe not, if I had the 0.8 oHm mesh coils - I might use them, just not going to make a special purchase of them when I mainly use 1.2/1.6 oHm Z-coils. AND – As for the 0.3 oHm coils – tried did not like – NOPE – NA DA – NOT HAPPENING.

Which brings me to the New Zenith II tank . . .

jBftkeQ.jpg

What a difference and pleasure a few adjusts/improvements make to a product you already enjoy using. The Zenith II has a few very noticeable changes to its appearance and function, while maintaining what I (and many others) found positive with its original design. While the differences might be somewhat minor to some, IMHO - the "improvements" do make a noticeable change of refinements for the better - at least for "Me" as a MTL "Tootle Puffer"

0EbAjID.jpg

gcyNwnT.jpg

So what are the differences that you might not notice at first:

The Size of the Fill ring and Airflow ring. They are both slightly “chunkier” and have an intermittent raised “wave” that allows for a much better “grip’ when turning the rings open and close. The Airflow ring is even easier to set to your preferred opening without any “slipping” while using or when carrying in a pocket/bag. Can set to the lowest opening for limited airflow “MTL” and it stay’s where you put it until you want to open it up more and the same can be said for those who want to open the airflow all the way for a very airy draw for “DL”.

Next is the Silicone gasket that covers the fill hole – what a very smart concept - you insert the tip of your e-liquid bottle nozzle through the slit to fill the tank. I was able to fill the Zenith II tank with no mess whatsoever. Can’t tell ya’ how many times I didn’t realize that I was about to overfill, or the fill hole ring wasn’t closed all the way or opened without my knowing to have e-liquid flowing out of the fill hole.

DSPZ2UG.jpg

Replaceable Pyrex Glass for Tank . . . Glass tubing does break every so often and when it does, tanks that are ‘sealed’ can only be thrown away. – NOT NICE ! ! ! And can be very expensive. Thankfully Innokin listen and heard their consumers – enough said.

Replaceable/Interchangeable Drip Tip . . . What can I say . . . While having a Drip Tip attaché to a tank might be covenant for some, I find it very annoying, especially when I don’t like the style or design and trying to clean any tank. Thankfully Innokin Design Team rethought this when “upgrading’ the Zenith to the Zenith II and you can now remove the Drip Tip to one you prefer using be it for “MTL” or “DL” – even your favorite Drip Tip from another manufacturer. Personally, I like the Innokin Drip Tips available (including the delrin’s for “MTL”), however when in the mood I use a Pyrex Glass Drip Tip at times too.

Talk about an improvement, the not so slight modifications made to the Zenith II really enhance the MTL "Vaping" experience for “Me” . . . Cool and "Refreshing" - especially using 1.2 & 1.6 oHm Z-coils at a lower wattage 10 Watts . . . Matter of fact, I haven't put the Zenith II down since the day I got it set up and running.

The results overall:

Although there have been a few times I have not “liked”, or actually find a product that I would use, or even something does not meet my expectations – the Innokin Coolfire Z80 & Zenith II is not one of them.

Without a doubt Innokin is producing more - WINNERS - The Coolfire Z80 and Zenith II get’s Uncle’s stamp of approval and is another Innokin product that I whole heartily recommend to all Vapors alike . . .

( Okay Now – Before anyone makes any comments, Once again, it will sometimes take “Me” quite awhile to write up and edit a review; so if “You” find any mistakes in grammar, punctuation, or spelling – get over it, I’m not a professional writer . . . Just Sayin’ . . . :rolleyes: }

Battery model help

Hi, so I have purchased the Gen S.
Batteries, as I'm sure some people may agree are a little confusing, anywho- I took a trip into my local vape store as I thought that may be my safest option. I was sold AWT IMR 3500mAh 35A 3.7V, will these be safe to use in the Gen S?
I have attempted some of my own research, but thought guidance here may be useful!

Thanks!

IJOY Captain Link Mod - Review

Hi ECF members, In this review I take a look at the Captain Link 100w Mod from IJoy. The IJOY Captain Link Mod was supplied for the purpose of this review by Sourcemore.

IJOY Captain Link Mod 100W Box Mod single 18650/21700

jACMSos.jpg

Introduction

To my recollection it was IJoy who first started regularly releasing 20700 swiftly followed by 21700 devices back at a time when batteries were included because the likelihood was it would be the first device someone had bought accommodating such batteries but it wasn't long before the 21700 became as popular as the 18650 (and preferred by most)!

The IJoy Captain Link Mod takes the successful "Captain" title probably for no other reason than it will increase sales which is something which seems to be a regular ploy by most manufacturers of late either just cashing in on a successful name or maybe simply a fact they are struggling for original names!

The Captain Link Mod is an ergonomic single 100w device which offers Variable Wattage and full TC suite and allows the display colour to be customised to be one of 4 colours. The IJoy Captain Mod is quite large compared to the more compact single 21700 devices of late but is aesthetically pleasing and features an old school bottom battery plate and 25mm 510 plate up top, let's crack on and check out the Captain Link Mod from IJoy!

In The Box

1* Type-C Cable

1* Warranty Card

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Captain Link Mod came in cardboard box packaging with outer cardboard sleeve, we have a raised picture of the device in the chosen colour on the front and Specs, contents etc on the reverse. I received the Blue version which I picked because it's such a nice shade, the options are Black, Stainless Steel, Blue, Red or Green.

The main chassis is Zinc Alloy and Black in colour then the chosen colour refers to the rear bracket and matching buttons. The curved bracket employs an "X" design on the spine area giving 4 separate sections which has substantial Silicone pieces with aggressive grooved texture for grip. Simply because this is a single battery device, curvy and those added Silicone grips makes this a delight to carry about and fire despite being large compared to most single 21700 devices released of late!

Comparison between Foxy One and OBS Engine!

lgs9Wtu.jpg

We have a slightly curved face with Zinc Alloy square protruding buttons matching the colour of the bracket. The square fire button positioned towards the top isn't the largest but protrudes nicely, towards the bottom we have the matching smaller square navigational buttons lined up vertically which is followed by the Type C USB port, the screen is positioned between the fire and lower buttons!

On the chassis one side towards the bottom we have "Captain LINK" printed with the "Captain" in a nice signature style font. At the base we have an old school style battery plate with fold out lever then moving up top we have a 25mm Stainless Steel 510 plate that's screwed on to the main chassis and has etched safety stamps, the 510 is Gold plated and spring loaded. The device is a looker in my opinion and solidly built but when shaking vigorously I did get the slightest of fire button rattle which although pointing out really isn't going to occur during normal use so not worth dwelling on!

Installing The battery

The IJoy Captain Link will accommodate either a 20700, 21700 or with the included adaptor an 18650 which gets fitted via the bottom of the device. We have an old school screw in battery plate with fold out lever which is sturdy and screws in and out of position smoothly, when the lever is folded outwards to use for turning 3 good sized venting holes are revealed.

Orientation is marked vibrantly at the bottom of the tube and in White on the underside of the plate and once secured we get absolutely no battery rattle (I tried both a 21700 and 18650 battery)! I do wish the battery fit was a little bit more snug though as the tube is far wider than it needs to be so you get a lot of battery movement from side to side until the plate is secured, for this reason I really wish the 18650 adaptor was the usual full sleeve version rather than the little stumpy one that just fits over the end of the battery!

The Display

The display is very bright and colourful with the options to both change the colour of the main accents and alter brightness!

Central top we have the battery status bar then underneath a circular colourful design. Within this circular design we have the mode then underneath either the wattage or temperature depending which mode you are in! Below the wattage or temperature but still within the circular design we have vape duration left and the 3 digit puff counter to the right.

Below the central circular design at the bottom of the display we first have the resistance followed below with the voltage which will be wattage instead if using TC mode!

_________________________________________________________________________

Navigating The Captain Link Mod

The Captain Link is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and off and once on pressing both navigational buttons together locks the whole device so it also will not fire (don't like this)! Pressing either fire and up or fire and down together brings up the brightness bar which can then be altered up or down from 0 to 100% using the navigational buttons, either pressing fire or no activity for 2 seconds takes you back to the main working screen!

3 quick clicks of the fire button highlights the mode which can be changed by clicking the navigational buttons or pressing fire will take you to an item on the screen that can be altered allowing puffs to be reset (although they only go to 999 before resetting anyway) or when in TC locking resistance and setting wattage.

The modes are Power (variable wattage), Theme (allows the main accents on the screen to be either Red, Yellow, Blue or Green), Memory (can set 4 different profiles), TC-TCR, Ti, SS and finally Ni.

When altering wattage it adjusts from 5w to 100w in point 1 increments with single presses and 1w increments with a button held down, it doesn't round robin. When in TC the temperature unit round robins between Celsius and Fahrenheit, Celsius adjusts in 5 degree increments from 150 degrees to 300 degrees and Fahrenheit adjusts in 10 degree increments from 300 to 600 degrees!

The device is simple to navigate which is a good job really as the manual comes in about a million languages but it doesn't matter what your native tongue is because it's useless and doesn't even tell you how to change modes, in fact the only thing it tells you about the operation of the device is that 5 clicks is on and off and that's it, do us a favour IJoy save some trees and don't bother! Also something I find quite funny but again is not good enough is when in memory mode the display say's "Momery"!!!!!!!!!

Charging

As usual I would encourage to charge externally but if you do need to charge in the device we have a type C USB connection and 1.5A charge rate! While charging a charging progress bar is displayed within a circular design, the Captain Link Mod supports upgrades but not pass through vaping!

_________________________________________________________________________

My Thoughts!

Despite the Captain Link Mod being larger and heavier than other recent single 21700 devices I have reviewed I sill found it to feel great in the hand and love the Silicone grips which are substantial! I really like the colourful bright display and how easy it is to navigate, I also like how both the brightness and colour accents can be adjusted.

However I don't like how unnecessarily large the battery compartment is and the manual is garbage! I also wish this would reduce top wattage to a realistic 80w for an 18650 battery. Another big con is that you can't just lock the navigational buttons but only the whole device which i can do anyway with 5 clicks of the fire button and if there is a way that I just haven't found then the manual isn't going to help me! The only other petty con is the wattage doesn't round robin although temperature does!

The buttons have quite some travel but give a definite yet quite quiet click which I like, when firing there is no delay and I had no performance issues whatsoever although if you use TC you will need to do further research. The puff counter doesn't reset when swapping out batteries and it also remembers your last setting which I like, although we have a puff counter which can be reset manually it is only 3 digits so after 999 it will automatically reset! One last major pro is the battery plate which is quality with a sturdy lever which reveals venting when folded out and the threading is really nice!

With all the cons I have I still found I really am liking this mod possibly for it's aesthetic looks, ergonomic feel and it's been performing like a trooper!

If you need to charge in the device we have a Type C USB connection and upgrades are supported but pass through vaping isn't accommodated. Finally up top we can fit 27mm atomisers with no overhang which is above par for a single battery device!

Vaporesso Gen S batteries

Hi, so I have purchased the Gen S.
Batteries, as I'm sure people may agree are a little confusing, anywho- I took a trip into my local vape store as I thought that may be my safest option. I was sold AWT IMR 3500mAh 35A 3.7V, will these be safe to use in the Gen S?
I have attempted some of my own research, but thought guidance here may be useful!

Thanks!

Mod firing problems

Hi Guys,

Glad to join the community and hope perhaps to sort out some problems. How much money we save by vaping instead of smoking! I had a few problems though which I hope some of you may be able to sort out for me.

I’ve has three Eleaf Istick 40s and, recently, an Istick 30. They’re good when they’re going, but they often quit firing and I can’t figure out why or how to get them to reliably fire. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, we’re they able to find an answer.

Should I change to another make of mod?

Looking forward to hearing from happy vapers,

Best wishes to all,

Arthur Leat

[Q] High liquid consumption

Hi.

I am using a quote, so it is easier to read. You can read it or just skip it.

I am making my own liquid. I always make it 70VG/30PG.

For the past 2 years I have used squonker.

I have used:

1. WOTOFO RECURVE SQUONK MOD
together with
2. WOTOFO PROFILE RDA

The Profile RDA uses mesh coils and it had 0.13-0.15 Ohm resistance.

After every inhale, I would squonk the bottle to keep the cotton saturated.

A few weeks ago my Recurve MOD broke where it holds the battery.

So I took out my IJOY CAPO Squonker (which has broken bottle, so squonk does not work) together with KYLIN M RTA.

After using Kylin M RTA for a month I remebered why it was put in a shelf - it would constantly got hot spots and a burnt taste, so every often it would need an adjustment.

So, since I cannot use my WOTOFO Profile RDA and Kylin M RTA always needs an adjustments for hotspots, I decided to buy HORIZON SAKERZ SUB-OHM TANK.

But, what I have noticed, is that HORIZON SAKERZ SUB-OHM TANK is using 2-3 times more liquid than Profile and Kylin M.

How can I make it use less liquid?

Make the liquid thicker - 80VG/20PG?

Thank you.

Inhale Or Puff?

Hello, I wanted to know if you guys inhale your vape or puff like a cigar?

I do mostly both. I inhale sometimes, and often I puff it like I would a cigar. I find that most times the feeling of the "nicotine buzz" is the same. However, I notice many people don't think that puffing like a cigar is the right way to vape even though supposedly nicotine is mostly absorbed by the mouth, nose, and throat when vaping.

New Testing Method Keeps PMTA Dream Alive for Small Vape Companies

"Small vaping manufacturers hoping to remain on the market beyond Sept. 9, 2021 are scrambling to begin the serious work of testing their products, so they’ll be able to show the FDA they’re making a good-faith effort toward completing the PMTA requirements.

The FDA has discretion to grant case-by-case extensions to manufacturers “for good cause.” Many believe that showing evidence of progress toward completing the testing requirements will earn a temporary reprieve from FDA enforcement.

Applicants that are serious about remaining on the market face major challenges completing the complex and expensive evaluations required of their products—including stability testing, toxicology reports, behavioral studies and HPHC testing.

HPHC is FDA shorthand for “harmful and potentially harmful constituents,” and refers to substances in e-liquid that might pose health concerns. The cost of HPHC testing has been a major hurdle for small manufacturers—more than $20,000 per e-liquid at a typical lab using the standard testing method. That’s out of reach for most small businesses with dozens (or more) of flavors that will require testing.

AVM’s new process makes HPHC testing affordable
The founders of the American Vapor Manufacturers Association (AVM) have created a much less expensive alternative HPHC testing method that costs just five to ten percent as much as standard testing. It’s a proprietary process, but is available to all AVM members.........."

DOVPO BLOTTO SINGLE COIL RTA review by hittman

Hello again. Today I will be presenting my second review for DOVPO on the new BLOTTO single coil RTA. I have to admit that I have not tried any of the prior versions of the Blotto so cannot really do a comparison. There isn’t a reason why I haven’t tried them. It’s just that there are so many tanks on the market that I just can’t try them all. The single coil Blotto is a cooperation between Vaping Bogan and Dovpo and provides 272 degree airflow.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I thought the packaging for the Blotto was rather nice. It may sound silly but I really like how there is a half circle cut out on the sides of the outer box cover that makes it easy to open the box. The front of the box is clear so you can see the tank. On the back is a list of the features of the Blotto RTA. After opening the top, the Blotto is sitting inside a foam insert with the straight 2.8ml glass tube pre-installed. I thought it had a very nice physical appearance. I lifted the tank and foam to find the rest of the accessories which included a Glass 5ml bubble tube, a PCTG 5ml bubble tube, user manual, accessory pack with o rings and tri tool, and a skull shaped bottle opener. The bottle opener actually serves two purposes. One of course is to open bottles but the other is to measure your coils for cutting the leads before installing a coil in the deck. There is a rectangular opening in the top of the skull opener that you can sit your coil inside of with one lead on either side of the metal and trim the coil legs. It comes out to about 5mm in length.

upload_2021-8-25_11-49-1.png

Blotto-02.jpg

I have to admit that I have never tried any of the previous versions of the Blotto. From what I have discovered there were at least a dual coil version and a mini version. If there are more then I’m not aware of it.

The drip tip that comes with the Blotto is nice enough but way too short for me. The first thing I did was find a longer tip to use on it. The 810 drip tip does not have o rings on it. The o ring that secures the tip in the top cap is inside the cap. To me the top cap has the appearance of a bottle cap which is ironic since Vaping Bogan always includes a beer in his reviews.

The top cap is a ¼ turn cam lock type of connection which has become common on many tanks and I really prefer this type of top cap connection. The fill ports are plenty large for most bottle types and had no issues filling the tank. You can see in the second picture that the o ring is a little deformed. This was a small issue that Dovpo is correcting before these go to production. I was able to push the o ring back in place and continue to use the tank like normal.

Like I mentioned earlier, the tank comes with the straight glass installed on the tank. I found it very easy to disassemble and clean the tank before use. I immediately installed the bubble glass because I wanted the extra liquid capacity it offers. There is an o ring on the top and the bottom and both stayed in place when I took it apart and cleaned it. It seems like a lot of tanks have one or both o rings stuck to the glass when they are first received. The outer bell of the inner tank has a skull symbol on it which is no surprised with who developed it.

The deck on the Blotto is the most interesting part of the tank to me. I haven’t used an rta quite like this before. It has elevated metal backed airflow posts. On the coil side there are honeycomb airflow holes on both posts to diffuse the airflow to deliver evenly distributed air over the coil. There is also airflow from below that combines with the honeycomb to deliver the 272 degree airflow coverage on the coil.

The outer airflow control ring on the base also has honeycomb airflow holes and from what I understand the stops on the airflow ring have been improved over past versions since there were some complaints on the ring moving past the stops.

The posts on the deck sit at an angle opposite each other diagonally and have smallish flat head screws. I kind of wish they would have used an Allen wrench type screw instead. My eyes aren’t the best and had to have a little extra light when installing a coil.

I tried a couple of different builds on the Blotto. My first attempt was with a 316SS flat braided coil but it was too flimsy and I was not able to install the coil without it deforming. Then I wound a 316SS 26/32 3mm Clapton coil and this wen much better. I liked this coil at about 28 watts on my Odin Mini DNA75C and it ran nicely with the airflow about ¾ open in Replay mode. I ran that set up for a few days then decided to try a 2.5mm Vandy Vape pre wound coil that was also 316SS. The 2.5mm coil was easier to install. The 3mm coil came in at around .4 ohms while the pre wound 2.5 was right at 1 ohm. The 2.5mm coil ran well with the airflow set about ½ open. I started at 15 watts and after break in ended up at 17 watts. The first picture below is the 3mm and the second is the 2.5mm with each installed and wicked.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

It had been a while since I had tested a new rta. After twelve years vaping, I had settled in on my favorites for the most part. I have to say that I very much like the Dovpo Blotto RTA. You can just tell when something is well made. I can tell that a lot of thought went into the design and manufacture of this tank. The threads on the tank are very smooth and the top cap is easily removed or installed. I did have a little hiccup with the top cap external o ring but that will be corrected before production.

To me the Blotto Single Coil RTA not only looks and feels nice but also functions well which is what we’re all after in the end. The flavor production with both builds that I tried was very good and produced generous amounts of vapor. At first placing the coil was a little awkward for me since there isn’t a ton of room between the two airflow posts. I would say that a 3mm coil is about as big as I would recommend. I’m fine with that since I mostly run 3mm and 2.5mm coils.

I have tried a few RDA’s before that had similar honeycomb airflow like the Blotto and consistently liked the flavor production from them. I also like that the outer airflow ring is honeycomb as well as the two airflow posts on the deck. That along with the bottom airflow slots makes for a very good flavor producing tank.

When I installed the 3mm coil, I did thin the tails out on the wick before placing them in the cotton well slots. However, with the 2.5mm coil, I just cut the wick to length, loosened the fibers a little, and stuffed them in the wells. I never once got a dry hit and no flooding whatsoever.

I would have to rate the Blotto Single Coil RTA as a winner in my book. I’d like to thank Dovpo and Neil for sending the Blotto Single Coil RTA for this review. Once again, thank you to the readers. Below is a link to the website if you’d like to take a look. Did I mention that I really like the looks of this tank?
