First impressions:
To begin describing the new Z-Max I decide to visually compare it to its Z-Classic predecessor.
Analyzing both of them I realized that the differences visible from the outside between the new and the old version are minimal or almost nil, the design is almost the same, except the design of the knurls at the base of the tank, the Top AFC slots in the Z-Max they are slightly wider (14x3mm) as well as the measures of the liquid intake holes visible through the Pyrex glass have increased.
The total dimensions of the two tanks, compared to an identical height, are naturally greater in the new Z-Max which at the base goes from 25mm to 26mm and at the center goes from the previous 28mm to the current 32mm.



The new Z-Max (like the previous one) can be completely disassembled for an accurate cleaning of the elements, it immediately appears as an atomizer of simple construction without particular innovations, in practice "old school" but with the prerogative of being "antileaking" thanks to the system Top-to-bottom AFC, should maintain the very good performance of the previous series.



In search of the differences between the new and the old I keep analyzing the components of the Z-Max, the Top-Cap has an O'Ring inserted internally to hold the 810 type Drip Tip which should be in delrin, the strange thing is that the spare one appears identical to the pre-assembled one, a questionable choice that offers no alternative but to use another one of your favorite drip-tips, provided you have a smooth 810 type without O'ring.



The Top-Cap exploits the "bayonet" joint with 1/4 turn rotation (open close). The slots for refilling the liquid appear well sized for any spout. For the leak tightness of the Top-Cap we find a silicone o'ring and here too nothing new, but a reliable and tested system.

Hi everyone, I am searching for some info from REAL users NOT reviewers or Yihi directly as I truly do not trust them.

Here is what I am looking for. If anyone has or did have one of those SX auto squonk mods, I would like to know if that auto squonk feature did in fact work well. I thought way back I had read someone saying it never would sense the wicks getting dry, so it really didn’t function well at all. Yihi is saying they have fixed this and I would like to know if it is in fact true. I don’t trust them at all. I DO trust you all though

maybe I was bored. Maybe to much doom and gloom on all the bans of new gear and the shipping of it. I started to think - why not have some fun with some of the stuff I already have?



Cases in point - the two rigs in the picture above. I believe that all the hardware (mods and tanks) are over 5 years old. The setup on the left has a bit of a story about it.

Sitting on my desk is a few old tube mods that I wonder what it would be like to use again. I found a old (I think KFv3) tank laying around, built a very low mass 2ohm coil in it, filled it up and went and tried it out on my old 15W tube mods. Sadly not a one of them liked the KFv3 and would register the 2ohm coil. So what to do? I had a old Evic that surely could be put into power mode. While I was not to surprised that it all works (I've actually refilled the tank a few times and replaced the battery once) the vape is more restrictive than I tend to like and be it the build (or the 10W power mode) I don't really like the flavor of the unflavored juice with this. Another negative is that while it is top fill, there is no juice flow control so the atomizer get flooded each time the tank is refilled. While I could (and have) used it in a pinch, I can get 1-2 tank fills on a single 3000mah battery.

The setup on the right represents some historical firsts for me. Years ago when I first got into rebuilding a Lemo2 was one of three tanks I bought when I started. It was also my first top fill tank. Sitting under it is my first ever Dicodes mod (a #6). This mod is setup in TC mode with 380F temperature setting and 23W.

Be it the better tank or the use of TC mode, the setup on the right provides a good vape. The 26650 has enough mah to easily allow me to vape the tank dry (takes me most of the day) and since years ago I got Dicodes very over priced charger, I just drop the mod in the charger at the end of the day and its ready for more vaping in a few hours.

So, anyone else putting to use or having some fun with +5 year old vaping gear? How do you like it?

Went to my local vape shop today to see if they have any coils for my fireluke 2. They did. And told me they didnt see any problem for keeping them either. Said because they were a business they can still get stuff. So I bought a voopoo drag x. With red leather. To call this thing a pod is a stretch. It vapes amazingly well for what it is. It has the gene chip and is as responsive as the original drag, no complaints there.

Hey all, new to the forum. Im needing some assistance with DIY e juice as ive had some issues and even after reading some how-to's on making and steeping im still getting some harsh results.

I originally ordered a 70/30 12mg USP flavourless base from fusion flavours ( in Canada which is where im from ) and found it was a bit harsh but wasn't sure if it was just the high nicotine content in the juice so I ordered 20/80 12mg USP Nic salts ( mixing the salts and USP base 50/50) to balance it out the throat hit as this was more or less what I was doing with pre-mixed commercial stuff for a smoother feel before I went to the DIY route and I still got the throat burn.
I then tested it with JUST the nic salt base and discovered the throat burn was less but still present and came to the conclusion maybe the alcohol was still present in the mix and that was what was causing the burn. Im using a magnetic stirrer ( with built in heating element ) to mix and agitate the mixtures for a few hours. I applied some heat to the first few mixtures while stirring as I was told this can speed up the process to steep and off-gas the alcohol but after reading a how-to this morning saying do not apply the heat I attempted another NIC SALT only attempt WITHOUT heat and am still getting the burn.
-is this the alcohol causing the burn?
- was my heat application creating a change in the nicotine composition to create this? everyone is saying heat is not good for nicotine but what is the result of heat exposure. does it just degrade its stength or will it completely change the taste/ increase this burning sensation.
- from what I understand the steeping will give it a better deeper flavour but my guess is if ive off-gassed the alcohol from the agitation of the stirrer I can at least test it to see if the burn is gone very soon after agitation before it does its steeping over night or over days.

ive used a number of different flavours from different companies so I don't think its just ONE flavour creating this sensation. any input would be great thanks.
