a major problem I find with nearly all tanks is they can be impossible to unscrew. Yes I lube my o rings prior but they still lock up. I have to use pliers just to unscrew some. Not good if out and about and need to fix a coil or something or even refill juice.


steam crave aromamizer plus v2 does have good knurling grip, but I don't like that tank. First off it's height is too bulky but can be reduced because the juice flow doesn't need it's own section like that. Instead it can just be like all the other normal types that you spin the cap or something and it's built into the chimney. But mainly I personally don't prefer huge cloud DTL tanks like that. Yes some have reducers but even with reducers the air flow isn't restricted as much as MTL'ers prefer. So my options with the MTLs (kayfuns, spica, gate, etc) don't have good knurling grip.


I do like DTL sometimes though yes, but just mentioning that proper air flow restrictor inserts could easily make a DTL tank also an MTL with very tight draw.


All the tank needs is little protruding stubs so you can actually unscrew the darn thing even when there's some juice on it.



This is a rough draft design of a tank I'd love to see made. They make new gimmicky stuff all the time but this one actually makes sense and I'd gladly pay $99 for it, again it could switch between tight MTL and DTL with restrictors.

A few spare tanks and you'd be set until some revolutionary new design idea comes out because there hasn't been any major positive change in RTAs in years IMHO.


another major problem finding with some MTL tanks (skyline, spica, haven't got into my kayfun clones yet) is that even with a tiny coil it can contact the roof of the chimney section and cause all types of error/short problems and cause threading to be stiff or not tighten fully. But I do not want to sacrifice juice capacity for space but it can be enlarged (same with stupid minuscule post screws) and still have good capacity - there are many tanks of same height and diameter but some hold like %60 more than the other and about same size deck.

This time I am reviewing the Ursa Quest Multi Kit, sent to me by Lost Vape. This is what I call a MacGyver kit, you will see why very soon. Once again, I am happy to share once again my personal opinions with our vaping community.

Mod

The URSA Quest Kit is the latest entry to the Quest series from Lost Vape, it has a zinc alloy frame with either genuine leather or solid wood to form an elegant and stunning kit. It offers Ukiran, Crocodile, Embossed leather (the latest is a limited-edition series) and Wood Series. Mine is the SS Purple-Heart Wood.

It offers a new generation of the Quest chip with additional three boost levels, two vape styles and three user records for a highly customised vaping experience. The URSA Quest kit gives a maximum power of 100W, larger capacity pods, a 510 adaptor which can take up to 30mm tanks without overhang, and a new series of coils (UB Pro Coils) and a larger RBA coil. The mod can take one 21700, or 20700 and 18650 with the battery adaptor.

At the top we have the pod. At the front it has at the top one of two buttons to unlock the pod/510 adaptor, under that we have a big and clickly fire button, a 0.96” TFT colour screen, below the screen are the up/select/down buttons and the USB C port. On one side at the top is the airflow control ring, the purple-heart wood and at the bottom left side “Lost Vape” branding, at the back at the top is the other button to unlock the pod/510 adaptor. On the opposite side it has airflow control ring, the purple-heart wood and at the bottom right side “URSA Quest” branding. At the bottom it has a screw one battery door with vents, and it has clear markings for battery polarity. I just wish the minus sign would have been coloured.


The URSA has a two buttons release/clip system with spring loaded clips which secure the pods and 510 adaptor in place. The connector in between the spring-loaded clips is a proprietary one, it has an excellent connection with the pod and the 510 adaptor.

To release the pod or 510 adaptor you must press both buttons at the same time and to place a pod or 510 adaptor hold them together and press down the pod/adaptor to make sure they click in place.

NOTE: The user should make sure it is connected properly, if you see any gap press the button and push down the pod/510 adaptor until there is none. I did see a gap on one side, it still worked fine but I like to play it safe, so I made sure to push down that side until there was no gap at all.

In saying so this could be a problem of the pre released versions and it might not be an issue with the retail ones.


Also, worth mentioning that the kit comes with only one airflow control base which screw on the pod, so if you want to swap pods between the Ursa Pro pod and Ursa pod you need to unscrew the airflow control base and screw it onto the other pod. It would have been great if they provided one for each pod in the kit.

The display on the mod is simple, bright, and easy to use. Love the select button which eliminate the need to use the fire button for selecting options.

To on and off the mod press fire button five times.

To change between the menu options, you press the select button, once what the user wants to change is highlighted in red (mode interface) using the up or down button you can move between the different options on the screen, if power is selected, press select again and using the up and down will give the following options:

• Power – 5W to 100W
• Bypass
• Voltage
• VPC
• NI (TC)
• TI (TC)
• SS316 (TC)
• SS904 (TC)

Once in the mode interface if you press the select button will move to the options under each one, up and down buttons to change for example temperature. To exit the mode interface, press the select button.

If back to the main menu using the select button and user there three different personalised settings can be saved and retrieved at any time.


In the main menu, once the Pod is highlighted red you can change it to mod and use the 510 adaptor. Also, you can change the boost mode from Soft to Normal or Hard. If you select settings, you will see the following:

• Atomizer – Information
• Screen – Adjust brightness
• User – Set three user records to provide a highly customised vaping experience
• Reset
• About – Firmware Version
• Back

If buttons up and down are pressed at the same time it locks and unlock the device while the mod is still able to fire.

Ursa Pods

The URSA Ques comes with two pods Ursa Pro Pod (7ml) with 810 Drip tip and the Ursa Pod (6ml) with 510 Drip tip, uses press fit coils and it has a rubber plug on the side of the pods to fill, the fill port is large so I didn’t experience any problem filling the pods. If the user wants to use their own can fit those drip tips with O-rings on them.

The adjustable airflow base screw on at the base of the pods. The pods are slightly tinted but I can still see the juice level, it can be harder with low light or at night.


The coils provided including the extras are:

• UB Pro P1 Coil 0.15ohm – Rated for 70-90W (for use with Ursa Pro Pod)
• UB M4 Coil 0.2ohm – Rated for 40-60W (for use with Ursa Pod)
• UB Pro P3 Coil 0.3ohm (SS904) – Rated for 60-70W/260-290C/500-550F (for use with Ursa Pro Pod)
• UB M2 Coil 0.2ohm – Rated for 20-28W (for use with Ursa Pod)
• UB MTL Coil 1.0ohm – Rated for 8-15W (for use with Ursa Pod)

Always remember to prime coils first, press fit the coil into the base, then screw on the airflow base, fill with juice of your choice, and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Just to make sure the coil is fully saturated.

I used first the UB Pro coils, this are mostly DL coils, at those high watts the vape became too warm for my liking. In saying so the flavour was excellent and for sure both are cloud room fillers.

With the UB coils (which are used in previous devices like Orion, Gemini and Thelema), there is a wider wattage range available, so I could use and adjust the airflow with the knob to my require airflow for a not to warm RDL. They are good but flavour wise the UB Pro coils have the edge here. The UB Coil 1.0ohm is the only MTL coil, I am not a MTL vaper, but I will call it a loose MTL.

Both coils series are great, but I prefer the UB Series so far, mainly because these coils allowed me to vape at lower wattage with a cooler vape.


UB Pro RBA Deck and 510 Adaptor

The 510 adaptor will allow you to use this device as a mod and attach any tank of your choice up to 30mm, well-constructed, solid and with Lost Vape branding on both visible sides.

The UB Pro RBA deck came with a 510 adapter to build on, test resistance, dry burn and get rid of hot spots (this is great to see), also came with two pre-made coils, spare O-rings, additional screws and two shoelace cotton strips.

This DIY coil is a single coil RDA it features bottom airflow, the provided coils is 3mm ID, I made sure the coil was centre over the bottom airflow and slightly raised, dry burned and got rid of any hot spots, then I used one of the provided shoelace cottons, cut to the bottom edge of the wicking ports (blue O-ring), thinned the wicks by fluffing them. Wet them to get it started, placed the top threaded ring. I am now using this RBA deck on the Ursa Pro pod. Wicks great, no dry hits and I can control better the wattage and airflow I want to satisfy my vaping style. Great flavour and plenty clouds.

I have to say this RBA was easy to build on and is an excellent choice if you don’t have stock coils or prefer to build your own.

In conclusion, I would really recommend Lost Vape Ursa Quest Kit, is a very versatile device (a MacGyver kit). Stunning looking mod with several designs to please every vaper in term of taste. It has plenty of accessories to cover a wide range of vaping styles and preferences, pod/mod, and a several coils available including an RBA coil which I love. We all know how Lost Vape produce gorgeous looking mods and this is no exception. Well done.

I absolutely love this tank but the coils are lasting a day or two most I’ve gotten was 2 days. Is this normal?? Because it’s getting annoying and expensive. I vape constantly with a few minutes in between puffs. This is the first tank coils I’ve ever had do this. Any ideas or suggestions?

My name is Gigi, 33 years old from Romania and now while making this first post i am thinking to myself how i did not see this forum until now. I have started vaping about 4 years ago with the help from two Joyetech EGO AIO and a PRO BOX Mode,also from them.

I have vaped for close to two years then after switching to a desk job i have started smoking again, this time rolled cigarettes. Since the lockdown due to COVID 19 i had to search again for an alternative to smoking ( buying stuff from the online shops was the only solution at that time since going outside was not an option ) ,and i embraced vaping again, this time for good.

For my second chance at vaping i have decided that i want more than a AIO so i have started with a Vaporesso Revenger X , got something for stealth vaping outside of home ( Nautilus 2S so i have also a MTL ) and as of recently i also got a Swag 2 kit so i can give my Nautilus a nice pair as secondary device . I am also making my own ejuice with supplies from the online shops in Romania so i am pretty sure i will never go back to smoking again, vaping became more than a way for me to get my nicotine, it is now a complete hobby.

I am looking forward to learn a lot from you nice guys ( and gals ) since i am planning to go the rebuildable route aswell in the near future and also interacting with nice people that have the same love for vaping as me.

I bought a VooPoo Drag S approximately one-and-a-half months ago, and have been using it mainly on the wekends, during late afternoon/early evening enjoyment of a couple of beverages. I was a cigar smoker until recent dental implant surgery has put that vice on hold for a few months. My Drag S came with a PnP0.2 ohms and PnP0.3 ohms coil, and the person from the vape shop I bought my VooPoo put in the PnP0.2 ohm coil. The device has a wattage setting of 5W to 60W. I use only Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET) cigar blend e-liquid, 12mg from Black Note. This brings me to ask the group three questions:

1. What is the difference between the two coils?
2. I keep my wattage set to between 12W and 16W and the salesman from the vape shop recommended not going much above that. But why a lower wattage if it has an upper limit of almost three times that?
3. Regarding Mouth to Lung (MTL) and Direct to Lung (DTL), as the cigar smoker I was/am, I don't inhale into my lungs. I take a nice long drag just inside my mouth and slowly exhale, and an occasional French retrohale through the nostrils. Given this usage, what would be recommended for a coil, and wattage setting?

First impressions:

I must say that when it comes to design, Hellvape almost always manages to characterize its products with style, trying each time to improve the previous devices also technically, showing appreciable commitment and love in their work.

However improving a good RDA is not easy at all, what you can do is try to make it easier to regenerate, study the thickness and quality of the materials to reduce the operating temperatures, or obtain a regulation of the AFC as wide as possible to capture the smallest nuances of flavor.
These are the first thoughts I got from seeing this HellVape HellBeast RDA for the first time.

For this review Hellvape sent me two different color versions, one "Gunmetal" and the other "Blue", the first thing I thought was to install this RDA on the recent Hellvape Trishul V2 Mech Mod device (color Copper), do not the colors matched, but the result of the combination (Copper / Gunmetal) satisfies me.



In the "exploded" view below, to begin describing this new Item I have put the Drip-Tip in the foreground. In fact this is one of the first updated details that are noticed.

In practice, the Hellvape technicians managed to keep the Drip-tip very short (7mm like the previous ones), the difference is that it has been widened at the bottom, to create a sort of insulating and protective barrier for the lips.
During the vape, involuntary direct contacts with hot metal become less frequent, the feedback is positive and appreciably comfortable.



In the image below we can see some details such as, for example, the external sleeve with seven (opposite) air passage slots, in total there are 14 slots, 10 are rather high and 2 on the sides are lower.

As you continue to examine this image, you notice; the Drip-Tip with differentiated section, the edge of the knurled Top-Cap, the sealing ring, a part of the innumerable (72) feed holes, or the new "Dislocation Post Deck" design.



The airflow holes (72 x 1.2mm) by rotating the Top-Cap increase and decrease, to allow a wide variety of adjustments.
Their angle of inclination is 15 ° downwards.

The walls of the Top-Cap measure 2.5mm thick in the thinnest part, at the top they even measure 5mm.
This explains the weight of 45gr and the good thermal dissipation of this Hellbeast RDA.

I'm going to make my own twisted pair wire (2 x 26ga) Using steam engine but don't have a clue what to input for twist pitch (distance between ridges mm) Can anyone suggest an approximate value to use (before I actually make the wire)? If I look up pre-twisted wire, would it list this spec?

Are they a myth? Do they actually exist? I applied for them 2 years ago with no response. I do not see them on the forums. How can I reapply? I don't see where now?

Well you know me,I'm always trying to help.

So anyway this friend of mine (works at the gas station,only part time thou),anyway i talked him into quitting smoking.

I wasn't using my Sceptre so i gave it to him so he could start without having to spend much money (apart from the e-liquid) and he has been using it for about 2 months.

Same as me when i started with a similar apparatus now at this moment he is craving something ''more''.

Poor guy is in a similar situation as me,his sister and him are taking care of his mom and he only works part time so he doesn't make much money.

I did win in Reddit a long time ago a giveaway and got a Luxe mod which i haven't used because call me crazy but i don't like double battery mods,just makes me uneasy.

Well anyway,i will give him the Luxe and now i was thinking of how he could upgrade from his Innokin Sceptre.

He is definitely a DTL vaper so i was thinking that he should get a Sub-Ohm tank.

Guy doesn't have much cash so i want to make sure he gets the right product,he already has the mod i am given him and the e-liquid that he DIY,just needs to buy two 18650 batteries and the tank so he can start vaping in style.

I do know he is a DTL vaper,by the way he vapes and he explains it to me i am 100% sure but i still don't know what wattage he will be into thou that is why i want him to have options.

So cutting to the chase,I'm looking for a good solid Sub Ohm tank that has a wide choice of coils to choose from.
I say this because personally i tried some high wattage sub ohm vaping and it's just not for me but i do want him to have the choice.

Ideal Sub Ohm tank would have several coils to choose from,maybe start him off with a 30w to 40w range coil and then if he needs more well he can just get coils that use a higher wattage.

Apart from that,you know the usual,no leaking,easy to change the coil,good solid and sturdy tank etc etc.

Would appreciate some advice on this because things rough for him at the moment,wish i could buy the sub ohm tank for him but as usual I'm also struggling a bit so the tank i tell him to buy has to be the right one.

So to summarize:

-Sub-Ohm tank
-Good quality
-Easy coil change
-Wide selection of coils ranging from ''low'' wattage like 30w to sky is the limit 80w/100w.

One of the atomizers that I always wanted to have in my collection is Hellvape's Hellbeast Hybrid Tank.

Although this Tank has been on the market for a long time, for one reason or another I have never had the opportunity to own it.

Thanks to Hellvape for sending it to me in early December for Christmas, along with the latest new product (Hellbeast RDA), which I will review soon.

First impressions:

This atomizer, the result of the collaboration between Hellvape and Beyond Vape, appears immediately built with care.
Weight is often synonymous with strength and here the weight is considerable. The first thing I wanted to check is the type of opening for the refill, I was afraid it could be one of its weak sides, but I was denied as its opening is sufficiently "braked", so it will be very difficult for the Top-cap can be opened unintentionally.

Even the threads seem to run smoothly, both Drip-Tips, both 510 (with adapter) and 810 are sufficiently firm, the air ring (multi adjustable) is precise and equipped with limit switches.

The spare parts supply is sufficiently rich and includes several 0'ring, a pyrex glass, a Mesh-coil DL and a robust adapter (Nautilus-coil) in steel.



On the bottom of the Tank we find a gold-plated pin, slightly protruding, to complete it there are the writings; "Hellbeast", "Hellvape + Beyond Vape" and the inevitable logos & brands.



In the image below we can see the arrow indicating the opening direction of the Top-cap, to be able to refill.

We can also see the end of the chimney, which has an internal diameter of 6mm, the same internal diameter as the nautilus coils!
The Drip-Tip 810 is mounted without an adapter, while the beautiful Drip Tip 510 in Derlin for MTL must be installed together with an adapter supplied in the kit.
This adapter always has an internal diameter of 6mm which contrasts a lot with the very small passage hole of the Drip-Tip for MTL ... So a step is created that could create condensation accumulation problems.
I preferred to use the original Nautilus Drip-Tip 510 which does not create any steps.



One of the reasons I've always wanted this atomizer is for the incredible amount of coils on the market it can use!
At the beginning of my vape I soon met the exceptional Nautilus MTL coils which are still valid after many years and successfully re-proposed by Vaptio with their Cosmo kits.

Over the years I have also encountered the good performance (DL) of the first Baby-Beast coils by Smok, followed by Vaporesso, Eleaf and many others, this huge quantity of coils from various brands then underwent a very positive evolution with advent of Mesh technology.

Think ... This Helvape Helbeast Hybrid can accommodate dozens and dozens of coils from different manufacturers with different types of vape (MTL / DL), perhaps many of these coils slept in the drawer of many vapers ...
