SUORIN AIR MOD REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello folks and welcome back for todays review of the Air Mod that was sent to me from Suorin for the purpose of this review. The Air Mod is the next evolution in the AIR series of thin mods from Suorin. Like it's siblings before the Air Mod is a very thin device that uses a corner of the mods top portion as it's mouthpiece. Unlike the past AIR devices the Air Mod has adjustable wattage with a 40 watt maximum output with a internal 1500mAh battery. This new version has many upgrades from previous ones that include a auto-draw feature, before I give any more away lets check out the Suorin Air Mod in detail before the review.

UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Suorin packaged the Air Mod as most company's do having the device and coils resting in individual cutouts with your user manual and charge cord sitting below them. Suorin wraps it's devices in a thin piece of plastic for protection against scratches in the shipping process, I like that they do this.

I knew right away before even unwrapping the protective plastic sheet from the mod that it was going to be a fingerprint magnet and indeed it is. I left the wrap on the mod in this first picture so you could see it.

We now have replaceable coils instead of replaceable pods and that's a major upgrade in my opinion, both coils are mesh but the material of the coil is not stated. The 2 coils are 0.6Ω mesh rated at 25-32w and the other coil is the 0.8Ω mesh rated at 16-22w. Displayed is the front of the device with the 0.96 inch display screen bottom left.

20210824_143229.jpg

The pod portion of this device holds 3ml of juice and as half of the device is it's translucent also. The large sized fill hole has a blue cover gasket that can be rotated out of the way when refiling the pod. I like that half of the mod is translucent showing the circuit board.

20210826_143245.jpg

As most do the Air Mod's pod is held in place using a magnet that is very strong, your pod will stay in place without coming off. The coils fit inside the pod with the flat edges facing the sides of the device.

20210825_142835.jpg

Another of the Air Mods features is that you can use it in a traditional fashion of pressing the fire/power button to activate and vape it or you can use the auto-draw feature, I will tell you that the auto-draw works very well and the airflow is smooth. I never had any funny sounds or a whistle at any airflow selection that I tried.

20210825_144901.jpg

Viewing juice levels is no problem because of the translucent 3ml pod, I like that the cotton juice feed holes on the coils are located very low making it very hard to run the tank dry if your not paying attention to the juice level in the pod.

20210827_202131.jpg

As all Suorin AIR devices do the mouthpiece is one corner of the device once the pod in in place, this does take some getting used to coming from a traditional mouthpiece but you quickly get used to it.

20210826_125227.jpg

Because the Air Mod is so thin I suggest keeping it laying flat when not in use, it will stand upright but any little movement on the surface it's standing on will cause it to fall and that's not good for any device. The type-c charge port is located on the bottom of the device.

20210826_124725.jpg

All your controls are located on the left side and are of the same color of the device as well as being translucent also, I am a button pressing vaper normally because very few devices that have a auto-draw feature actually work well. When auto-draw is activated the disply screen lights just like it would when using the fire button.

Suorins auto-draw is a exception because it works very well and because of the mouthpiece being the top corner of the mod it's so much easier to operate the device using the auto-draw than having to hold the mod in a certain position in order to press the fire button, using auto-draw you can vape the device in any hand position comfortably.

There is a airflow selector on the Air Mod that when fully closed down gives a very nice semi-tight MTL draw and when fully open gives a very nice RDL vape. Unfortunately the resistance is almost 0 on the control, when put in a pocket the airflow setting you selected will come off that setting very easily, luckily for me I like it wide open and that only requires a swipe down with my finger or thumb, precise settings are difficult with the control lever being so loose.

20210828_071230.jpg

As mentioned earlier the Air Mod has a nice bright display screen with fonts that are easy to read and the layout is also done very well. Screen layout listed below from top to bottom.

* BATTERY BAR

* WATTAGE

* PUFF COUNTER

* COIL OHM

* SECONDS OF LAST VAPE

20210828_071106.jpg

Being a wattage only device makes the menu system easy to navigate, there really is no menu just a couple of button combinations that are listed below.

* ON/OFF - 5 QUICK PRESSES OF THE FIRE/POWER BUTTON

* WATTAGE LOCK/UNLOCK - HOLD BOTH ADJUSTMENT BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY

* CLEARING THE PUFF COUNTER - HOLD BOTH ADJUSTMENT BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY

USING THE AIR MOD

Well folks I will tell you that I had hoped that with the introduction of replaceable coils on this latest device in the AIR series of devices that they would be good flavor producers and they are, I would say they are better than your average coil.

I used a juice that I know very well and both coils gave me a well saturated flavorful vape, using the 0.6Ω mesh coil at 30w gave me my sweet spot for flavor and warmth with the airflow fully open.

Using the 0.8Ω mesh coil was equally pleasing but I lost a touch of warmth, airflow was reduced as well being of a smaller diameter. You can use the the 0.8Ω in a MTL fashion and it performs very well.

Keeping the Air Mod free of fingerprints is impossible, if this device had a matt finish it would be so much better, I hope future releases will have a matt finish, having a shiny surface is pretty but covered in fingerprints not so much. ( LISTEN TO ME SUORIN ).

Being as thin as it is it will disappear almost anywhere you choose to carry it, in a pocket you won't even notice it. For a device of this size it's really lightweight.

Battery management is also very good giving the device another big plus of the many that it has. Using the 0.6Ω coil I averaged between 330-336 vapes on a fully charged battery, using the 0.8Ω I averaged 352-360 vapes on a fully charged battery.

My only 2 negatives with the Air Mod is the airflow selector switch/lever being way to loose to function other than wide open or fully closed down for a tight MTL vape. Being as nice looking as it is being a fingerprint magnet tarnishes it's look after using for a short time.

PROS

* THIN

* FAIRLY LIGHTWEIGHT

* VERY GOOD FLAVOR

* TYPE-C CHARGE PORT

* 3ML POD CAPACITY

* BRIGHT DISPLAY

* SMOOTH AIRFLOW

* GREAT AUTO-DRAW

* VERY FAST SCROLLING

* TRANSLUCENT POD AND HALF OF THE MOD

CONS

* AIRFLOW CONTROL VERY LOOSE

* FINGERPRINT MAGNET

I would like to thank Mira and SUORIN for providing the latest in the AIR series of devices the AIR MOD. I hope that my review helped answer any questions many of you looking to purchase the AIR MOD had.

THANK YOU

Brass VS Copper?

Hey Guys,

I’m in the market for a nice high / mid range tube mech. I’m mostly looking at Purge mods at the moment.

The one I have my eye on is the new Slam Piece Slugger. It’s all black on the outside. But I can choose to buy Black / Brass or Black / Copper (I’m assuming the tube is cerakoted on the outside, and the actual tube will be either made of brass of copper depending on which one I choose.

Ive read a post by Mooch saying that there is no difference in performance / voltage drop between Brass and Copper. And it just depends on things like the contacts, components, threading etc.

So my question is are there any benefits to Brass or Copper? Or is it just a personal preference / Aesthetic thing?

Do they weight they same? Ive heard copper is softer than brass? So that might be a con.

Any experts / collectors please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for your time. So as the title states, I am the new owner of a beautiful Hellfire shadow. Seems to be in great shape, has the stainless steel carrier, and four new bottles with a fifth installed. However the installed bottle leaks like crazy out of the carriers seems every time I squeeze the bottle, and I can't figure out how to hook up one of the new ones without it leaking the same way. And if you're a couple of days on Google I can't seem to find instructions anywhere. please help!! thank you!!!

DNA 60 Wire Gauge

I have a SqEvo, that I'm looking to repair, and I'm wondering if the wire used in it's original construction is appropriate.

It appears to be 18 gauge solid core enameled wire.

The mod in question has 10.8 hours on it according to EScribe and I suspect friction of the battery positive wire rubbing against the 510 while the button was being pressed, is the cause for the enamel being burnt off the wire.

Originally I was going to just desolder the Battery positive and put heat shrink over it, but then I started questioning the gauge of the wire used on the 510 + and the board ground.

Is 18 gauge solid core wire adequate for a DNA 60 positive 510 and the ground connection?

I've been looking through the Evolv datasheets and I'm left wondering, Did Evolv under or over spec the Wire for the DNA 60, DNA 75, DNA 200, and or the DNA 250, as they all have the same recommended wire sizes?

I'm not an electrical engineer, so any insight you can offer would be appreciated.

Update: I did get a response back from Evolv's technical support. They said that 18 gauge is sufficient for the output and ground at 60 watts. But never responded to my question about the DNA 60, 75, 200, and 250 all using the same wire specs.

Vandy Vape PR SE Kit - Review by Javichu (Sourcemore)

Hello there fellow vaperinos :)

Time for another review of a vaping apparatus,i like using the word ''apparatus'' it makes me seem smart,cultured and intelligent...sure hope so :D:D

I received this kit from Sourcemore for the purpose of this review.

This time i am stepping on to uncharted territory,i am about to use/review my first squonk apparatus.

Even thou i have never squonked before hence never pumped a bottle in a mod i did own a pair of Reebok sneakers when i was a kid so i am highly confident in my ''pumping'' skills.

3ZYVmYM.gif

Ok time to get serious.

All contents of the kit displayed so you can see what you get when you purchase the Vandy Vape PR SE Kit:

(2 items missing from the picture,little baggie with 2 coils are incliuded and a small tool to help you lift the tab on the bottom cap when you are going to refill the squonk bottle)

Since this kit comes with the Pulse V2 Mod and the Requiem RDA i am going to do two separate reviews of each item but in the same post,will start with the Requiem RDA.

REQUIEM RDA.jpg

The Requiem RDA is an RDA designed by a fellow Spaniard ''El Mono Vapeador'' famous reviewer in Youtube here in Spain and in some countries of South/Central America.

Time to get a look of said RDA with some of its specifications:

04C340F5-F605-41D0-87E7-831F0FC5ACCC.jpeg

Full look at the deck of the Requiem RDA:

REQUIEM.7.jpg

The Requiem RDA comes with 3 different caps so you can use it in MTL/RDL or DL mode:

Vandy_Vape_Requiem_RDA_Airflow_Setting.jpg

Here you can see it in all its glory on top of the Vandy Vape Pulse V2:

IMG_20210818_163850.jpg

Package Contents:
1x Requiem RDA
1x Coil Guide 2,5mm
2x Fused Clapton Coil 2,5mm 0,26Ω
3x Caps air configuration
1x Accessory bag
1x User Manual

First impressions:

Tiny looking RDA but cute,adding the beauty ring it does give it a nice look.
Keep in mind it is a 22mm atty and it goes up to 24mm if you add the beauty ring (you can see the beauty ring in the last photo)

Removing the cap reveals the base which features some good ol' chunky flat top screws which makes it a breeze when it comes to installing the coils.

Setup (coil and wicking):

Truth be told i am a klutz...yeah you read right,usually takes me a long time to get the coil put in but in this case it was an easy task.

Same goes for the wicking,with new RDA/RTA i have to rewick a couple of times (at least) until i get it right...not in this case.
The wicking was flawless so after doing some pumping i was ready to give this bad boy a try.

Not a MTL vaper but to do a proper review i had to give it a try.
So i loaded up the bottle with some nic salts and started vaping...wow,very good flavor and a nice,nice i mean NICE hit.

But since i don't enjoy MTL that much take off the MTL cap and put in the RTL cap,kept the same nic salts and started.

Now this right here hit the spot...actually liked it so much i had to change the bottle and put in my usual none nic salt e-liquid at 4.5mg nic.
Filled the bottle all the way to the top and used it all day without even looking at my other everyday use atomizer.

The very next day when it was time for my first daily espresso and checking emails i decided to give the DL cap a try.

While it did give the ''true'' DL experience i didn't really enjoy it as much as the RDL cap,what can i say? I am more of a middle type of guy.
Somewhere between MTL and DL is my butter zone,that is where i truly enjoy my vaping experience.

With all 3 caps (MTL,RDL and DL) you can slighly adjust the airflow by rotating the outer ring but truth be told you can't really adjust that much.
If you really want to change lets say from DL to a more restricted vape you are better off just putting on the RDL cap.

Overall impressions:

Well made atomizer with a lot of versatility since you can just switch caps whenever you feel like it and change to whatever vaping style you are in the mood for.

Even thou i have never squonked there was no leaking...just one time and that was user error since i over pumped.

If you are a squonker and you're looking for a RDA with versatility that lets you switch vaping styles this is the RDA for you but if you're looking for a dripper i would recommend you look elsewhere,this atty just doesn't seem designed for that purpose.

Word of advice,if you have big chunky and sexy lips like mine the drip tip on the cap for DL mode will not work for you.
This was a major con for me,tried using it and when i went to puff i basically covered the airflow holes with my lips.
Doesn't seem like a big deal,you can just use another drip tip that is a bit taller but aesthetically wise the atty will lose its unique look.
The drip tip that comes with the DL cap is just way,way...way to low.

PROS:

- Three airflow caps included (MTL,RDL,DL)
- Easy to build coil wise
- Good flavor and cloud production
- Wicking is easy
- Nice luxury high end look and quality for a good and fair price

CONS:

- DL drip tip is way to low...people with big lips will have to change the drip tip for a taller one.
- Tight Airflow Ring
- Top cap too tight is very tight,even if you lubricate the rings and difficult to turn or remove.
- RDA is noisy and whistles when used with the DL cap,not a deal breaker for me but some might find it annoying.

Ok so half of the review is done,now i am only left with the review of the Pulse V2.

But i am so tired,need a small 5 second break and maybe have a cocktail

Now that i am fully recuperated it is time to tackle on the review of the Pulse V2.

PULSE V2.jpg

Gotta be honest,never squonked before and since i like to do a proper review i had to watch some videos of the Pulse V2 so i would know how to put it all together and how to operate it.

Let us start with a nice picture so you can see the color schemes available for the Pulse V2:

-2 x 7ml Squonk Bottles
-1 x Type-C Cable

-1 x Instruction Manual
-1 x Proper User Guidance
-1 x Warranty Card

First impressions:

First of all i have to say i am not a fan of plastic mods,rubber on the outside is ok (loved my JACKAROO) so i was a bit hesitant of this mod.

But once i had it in my hand i was put the ease,even thou i am not a fan of the material i did like the way it was made.

Well rounded edges and it fit nicely in my hand so nothing to worry about,i was ready to get started.

Pulse V2 Button Combinations

-Turn the Pulse V2 On or Off: Press the fire button 5 times.
-Change Modes: Press the fire button 3 times and then use the adjustment buttons to select your mode. Press the fire button to confirm your mode.
-Adjust settings in your current mode: Press the fire button 4 times.
-Enter the Menu: Hold the up and down adjustment buttons.
-Lock the mod: Hold the + adjustment button and fire button together.
-Flip the Screen: Hold the – adjustment button and fire button together.
-Stealth Mode: Hold both adjustment buttons and the fire button together.

My Requiem RDA was all primed and ready so it was time to try out the Pulse V2.
(atomizer size the Pulse V2 can fit up to a 26 mm atomizer without overhang)

I put in the 21700 Battery (Perhaps user error but i did scrape off some of the wrap on the battery)
Due to its bottom filling design the squonk bottle was filled with no hassle nor excess of liquid.
Screw in the cap and you ready to go.

First time squonker so i removed the top cap to see how much pumping i would need to keep the wick nice and wet.

Good feature (don't know if other squonk mods have it) is that once you release the pressure off the squonk bottle the excess of the e-liquid will go back in the bottle...awesome right?

I have used the Pulse V2 for about a week and haven't had any deal breaking issues.
It is a well designed and contructed squonking apparatus that does its job.

Was a bit worried about the panels but after a week of use i have to say i had no problems with them.
Magnets are strong and kept the panels in their place and well adjusted,no wobbly wibbly action with any of the 2 panels.

This device also has a TC mode but i haven't tested that since i have always been a vaper who just uses wattage mode.
So i can't really comment on the performance of TC mode.

Also this mod comes with a feature that lets you control certain aspects of your mod with an app called ''The Vandy App'' which you can find for Android and IPhone.

Since i don't own a smartphone i was unable to use this app but i have read a lot of other reviews and some people have used it with some conectivity problems.

If you are techy techy kinda person i guess this app is for you but for me personally it is just easier to use the mod itself to change for example the wattage i am using at the moment.

I was a bit afraid stepping my toes into the squonking scene since i never did it before but this mod just made my transition so much easier than i thought.

Pros:

-Water resistant and easy to clean
-You can swap the panels for customization
-Great build quality
-Nice compact size and lightweight
-Color and very bright screen

Cons:

- TC mode is not up to par
- Problems with app connectivity
(the above cons i have not experienced personally but i had heard from other reviewers,just thought i would post it as a disclaimer)

Would i recommend the Pulse V2?

Well for a newbie the answer would have to be most definitely,it was so easy to setup and get started with it that all my previous worries were just cast aside.

For a experienced squonker? well i can't really answer that question since this is the first time i tried a squonk mod.

If you are interested in purchasing this kit feel free to use this code supplied to me by the people of Sourcemore:

Thanks again to @Ema from Sourcemore for sending me this kit for the purpose of the review,much appreciated.

Ok so that is it folks,this was quite a lengthy review but i hope you enjoyed reading it.

- Top cap too tight is very tight,even if you lubricate the rings it is difficult to turn or remove.

$50.88 - Vandy Vape PR SE Kit

Thanks again to @Ema from Sourcemore for sending me this kit for the purpose of the review,much appreciated.

Ok so that is it folks,this was quite a lengthy review but i hope you enjoyed reading it.

Closed/Sold Voopoo Drag X

This is in like new condition in original box with everything it comes with when new.
I took it as a trade and realized its too much for me to use.
Both original coils are in the box and the person I got it from told me he had only tried it for a few minutes and found it to be too airy - it's more of a DTL device. I didn't even try it, most of my vaping is with Juul and I could tell it wasn't a match for me. There are MTL coils and even MTL pods on the market, but I don't have them. You'll need a 18650 battery, none is included. $25 shipped USPS Priority Mail. Paypal payment with no mention of anything remotely to do with vaping please.

New SMOK Arrivals - Morph Pod-80 Kit & Morph S Pod-80 Kit

Hey guys. Today let's check out the Morph Pod-80 Kit and Morph S Pod 80 Kit. They were just launched by SMOK and look very similar to each other. Here we go!

As we said, the Morph Pod-80 and Morph S Pod-80 are almost the same in design, and their difference in size is also very slight. The only notable difference is the batteries they use, the Morph Pod-80 is powered by a built-in 3000mAh battery, while the Morph S Pod-80 requires an external 18650 battery. Both kits have an output range from 5-80W and can be charged via a Type-C USB port. Use-wise, they have a large side fire key, a clear OLED screen, and two up/down buttons. Near the top of mod there is an air switch and two air inlets, so the airflow can be precisely adjusted to achieve the desired flavor. Moreover, multiple safety protections are provided to avoid potential risks.
VS_SMOKMorph_(2).png

As for the Morph Pod 80 LP2 pod included in both kits, it has a capacity 5mLand its specially designed base can lock the e-liquid and the condensate generated during vaping. The top filling system makes refilling a breeze, no need to pull out the pod, which is convenient and prevents leakage. The LP2 pod is compatible with all LP2 coils, with purchase you will get a preinstalled LP2 Meshed 0.23ohm DL Coil and a spare LP2 Meshed 0.4ohm Coil. The added silicone rings on the bottom of the coils would fill the gap, effectively stemming the liquid leaking from the pod.

Newbie question. May have missed this somewhere else

New to vaping. Looking to get off cigarettes. And tired of $20 disposables every 2 days. Bought the voopoo drag x. Looking to go with the mouth to ling setup, using 1.0 ohm PnP coil rated for between 10-15 watts. My question is for the battery. Is there a specific battery outside of just 18650 that I should be looking for? Searched the internet. But couldn’t find any real useful info on this that made sense to me. The battery I have now is (hohmlife 4) what it says on battery - ..16ohms (lowest resistance), 31.5 amp max, 3015 mAh, 63w - 85w max

Back again! I think? Looking for cheapest coils!

Hey guys!

I think I've been a member on this forum like a decade ago - but really have no idea with what username, email or whatever. So, a new account! Hi!

Switched to vaping in 2010 and a happy vaper since!
Used to vape the KR808D with those good old cotton atomizers, then in 2016 switched to eLeaf iCare and currently using the iCare2.

The coils for the iCare1 & 2 are very cheap (like $10 for 5 coils), but neither the iCare nor the coils are being sold anymore. :( I love my iCare - it's fantastic.

So, I'm forced to switch to a new brand/model.
Many of the current vapes come with a pod, which is rather expensive. I don't need that. Just want to replace my coil every few weeks.

Can any of you suggest a vape that:
- is small (like, pocket size - max 10cm high/long)
- doesn't produce huge clouds
- has cheap coils (or pods, if really no other option)

I don't need anything fancy.

Thank you in advance!
