Hello again and welcome back for todays review of the new Drag X Plus Professional Edition mod from Voopoo. I reviewed the Drag X Plus when it was being released on Jan 29th of this year, I'll leave a link if you missed it VOOPOO DRAG X PLUS KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322 . Your probably asking yourself what is different with the professional edition, there are a couple of upgrades that have been done that will make some people very happy and later on I'll discuss what the changes are and how well they are. First off as always let's get to know the Drag X Plus Professional Edition .

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


After opening the package up and sliding the container out of the sleeve I was very pleased that Voopoo stayed with the leather wrapped spine on the new upgraded Drag X Plus device. I was sent a sample device only and not the kit that includes the TPP Pod/Tank, the final retail version should be the same as what was sent to me though, I just need to mention it. It's still as beautiful as the original Drag X Plus device. I received the Silver Grey color and as you saw in the color choices there isn't a bad one, I wish I was sent 2 colors to show you all.





One of the changes that was done on the new Drag X Plus Professional device is a cosmetic one that involves the lettering on the leather covered spine of the device. On the original Drag X Plus the lettering had a more blocky wider look to it, the new one has a more detailed sharper appearance being cut deeper in the leather. The original reviewed Drag X Plus is in a gunmetal frame while the new one is in a silver frame. The only cosmetic change that was done on the new professional edition is with the leather.





In this closer view you can see the detail a little better, deeper engraving in the leather. I think it really improves the look and makes the lettering's appearance really pop.





The 510 up top hasn't changed and is still spring loaded with a slightly stiff throw to it.





The battery door also remains the same as well and is as solid as the original. Battery polarity is marked on the inside of the battery door with a negative symbol, as the original had no positive marking inside the battery tube the new Drag X Plus is without one also.







As I mentioned earlier I was sent the device only but wanted to include the TPP Pod/Tank in testing the new professional edition. As you can see the front of the device has not been changed from the original with all buttons in the same location as well as the type-c charge port. The display is the same and the two choices of UI are included also ( core ) - ( iron ). Below is the vertical iron UI that is more suited for the display screens quick glance, the core UI has a horizontal appearance , the smart mode ( yellow color screen ) is pictured with the S letter next to the wattage being displayed. The smart mode is a fantastic feature that I believe Voopoo introduced and is beginning to show up on other manufacturers devices which only allows wattage to be raised to the maximum wattage a Voopoo coils maximum wattage rating will allow, protecting the user from burning up a coil. There is a best recommendation from a minimum to a maximum for each Voopoo coil and the smart mode sets it automatically at the best minimum.

The display screen is still bright and vivid and still has the same layout and information laid out in the exact same order as the original Drag X Plus. I'll list the display below from left to right and top to bottom.

As with the original Drag X Plus the new Professional Edition Drag X Plus also has a RBA mode that goes up as high as 100 watts. When in RBA mode the display screen changes from a yellow screen to a blue screen and the S letter changes to R ( RBA ). The smart coil function is eliminated when your in RBA mode, both UI can be used in RBA mode as well.

I mentioned earlier there were a couple of upgrades on the Professional Edition Drag X Plus, one that I've already shown is the cosmetic change, the other change is on the chip. The original Drag X Plus never had a boost feature which could cause the device to not fire if the battery was low and depending on your build in RBA mode could cause a long time to ramp up.





With the new Drag X Plus Professional Edition now having boost that problem has been eliminated. I wanted see and confirm that the 8.5 volt output that Voopoo claimed was indeed reaching 8.5 volts so I built a 1.2Ω coil of 24 gauge kanthal wire to check ramp up time on the original Drag X Plus vs the Drag X Plus Professional Edition. I'm sorry for the poor quality of photos but my camera broke down. The first picture is of the original Drag X Plus under load ( fire button pressed ) with a output of 3.8 volts, notice the coil hasn't even begun to glow at 60 watts.



Pictured below is the same atomizer and coil on the new Drag X Plus Professional Edition and voltage shows a big increase with the boost circuit kicking in with 8.48 volts output under load ( fire button pressed ). You can see the coil glowing at 60 watts.




I know I sound like a broken record but everything is the same except the new Professional Edition has boost and a better looking leather spine. Everything I covered in my review of the original Drag X Plus that I left a link to in the beginning of this review is in the new and improved Drag X Plus Professional Edition including the menu that consists of a few button combinations that I'll list below.

FINAL IMPRESSIONS


If your already a owner of a Drag X Plus you can see that two things have been upgraded and the big one is the boost circuit is now on the professional edition and the other being a cosmetic change with deeper engraving on the leather spine.

In my opinion the boost circuit makes a big difference, it's happened to me with the original that sometimes a low battery will not allow the device to operate depending on what build or coil is used or installed.

The cosmetic change definitely improves the look but the old look is still attractive as well.

Function wise they are both the same and give a great vape whatever atomizer or pod is used, the original has stayed in my personal rotation of devices since I reviewed in January, so that should tell you how much I enjoy using it.

So if you were to ask me if you should pick one up and do I recommend it even if you have the original, my answer would be of course a big yes. If you do a lot of different builds you know the Drag X Plus Professional Edition will be able to handle any build outputting 8.5 volts.

The problem of low battery no power is a thing of the past with the new improved Drag X Plus Professional Edition.

Bought a Gen S a few weeks ago in-store. Haven't dropped it, overtightened the tank, anything.

After around a week, I noticed the tank was now wobbling & felt loose while fully tightened in the 510 connector. It works, but is really annoying.

I have contacted Vaporesso in regards to the problem via their email but they have not responded in over a week.

Even if they do eventually respond I am sure they'll want me to send my vape to them--and they're in China. It'll be minimum a month.

Been vaping for about nine years now, GF has been for seven. I decided to join and see what I can do about bulk E-liquid now that my supplier (Slim's E-liquid) closed shop. We were buying "Natural Menthol" in 32 oz. bottles at a very reasonable price. Any advise or recommendations is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've been vaping over a year and recently I bought "menthol" flavour e-liq (nic-salt). After walking out of store I read the label and I noticed in ingredients, there's "orange oil". I got kinda confused, I never vaped or had liquid which was using any of the oils for any of the flavouring. I checked my e-liquids that I usually vape, and none of them had any oils whatsoever (it's just artificial or natural flavouring).
Is it safe to vape e-liquid which is using oil for flavouring? I'm trying to keep the vaping as safest and as healthiest as possible, and that oil ingredient is kinda "bugging" me out. Can this orange oil in the longer or short term cause any lung illnesses or etc ?
(Also, why the f would they use orange oil in menthol e-liq, no idea...)

Also, some ingredients are kinda wierd, maybe I shouldn't use it?
E-liq ingredients: PG, VG, ethanol, water, ethyl butyrate, (nic-salt) , isoamyl acetate, sucralose, orange-oil, koolada, other-flavourings.

Welcome back for yet another one of my reviews. Today I will be talking about the VapX Violet YK1 pod system that was sent to me by VapX for the purpose of providing to you a fair and honest review. The Violet kit that I received as a review sample included both the classic and luxury pod batteries. I’m not sure but believe that they may be sold individually. The Violet boasts Push-Fit tech 100% sealed pod tanks that are leak proof despite pressure caused by travel situations. I’ll do my best to give you as much information as I can but this is a really new product so I’m sorry if I leave anything out.








What’s in the box?

The website just says “VapX Violet YK1 pod kit” so I’ll tell you what was in the kit that I received.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I believe that the package that I received was a review sample only from what I can gather from the small amount of information that is currently available on the VapX Violet YK1. I think that the classic and luxury edition models will be sold separately although the package that I received was rather nice and included both batteries, three packages of pre filled pods which were ice guava, ice mango, and ice pineapple. It also included a package of three refillable pods and a lanyard. I did not receive a user manual or a charging cable in the review sample box but did also receive a second set of all three pre filled pods that were included inside the box. Unfortunately they were the exact same flavors. I would have rather received some of the non “ice” flavors to try.

The two batteries included are the white Classic and the gradient Luxury models. As you can see in the specifications above, the Luxury has a little more battery capacity but both are rated for the same output. However, I really felt like the Luxury had a stronger output when trying the same pod on both. The Luxury model vibrates to give a haptic indication when the pod is installed in the battery. I also experienced intermittent vibrations with the Luxury battery while vaping but honestly don’t know why. I asked my contact at VapX and have not gotten a response as to why it does this. The Classic battery does not vibrate at all. Both units are auto draw only and there is not a button at all on either one. There is a light that illuminates when white when a puff is taken and noticed that the light turned blue after the puff which I assume indicates the battery level but don’t know that for sure. The pods are held in by magnets that are neither strong nor weak in my opinion. I had no issues with the pod coming out on accident. The pods only go in the battery one way so they will not make contact with the contacts inside the battery if inserted incorrectly. The only branding on the batteries is the simple logo on the bottom on the same side as the indicator light. On the bottom of each battery is the USB-C charging port. The batteries charge in approximately 45 minutes. The Classic battery appears to be made of plastic and is very lightweight while the Luxury battery is made of a metal that I am assuming is a zinc alloy. It has a little more weight to it. Both batteries are rated at 7 watts and 2.9v despite me feeling like the Luxury battery hit a little harder. The Luxury battery is rated at 380mah while the Classic is rated at 350mah. There is a tiny hole on each side of the battery that allows the airflow to the pods.







Like I mentioned earlier, I received pre filled as well as refillable pods with the review sample. The pre filled pods come in packages of three along with a coil attached to a base. The idea behind this is that you can use the same coil with the three pre filled pods before disposing of the coil.





The three that I received were ice guava, ice mango, and ice pineapple. If you’re going to use any of the “ice” pods then you better like menthol. The menthol on all three of these are way too strong in my opinion and I like menthol. They provide a pretty strong throat hit and I noticed that if I vaped one of them then took a drink of a cold beverage that it hurt the back of my throat. To me this is just too much menthol. The fruit flavors take a back seat to the menthol but the fruit flavors themselves are enjoyable. I tried the pods on both batteries and ended up using the Classic with the pre filled pods simply because it didn’t seem like it hit as hard as the Luxury battery. I wish the extra packs of the pods I received had been non ice flavors so I could give an opinion for non-menthol users. The mouthpiece on the pods are comfortable enough and I had no complaints with that. The pre filled pods seemed to have a little bit tighter draw than the refillable pods. All of the prefilled pods I received were marked 4% nicotine.







I enjoyed the refillable pods much more since I was able to fill with my own non menthol liquids. The draw seemed a little looser than the pre filled ones. The pods have a fairly long plug that was a little hard to remove to fill the pod. The flavor on the refillable was decent but nothing to write home about. To be fair, I don’t remember the last time that I used any device at 7 watts. I would have liked a little higher output but understand that it is restricted by the battery size.





FINAL THOUGHTS:

To be honest, after reviewing the other devices such as the VapX Meteor, Geyser S, and Geyser V1.5, and even the ART, I was very surprised to see VapX develop a product like the Violet YK1. I guess that there must be a bigger market than I am aware of for pre filled pod devices. I personally have never been a fan of them. It is good in my opinion that they also offer refillable pods for this device.

In my opinion the menthol content in the “ice” flavored pods is way too strong. I was very surprised at how strong they are. I use a menthol tobacco and also use a mix mint recipe that I make myself and could only take short puffs and not very many with the pre filled pods that I received. For myself and anyone that doesn’t want their face melted, the refillable pods are probably the better option.

The coils that come with the pre filled pods have a line on them that is what is recommended to not change the pod until it hits that level. I’m guessing that is because if you take the coil out while the pod is fairly full still that the liquid will spill out. I tried it and if you turn over a fairly full pod the liquid will come out.

To me, if I was going to purchase the Violet YK1 for use then I would have to buy the refillable pods with the Luxury battery and use either very strong freebase liquid or salt nic. For what I’m used to, the 7 watt output is just kind of weak.

So, would I recommend the VapX Violet YK1. It would depend on what your intended use is. If you wanted a small lightweight pod device to throw in a pocket with high mg liquid for the occasional puff out and about then I think it would be ok. The small battery size lasted me through about one and a half of the pre filled pods so it’s definitely not an all-day battery.

6. Multiple protections: Over-charge/Over-discharge/Over-current/Over-time/Short Circuit Protection

my 510 post broke and i found a supplier that had one in stock, it arrives tomorrow so i went to clean up the RDA . the insulator is missing! (must have fallen out when i removed the old post). i spent a good part of today searching online for replacements with no luck including contacting Vaperz cloud. any ideas anyone? there really isn't a whole lot to it, basically a sleeve around the pin. i sure wish manufacturers would sell a spare parts bag with these included.

You can use rath rda as single coil and dual coil rda. This atomizer comes in the package where you will receive coils, bf pin, 510 drip tip adapter and extra piece for drip tip. Build quality of the atomizer is really good, this atomizer also has some nice details and in my opinion it looks really nice.








You will receive this atomizer with 810 drip tip preinstalled and in my opinion this is really comfortable drip tip for using. You can unscrew the top part of the drip tip and in the package you will receive extra top piece so you can use any of them. On this atomizer you can use your own 810 drip tip which is really nice but also you can use here 510 drip tip because you will receve adapter in the package.

Under drip tip you can see the top cap and on it you can see some details so you can easily grab the top cap. On this atomizer you can adjust the airflow by spinning the top cap and you can pretty much easy control airflow here. From the inside of the top cap you can see really nice conical shape which is good since this improves the flavor. On the chamber you can see 15 airflow holes from each side and we have honeycomb airflow here which is really good. Chamber stays locked in place which makes airflow adjustment really easy. When you spinning the top cap in order to close the airflow you will close 1 hole from each side at the time in top row first and when top row is completly closed you will start to close last two rows. Basically really good airflow adjustment but it would be even better if we could leave open only bottom row, that would be nice because of people who like tighter airflow.










On the base you can see the screws that are very good and screws are one piece with ceramic electrodes. You can use this atomizer with one or with two coils. Building here is really simple and easy, all you need to do is to cut the coil leads first, in my opinion if you gho with two coils cut the coil leads on 5.5mm and it will be very nice. Wicking is really simple here and capacity of the atomizer is 2ml which is pretty good. With this atomizer you will receive bf pin so you can use this atomizer with squonk mods which is nice in my opinion.
















My thoughts:'



Build quality of the atomizer is really good and there is nothing to complain about build quality. Package is also very good because you will receive coils, adapter for drip tip and extra piece for drip tip. Airlfow adjustment is good but a small con here is that you can't leave open only bottom row, some people that like restrictive draw would like that. For me personally airlow is really good and I use it with top row closed and it is perfect, airflow is smooth since we have nice honeycomb airflow here. Buidling as I said is simple and easy and all you need to do is to cut the coil leads first on 5.5mm and you can place the coils here. If you want to use the atomizer with squonk mod you can because you will receive bf pin. Flavor is pretty good and vape quality is good in my opinion. If you ask me this is very solid rda, works pretty good and it is simple for using.

Cons:

- It would be better that we can leave open only holes on the bottom
