Target PM80 won't stay on!

So, add me to the list of PM80 owners who are having problems with the unit shutting off randomly. The only way to get it to turn back on is to plug it back into the charger for a moment until the unit powers on. This has pretty much rendered mine useless, as it will usually turn off after a minute or two of use.

Aside from taking up my case with Vaporesso, has anyone learned of a tried and true way to eradicate this problem? I'm pretty militant about keeping my pod and unit dry so there must be some less obvious options to consider, right?

Any help would be appreciated.

Disclaimer: The Voopoo Argus GT kit was sent to me by Sourcemore for review.

Design & Build Quality: Argus GT Mod
The Argus GT is a dual 18650 battery mod. It comes in a hard plastic case.

Taking it out of the box, my first thought was how small a device it is. It’s very sleek. Measuring 51mm x 26mm x 85mm (without the tank) it fits very nicely in the hand. My second thought was how light the mod is. On my scales it weighs 104.5g without batteries and 193g with batteries.

It has an overall rectangular shape, but the body narrows in where the front panel is.

The top of the Argus GT has a 510 plate which is offset to one side. This means that the curve of your tank matches up with the curve of the mod perfectly. You can fit tanks up to 24mm in diameter without any overhang.

On the front on the mod you have a square shaped fire button which is nice and responsive.

Below the fire button is the colour OLED screen. I have found the screen to be nice and bright, even in direct sunlight, and it has a good resolution too; all the information is sharp and crisp.

Below the screen are the up and down adjustment buttons. Again these are nice and responsive when using.

On the sides of the Argus you have a plastic frame which is painted to look like metal. It’s silver at the top and fades into black near the bottom. There is then a leather or material cushion that stretches around from one side, over the back and to the other side. The Argus GT I have has a leather cushion and it makes the device very nice to hold, it’s very comfortable in the hand. It doesn’t feel as thick as the leather on an Aegis mod, but still very nice.

On the side to the right of the adjustment buttons is a USB-C port, which sits beneath a hard plastic cover. I like that the port is covered up; it stops dust / dirt getting into the port, and I never use them anyway.

The back of the mod, as mentioned, has the leather / material stretching around. It also has the Argus name as branding running down the spine.

The bottom of the Argus has the battery door. You slide the door to release the catch and it then opens to allow you to insert batteries. The door itself feels quite loose when open, wiggling to the sides, but once closed it is solid and doesn’t move about at all.

The battery compartment is snug, having no battery rattle once the door is closed

Overall, design wise I really like the Argus GT. I think it looks very sleek and smart. It fits beautifully in your hand and is a very compact and lightweight dual 18650 mod.

Build quality seems very high, the only thing that concerns me is the wiggle of the battery door when it is open. I’m not sure if it is intentional to give the door wiggle room when open to prevent damage. I just hope it holds up in the long run.

Features & Functions
The Argus GT is quite a simple mod to use. You basically have three modes to choose from: Smart, Rebuildable and Temperature Control.

Smart mode is the default mode, which reads the resistance of the installed coil and sets a recommended wattage. You can adjust the wattage, but it will give you a maximum limit.

Rebuildable mode will let you change your wattage freely; ideal for when using RDA’s or RTA’s with your own coils, as you will more often than not want to push your wattage more than what Smart mode deems as a high limit.

Temperature control lets you choose your resistance wire type from Ni, Ti or SS, then adjust your desired temperature, wattage, TCR value and resistance.

The screen displays your selected wattage or temperature, depending on which mode you have selected, along with two battery level indicators, the installed coil resistance, the voltage being drawn from your batteries (when pressing the fire button) and a puff counter and the time of your last draw in seconds.

Argus GT Button Combinations
  • Five clicks of the fire button to turn on / off
  • Three clicks of the fire button changes firing mode:
    • Smart mode (limits wattage based on coil resistance)
    • Rebuildable mode (no limits on wattage)
    • TC - Ni, Ti, SS (long press fire button to select highlighted resistance wire)
      • When in TC mode, pressing up and down together will allow you to adjust your TCR value, wattage and resistance.
  • Fire button and down button - clear puff counter
  • Fire button and up button - lock all device buttons
  • Fire button, up button and down button simultaneously - display chip ID
PnP Tank
If you have used the Voopoo Drag S or X you will be familiar with the PnP Pod Tank. Voopoo have been re-releasing some of their previous mods in kits with this Pod Tank included too.

The Pod Tank itself is made from a tinted PCTG, which is a plastic. Although tinted, it is very easy to see the level of your liquid in the tank. It is all one piece with an in built drip tip. It has very strong magnets on the bottom which connect it to the 510 base. The 510 base has an adjustable airflow ring, which spins freely but has a nice resistance to it to prevent accidental adjustments.

On the bottom of the 510 base is a gold plated 510 connection pin, which is fixed. It also has the usual regulation / safety marks and the Voopoo name.

Pulling the Pod Tank out of the 510 connection base allows you to fill the tank via the fill port on the bottom. It has a rubber stopper which you pop open and add your liquid. The fill port is big enough for standard eliquid bottle nozzles, but it’s not big enough for really chunky nozzles. I have had spillages from trying to pour liquid in from a chunky nozzle, which has caused an airlock and a bit of a mess. In the end I started using a syringe to squirt liquid into the tank.

You also change coils from the bottom of the tank. Just grip the bottom of the coil and pull it out, then push in a new coil. The tank does need to be empty or thereabouts to do this.

The Argus GT kit comes with two coils:
  • PnP - VM5 (0.2ohm) rated for use between 40-60W
  • PnP - VM6 (0.15ohm) rated for use between 60-80W

You can also use any of the coils from the PnP range, including the RBA PnP coil.

Since the tank is essentially a pod, I really want to dislike it. But I can’t. The built in drip tip is comfortable to use. The magnets are really strong. It looks really nice, being all one piece, and it’s really lightweight. Also, with Voopoo sticking to the PnP coil range, you don’t have to go out and buy a new range of coils just for this tank.

If you have multiple Pod Tanks (maybe from a Drag S or X) you can have multiple flavours on the go and switching tanks is as quick as can be; pull off one drop in a new one.

The Pod Tank is really strong too. I dropped it by accident onto my tile floor in my kitchen. A glass tank would have shattered. The pod just came out of the 510 base and bounced a few times. No chips, cracks or anything.

Performance
I first tried the 0.15ohm coil and at 70W with the airflow fully open it gives a wide open airy draw with nice flavour.

I next tried the 0.2ohm coil and at 60W with the airflow fully open it gives slightly more restrictive draw than the 0.15ohm coil, but still a wide open airy vape with nice flavour.

With the PnP Pod Tank you have to take into account that it is essentially a pod, the same as the ones found on the Drag S and Drag X. For what it is, it delivers good flavour, but it isn’t going to match a decent sub ohm tank.

In use I didn’t experience any leaking from the bottom of the PnP Pod Tank. What i do like is that even if a little bit of leaking does occur the 510 connection for the PnP Pod Tank can just be rinsed under a tap to clean it out.

Verdict
Firstly the Argus GT mod is a cracker in wattage mode (Smart or Rebuildable mode). It does what it’s supposed to do and does it very well indeed. It’s very easy to use, having the smart mode which limits the output power based on the coil resistance is handy for new vapers. Switching to the rebuildable mode to allow you to increase the wattage further is done with a simple three clicks of the fire button.

I don’t use temperature control modes so it’s not something that I have tested or can comment on.

The only little niggle I have with the Argus GT is that when the mod has stood without being used for a few minutes, it goes into a standby state and you have to first wake up the device by pressing the fire button then again to fire it. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve picked it up, pressed the fire button and sucked in nothing but air, before realising I need to press the fire button again! I suppose this does offer some levels of safety and it’s just a case of getting used to it.

The PnP Pod Tank, as much as I want to hate it (for being basically a pod), performs really well. It is very sturdy, surviving a bounce on my kitchen tiles, has a nice flavour and you can swap out Pod Tanks really quickly if you have more than one, allowing you to have multiple flavours on the go.

Then there’s the fact that you can use any coil from the PnP range, so if you have some lying around from previous devices they won’t go to waste.

My only gripe is that filling the Pod Tank can be a pain if you use chunky nozzles, due to the size of the fill port. Also, it is bottom fill which is something to bear in mind.

It seems like Voopoo are happy to throw the PnP Pod Tank on top of all their mods at the moment. I can see the thinking behind it too. They’ve got a Pod Tank that must be a lot cheaper to manufacture than a tank and performs well, so why bother designing and manufacturing a new stock tank which many will swap out for their favourite tank anyway. That’s what it seems like to me anyway.

Pros
  • Argus GT is small and lightweight
  • Argus GT is very comfortable to hold
  • Nice looks and design
  • Nice bright screen and resolution
  • PnP Pod Tank compatible with all PnP coils
Cons
  • PnP Pod Tank not as good as a decent sub ohm tank
  • Filling port can’t handle bigger liquid nozzles
  • Bottom fill so have remove pod to fill

Is Vaporesso FORZ TX80 Kit Better Than The Aegis Series?

Hey guys. This time let's look at the FORZ TX80 Kit by Vaporesso. You can get it from the vapesourcing – the best online vape shop soon. Here we go!

Vaporesso FORZ TX80 Kit is one of the few devices in the vape marketplace to feature waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof capabilities. This is important as over 60% of users are concerned with accidentally dropping or getting their device wet. Appearance-wise, the FORZ TX80 mod adopts a brushed metal texture with a leather grip for comfort. Inside the mod, you will find the latest AXON 2.0 chipset which features F(t) mode that changes the voltage and heating rate while firing. This results in a wider temperature range to keep the original flavor of your vape juice. At maximum output, the FORZ TX80 can achieve 80W of power from a single 18650 battery that is recharged via a Type-C USB port. This indicates that the charging process won't take long. And, if you need to make adjustments to mode or output, you may do so by way of the 0.69" OLED display screen with crystal clear font and easy UI.
vaporesso_forz_tx80_kit_80w_colors.jpg

The kit comes with either a FORZ Tank or RDA. For convenience, it can store 4.5mL of e-liquid and is easily refilled from the top. Plus, it is as rugged as the mod thanks to fiberglass plastic and high tenacity rubber which is sure to withstand drops from the hand. To have the best possible flavor production, the RDA utilizes GRT coils that bring a consistent vape experience. Moreover, these heads have anti-bacterial organic cotton for health and larger airflow to make each puff impressive. The entire setup is also leakproof, so swapping coils or just using the tank is sure to be a leakproof experience. Best of all, the coils install via an effortless pull/push system for easy coil swaps. With purchase, you will get a GRT 0.15ohm and a GTR 0.4ohm mesh coil, both of which should be used with standard vape juice for a DTL experience.

GeekVape Zeus Nano Tank review - small but not weak

Well, not long ago, Zeus was shown to us in this costume, but now he has a younger brother. Will the legendary range of repairable tanks eventually be transferred to unmanned areas? Let's wait and see, but now enjoy Zeus Junior - GeekVape Zeus Nano Tank.
geekvape_zeus_nano_tank_22mm_front_view.jpg

Parameters
Body material: stainless steel
Atomizer type: maintenance-free
Vaporizer resistance: 0.4 / 0.6Ω
Capacity: 2.0 / 3.5ml
Diameter: 22mm
Height: 56.55mm with drip type
Connector: 510, pin gold-plated

The emergence of novelty naturally decides to execute in the corporate style of the production line-which is understandable-the advertising model, yes, the continuity of generations must be maintained.
geekvape_zeus_nano_tank_22mm_filling.jpg

In general, the GeekVape Nano tank looks quite good, and its unique characteristics can only be called "waist circumference". Otherwise-in height-this is far from the smallest sub ohm tank item on the vape online market.

got some (Propylene Glycol Free) ejuice, but its too sweet and thick. How do i thin it out?

Hello all!! So i bought a bunch of flavors from Kai's Virgin Vapors. By far the best Propylene Glycol free ejuice I've ever had imo. so the problem is its too thick and sweet. Google says add distilled water?? what do u guys and gals think???
so, i waas mixing it with other flavors with thinner consistency like Naked 100's Very BerrytBerry and Lava Flow and it tasted great BUT it obviously DEFEATS ths whole purpose because we all know Naked 100 has propylene glycol and I'm trying to be propylene glycol FREE!!! Any and all help how to get the best mixture with really any mix FREE of Propylene Glycol but this Kai's Virgin Vapors seems to be the one if i can just figure out a way to thin in out and not make it so sweet (google suggests simply distilled water but i trust you guys over Google any day! How many of you all are concerned about Propylene Glycol at high temps??? (we all know it turns into formaldehyde at the wattages we vape at. ) even though PG is in many products we eat and what no , it's unclear what effect is has while being smoked at high temperature.
Basically, even though Kai's Virgin Vapors is expensive, I've bought almost $300 worth of their ejuice because i don't know if they'll have to get rid of ceetain flavors because of what is going on with the ban! the,"vapocalypse.". Im trying to figure out the best mix of Kais Virgin Vapor. Google says add distilled water. see pic attached please. the Flavors are great but without the PG, they are sooo sweet and thick and just need to be thinned out a bit. I think i know what to do but you're help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

MRI

So I had an MRI done Today on a Sprained Ankle that Hasn’t Healed Properly.

(For Anyone who has Never had an MRI, they are a Trip.

They ask you about 5 Different Times and on 3 Different Forms if you have any Metal in your Body. Finally, after answering “No” for the Last Time, they put Earplug into your Ears saying it is going to be Loud. Then they slide you into this Tube and tell you have to remain as Absolutely Motionless. And that if you Move, even Raise your Arms or Move your Head from side-to-side, it could Blur the Image so they might have to do that segment again.

Once they leave the MRI Room thru the 6” thick door, the Machine does some Random Beeping. As well as some rather Loud Occasional Thumping. And they Slide you in or out of the Tube an Inch or so. Which is somewhat Unnerving because you Didn’t know they were going to do that.

Then they say something over the Speaker to you, which of course you Can’t really Understand because you have Earplugs in. It sounded kinda like “We are ____ to Start ___ Sequence”. But It also could have been “We are ____ a Major Problem ___ the System”. Which Isn’t all that reassuring.

Then the Tube Starts Hammering and Thumping like it is Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs. I’m talking Noises that just Scream at your Primal Senses “Danger – Danger. Get Away. Something is about to Explode”. All the while you keep trying to remain Motionless. While every Nerve in you Body is say’n “Get the Fluck away from this Thing. Its gunna Blow”.

This goes on for like 20 Minutes with Brief Periods where the Machine doesn’t do anything. And you just lay there wondering if that is Smoke you Smell coming from the Machine? Or Maybe it is coming off your Ankle?)

When it was Over, the Tech came back in thru the 6” Thick Door and instead of say’n… “OK. You Did Great.”, she say’s… “Do you know you have a Piece of Metal in your Heal?”.

Say What? I was like “No. I Didn’t. What is it? Like a Splitter or Something?”

She then has this Puzzled Look and said… “It’s about the Size of a Splitter. But it looks too Perfect to be a Splitter. It Looks more like a Piece of Wire. A Very Small Diameter Piece of Wire.”

LOL

With a Very Straight Face, and a Mental Image of the a Snipping Off Coil Legs of 316L SS, I said… “That’s Strange. How would something like that get in My Heal?”

She explained that many people will get a Metal Splitter in their Foot. And if they Don’t get it all out, your Body will Encapsulate it in Callus Skin. And you might have it for Years without knowing it. But an MRI can see it.

So as I Hobbled out of the MRI Lab in my Sigourney Weaver Loader Boot, I Chuckled that I might not Know yet why my Ankle Hasn’t gotten Better. But I do know what Happen to that Coil Leg I got in my Heal, and thought I got out, about 6 Months Ago.

Closed/Sold Is ther such a thing as a charitable organization for donating vape gear?

Hello all, long time no see. I began my journey on this site, and first started vaping in 2012, successfully quit the weed but kept vaping until I had an accident that led to my retirement and multiple surgeries. I have not really been able to tinker with my vape gear for years, so my gear ( all mid to high end ) goes unused and unappreciated. My question to this Group is, is there such a thing as a charitable organization I could donate my vape gear to? I would love to put great gear in someone’s hands who otherwise could not afford quality gear. I say charitable organization because the least I would want from my donation is the tax credit. Let me know photos on positive info and request. Check me out I used to buy and sell here with 100% positive reviews

Review of the SWAGIEST Swag kit of them all SWAG II!!

Okay Please don't tell me I am spamming. For one, on the vendor site, I had the title wrong for a LONG time so I reaily emphasized my error above. Also the vendor site made sense to me but they asked me to post it in more standard places, such as here. So I might change a thing or two for FUN but nothing really about the review. It really is my new favorite vape I can't vape in the house because it makes too much darn fog. It's also not as thirsty as I feared. Coils may become a necessity.

So, ah yes, it is possible to carefully review a product that you LIKE and then title it incorrectly. As I have said before, I exist to make other people feel better, so the rest of you reviewers out there can feel GREAT! My apologies to the Swag II because I bet it's better than that old Drag anyway (Drag vendors and sellers, I invite you to prove me wrong. Just so I could see if I could get at the names right.) BUT ONWARD AND UPWARD.

Onward--to the stuff I already wrote! I also will try to insert thumbnails appropriately

Okay. I was offered a request to review the Swag II and things being how they are, I decided, why not go for it? Purchase and view kit here: Vaporesso SWAG II 80W Mod Kit With NRG PE Tank 3.5ml

This device was sent to me by Health Cabin and it arrived faster than I imagined it would. I did not know much about this kit. So prepare to be shocked! Not just, as I was by the Swag II and it’s fairly great awesomeness, but also I took -picture! Tons! Some, you can see. LOL.

In any case I picked it at random knowing Vaperesso is upping its game. It arrived in the following package:

Thumbnail 1:KIMG0047.JPG

Intriguing, right? So you slide the box off and Vapresso gives you more mysteriousness by its black covering which contains directions (not that they are really needed it’s fairly easy to operate and the menus make sense) and I was like… ooh.

Thumbnail 2KIMG0048.JPG

So in this next picture, you can start to see the device, there are instructions as far as checking the authenticity code that seemed fairly high tech. I will admit I did not get into that due to the “Fairly high tech” I mean…. It’s pretty authentic I am guessing that HC would not send me a clone to review. L kind of trust them. But you can (and maybe should) given the days ahead and all that.

Thumbnail 3 KIMG0051 (2).JPG

So I dug the mod out first and I was like, is that am internal battery? It was so incredibly small. I have some comparison pics with a Thor Almighty (where yes you can see proof of my “creative/lunatic/strange habit of protecting my tanks with hair ties.; For those of you who think it’s a lunatic move, well. I am sorry to tell you I have broken ONE tank since I started this practice, and I have like SO MANY tank backups I hope to never need. It also happened because I FAILED to replace the hair tie after washing. So,. Make of it what you will.

Thumbnail 4: KIMG0054 (2).JPG

I like it. Anyway. The Almighty may not actually be fair as a comparison but come on, look at the Swag II? Does it look small? It IS small. I can hide it in my hand and I have small hands.

I am going to prove pictorially a battery DOES fit in there. See? The threading is smooth and once the battery is inserted it feels great in the hand. It’s a bit like a Pico that does not suck (my sincere apologues to Pico owners but I have owned three and I hated them all. With that said, it’s not really a fair comparison because frankly I am fairly sure an ancestor cursed another ancestor on the Joy4tech team, and well, nothing goes right. NOTHING.)

Thumbnail 5 KIMG0059 (2).JPG

So Pico comparison aside, this is lovely smooth construction. I still can’t get over its small niceness.

From the Vapresso Swag II Website if you want specs:

Presenting the second generation of SWAG, giving you more power in the palm of your hand. By adopting a special formulated rubber coating, it is now even lighter and more durable, with a hand feel that will give you next level comfort. AXON Chip inside brings you the incredible PULSE mode, giving you 5x more power in every inhalation. The upgraded GT4 MESHED coil brings dual meshed cores to increase contact area giving denser more flavorful clouds. SWAG II: defining SWAG!

• Ergonomic Curve• Rubber Coating• PULSE Mode• GT4 Meshed Coil• Maximum 25mm diameter tank

So having proven a battery will fit in there, we will move om to the tank. The installed coil was 0.18 or something and the mod wanted to know if it was a “new load” or mot. Here. I had to refer to the instructions. Because the up down button is on the side, and I needed it to say: New Load.

To be frank, that coil was intimidating, so I psyched myself up and said, “Anna you have vaped plenty of 0.5 RTA coils before and I stuck (the 0.5 also included coil) in there and filled it with my “shake and vape” Bavarian Cream Pie recipe which is one of my favorites I haven’t vaped it in a while. I wanted to give the SWAG II tank a fair shot;. I will admit I filled it up only halfway, because I was nervous.

The tank was also very solid and has a nice hinged tog fill as you cam (maybe) see In this pic. Pay attention to the top fill because if you use the other coil in this sucker you will need it—frequently. IDK if there is am expansion tank or not but I would personally get one. If there is… Sigh. Mu review skills. Gonna check.

Thumbnail 6:KIMG0063 (2).JPG

Okay so I received the 2 ml version but, there is a 3.5 version and I would say do THAT. There is also an NRG 5 ml tank but it is 26 mm the max dimension for the SWAG II is 25 mm. I don’t think you could overhang, due to the battery situation so just fill I guess.

I have to be honest I expected my eyes to cross but I was able to get a smooth, not too hot vape from this coil and the flavor was really. Really good. I think that must be the mesh. It was also astonishingly cloudy if you ask me. But again for a MTL person I don’t get to use much PG. I expected to want to trash the tank but I don’t feel that way at all, I kind of want 50 more 0.45 ohm coils for it, the flavor and vape was so good. Bad mews for this chick who really doesn’t want to buy more coils.

The only thing bugging me was the vaguely tailpipe drip tip. It’s not huge or anything but it’s not my cup of tea. However, to my delight, a smaller drip tip was easily inserted. My vape got AWESOME then. It really did.

Thumbnail 7 KIMG0071 (2).JPG KIMG0096 (2).JPG KIMG0097 (2).JPG

I am going to skip over my experiences of the other coil because I do not subOhm. I just…. Don’t. So, it was kind of how I expected but I will say this is a surprisingly versatile tank with plenty of airflow adjustment it’s easy to use. And even with the 0.45 tank I blew CLOUDS and they were cool, so they did not make me cough and the flavor made me very. very happy.

Happy User: Yeah I look like hell. That is what Ambien w/d will do to you. BUT note the cloudiness. That is what I was going for.

Thumbnail 7 and 8

Pros: Tiny! Take it camping! Take it to your mother-In-laws house who hates vaping tell her it is tiny she has nothing to worry about then start a family fight (Thanksgiving is coming up!)

Take it out in mature and enjoy the lovely flavor with no one judging you and you don’t have to wear a mask!

Take it to work, but make sure the bathroom has a fan. I don’t really RECOMMEND that but you could. Maybe. Pick a bathroom appropriate flavor.

The mesh gives such a well rounded flavor. Flavor you would mot expect from this tiny thing!

All around excellent construction from Vaperesso which has come far and fast and is surging ahead.

Put any 25 mm or less tank on this mod. It will work just fine and you get a small tank with good power.

Cons: I need to buy some coils now. I guess that could also be a pro.

Really. For these coils, 2 ml tank is not large. Either buy the bigger tank or bring your bottle with you and welcome to the TTP where they are sane about vaping except these little details. Guess you can’t have everything. But the battery will last longer than the joose I am thinking.

Otherwise I really have nothing negative to say about this setup. It’s fantastic! As other reviewers and I have found out to our detriment, l am a picky vaper and if I hate certain aspects I will says so blatantly. I am gonna be honest. I had a very hard time hating on this setup, and if I did you would KNOW.

You can in a pinch USB charge this sucker but really not recommended; Unless you have to annoy your MIL some more. say, and your battery gets low. I understand! Sometimes you gotta do what you have to do.

My thanks again to Sue from Health Cabin who provided this setup. You can purchase it Here:

Aegis Boost Luxury Edition Picture Preview

Hiya,

Received a Boost Luxury edition to show you guys.

This is not a regular review since if its about the device itself not much changed compared to the original boost, this is more of a picture preview. My original Boost and Boost RBA can be found here:

AEGIS BOOST REVIEW BY SP013

BOOST RBA POD BY GEEKVAPE

So, let me mention the two differences between the Regular Boost and the Luxury. First, color options, the luxury edition has new and more premium looking colors than the regular boost. Also, the boost luxury edition includes a key chain of a tiny boost in the packaging. And that’s it, all the differences.

Colors are much nicer on the luxury edition my opinion, the one I received looks really stunning with its nichrome metal skeleton. Beautiful. Below are some other color options available:

If its about the vape, its completely the same as the regular Boost, so a more in-depth review can be found on the earlier mentioned link. Great tiny vape, good flavor, proper longevity, IP67 rating and no leaking.

Price wise the Luxury edition is slightly more expensive with its 40.99$ vs 39.99$ for the regular boost (prices from official geekvape store), it is up to you of you want to pay a dollar more for a more suiting color and a key chain.

Special thanks to @Geekvape_Official for sending me this kit.

Thank you all, have a good day!

Vaporesso SWAG II 80W Mod Kit with NRG PE Tank

Hi ECF members, In this review i take a look at the SWAG II 80W Mod Kit with NRG PE Tank from Vaporesso. The Vaporesso SWAG II 80W Mod Kit with NRG PE Tank was supplied for the purpose of this review by the Healthcabin.

https://www.healthcabin.net/vaporesso-sw...22815.html

Introduction

The Swag II has been out a while now and was the long awaited upgrade to the original Swag, my review coincides with the release of some new colour/design options although the one i received is an original colour.

The original Swag many believed was the smallest and lightest single 18650 device at the time and had a side positioned navigational rocker and both a fire and mode button along with the screen on it's face.

The Swag II keeps these features along with the same light weight, small form factor and Pico style top battery cap but has the same anti skid finish and operating system as the Gen so many who might not be familiar with the original Swag will see this as a baby Gen!

My standard kit came paired with the NRG PE while the TPD version comes with the SE variant of the NRG tank and has mentioned the device includes all the bells and whistles features of the Gen including Pulse, Smart TC and Eco Modes, let's give it a look!

___________________________________________________________________

In The Box

Contents

1pc SWAG II Mod
1pc NRG PE Tank (3.5ml) NRG SE Tank (2ml, TPD Edition)
1pc GT4 Meshed Coil
1pc GT CCELL Coil
4pc O-ring
1pc USB Cable
1pc User Manual
1pc Warranty Card

___________________________________________________________________

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Swag II arrived in the usual style of cardboard box packaging that Vaporesso products come in and i received the Rose version and although i personally have no issues with Pink (the new black) this actually starts Black at the bottom and fuses into a deep Rose colour which is almost Red! The original colour options are Rose, Green, Purple, Silver, Black, Blue and Red, while the new colour/designs are Flame Red, Phantom, Lava, Zebra Yellow, Camo Grey and Carbon Fiber.

The device keeps the same light and small ergonomic form factor as the original Swag, with Pico style protruding battery cap up top. The device has the same anti-skid finish as the Gen giving it as much a baby Gen look but still stays true to the original Swag with side navigational rocker and both fire and mode buttons on it's face.

The main form factor difference is on one side to the front of the device we have a bulging curve which in my opinion adds to the form factor aesthetically, as for describing the device in anymore detail i will leave that to the photos!

___________________________________________________________________

The Differences Between The Swag And Swag II?

As well as obviously having the latest chipset and features which is a big difference between the 2 devices as the gap between the two releases must of been about three years the other obvious difference is the Gen like anti-skid finish.

The other main differences is the buttons protrude more, this is most noticeable with the side rocker as on the Swag this was indented into the side and even though i have quite small fingers i found it awkward so it must of been a real issue for someone with chubby fingers, now not an issue at all. Finally we have that front curved bulge which is the difference between on the Swag II being able to fit up to 25mm tanks rather than being limited to 22mm which was the case with the original Swag!

___________________________________________________________________

NRG PE Tank Specs and Features:

(TPD version comes with NRG SE 2ml tank)

Dimensions: 25*50mm
Capacity: 3.5ml
Coil: 0.15ohm GT4 Meshed Coil (50-75W), 0.5ohm GT CCELL Coil (25-35W)
Top-fill
Bottom adjustable airflow
Thread: 510
Colours: Blue, Red, Black, Silver

___________________________________________________________________

NRG PE Tank Overview

The NRG PE Tank is yet another rendition of the NRG tank which seem to of been around as long as Vaporesso, it takes the GT coils which have grown into a vast range of coil heads. It's diameter is 25mm and has a capacity of 3.5ml and for this reason the TPD Kit comes with the SE version of the tank which has a smaller diameter and 2ml capacity (a 4.5ml bubble glass is available).

We have a Delrin 510 drip tip up top so you can fit your own but there is a raised ridge so some you try might look a little funky. We have a swivel open fill method and a guide arrow but also the top can be unscrewed for cleaning purposes or to replace the fill gasket, the fill port is a good size so no issues filling!

We have large dual cyclops airflow on the base which also has nice machined knurling and this base section screws off, well actually it's the top of the coil head that unscrews from the chimney. Once the base is unscrewed the coil head can just be screwed in or out the base section! You do receive spare 0-rings and fill gasket as well as two different coil heads but unfortunately no spare glass!

___________________________________________________________________

The Coils

As mentioned like other versions of the NRG tanks both the PE and SE take the GT family of coils of which two are included which are the 0.15 dual mesh recommended from 50 to 75W and the 0.5ohm CCELL which has SS wire so can be used in TC which is recommended between 25 and 35w.

There are plenty of other coil options available:

___________________________________________________________________

Swag II Specs and Features:

Dimensions: 50*25*75mm
Resistance: 0.03-5.0ohm
Output Power: 5-80W
Charging Current: DC 5V/2A, Micro USB
Display: 0.91 inch OLED Screen
Chipset: AXON Chip
Battery: 1*18650 (not included)
Tank Compatibility: Max 25mm
New modes: Pulse, Smart TC and Eco
DIY Mode: VW, VV, VT, Curves, Bypass and Super Player Modes
Thread: 510
Original Colours: Rose, Green, Purple, Silver, Black, Blue, Red
New colour/Designs: Flame Red, Phantom, Lava, Zebra Yellow, Camo Grey, Carbon Fiber

___________________________________________________________________

Fitting The Battery

The Swag II accommodates a single 18650 battery which gets fitted by unscrewing the battery cap situated on the top opposite the 510 plate. This is a real space saving way of fitting a battery as part of the battery can protrude higher than the main body allowing for a smaller device. Orientation is both labelled at the bottom of the battery tube and underside of the cap and although quite often i find the threading a bit crunchy with this style of battery cap on the Swag II i received it screws on and off very smoothly, nice job!

___________________________________________________________________

The Display

We have a real contradiction with the Swag II being such a feature rich innovative device yet as a very basic Old School style screen which still appeals to many and i believe this is quite deliberate as it makes the whole device less overwhelming and quite easy to navigate.

The screen is bright and sharp and the brightness can be adjusted. Top left we have a single battery bar and also within the battery status bar we have the remaining charge given as a percentage. Underneath the battery bar we have the resistance and then below the resistance the puff counter which shows the duration of your vape when firing. Central and taking up most of the display we have the wattage, temperature or voltage depending which mode you are in and then top right we have the mode.

___________________________________________________________________

Navigating The Swag II

The Swag II is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off and once on 3 clicks of the fire button locks and unlocks the navigational and mode buttons but when locked the device will still fire. Holding down both the mode and fire buttons together brings up an information screen giving serial number and firmware version.

The menu is very old school giving a row of icons which when you try to carry on scrolling past the last one displayed if there are any more in that section then the others appear on the screen, the last icon is always exit and also having a mode button the whole system is easy to navigate even if sounding complicated when i try to explain it.

To enter the menu you can either long press the mode button or click it 3 times and it brings up the following options, Pulse mode, Power Eco, Smart TC, DIY Mode, System Set and Exit.

Choosing either Pulse mode, Power Eco or Smart TC takes you to that working screen and i will go through these features later. Choosing DIY Mode brings up the following options Variable wattage, Variable Temperature, Variable Voltage, Custom Wattage Curve, Bypass, Super Player Mode and Exit.

Curves, Variable Voltage and Bypass are all straightforward and Super player mode is a feature that Vaporesso have included for a while now where it allows you to fire down to 0.03ohm and something i really don't care for. Choosing Variable Wattage gives you the choice of Normal, Soft or Hard pre-heats and Variable Temperature first allows you to choose your wire type and then allows you to alter the TCR, set wattage for temp control and lock resistance.

The Final option in the main menu is System Settings which allows you to reset your puff counter, set vape time allowed, adjust brightness, turn smart wattage on or off, flip the screen, turn automatic eco on or off, set device to default and finally bring up the same information screen that can be accessed with the mode and fire button together from the working screen.

The device adjusts in 0.1W increments from 5W right up to 80W but if you hold the button it switches to 1w increments and moves at a speed of knots but it doesn't round robin.

___________________________________________________________________

The New Modes

Well not actually new anymore as they first appeared on the Gen but still worth another look. I do find the fact the device by default is in Pulse mode and the first tier of the menu system is the three new modes and to use the standard Wattage, Temperature modes etc are further within the menu system a little strange. I do understand why it's been done this way as Vaporesso are showing faith in these new features and trying to push them but i still think it should of been done the other way around. The more i use devices with the Axon chipset though the more i enjoy these new features and see it less of an issue!

___________________________________________________________________

Pulse Mode

The idea of Pulse Mode is to give you more consistent power so instead of your initial fire which once it hits set wattage can dip in Pulse mode it's continuously firing every 0.02 seconds up to 500 times in one vape giving consistent power.

Pulse Mode is the Swag II's default mode!

___________________________________________________________________

Power Eco Mode

When in Power Eco Mode it optimises your settings despite that you are still setting the settings, if you are in other modes it will also ask if you want the device to use Eco Mode when the battery life gets down to 40%.

Why when it sill uses your settings does it become so much more efficient and why not efficient in the first place? I can only go by my experience but i have used this mode on both the Gen and Gen Nano and have noticed little if any improvement in battery life!

___________________________________________________________________

Smart TC

When using Smart TC and you first attach your atomizer it fires the atomizer for a micro second and scans the information. It recognises wire type and ohms extra and automatically gives the best TC settings for that coil. When using Pulse mode it also fires and scans the atomiser and if it's a TC coil asks if you want to use Smart TC, likewise if you have the device in Smart TC mode and the atomizer you attach doesn't have a TC compatible coil it will jump the device out of Smart TC and into Pulse Mode. I absolutely love this mode and have used it with the Gen often and tried it out with the included CCELL with this kit and it works great!

___________________________________________________________________

Protections:

Overtime Protection
Overheat Protection
Short Circuit Protection
USB Input Protection
No Load Protection
Overcharging Protection
Resistance Protection

___________________________________________________________________

Charging

As always i never recommend charging the battery in the device unless it's your only option although if you do the Swag II supports 2A charging so will charge very quickly, sadly not a Type C port though!

___________________________________________________________________

My Experience Using The Swag II Kit And Thoughts!

What a great little kit this is, so small and compact with such a nice ergonomic feel yet can accommodate up to 25mm tanks. The NRG Tanks have been used as kit tanks for years by Vaporesso and there must be half a dozen different variants but they all take the GT coils which are amongst the best stock coils available and the GT family range has grown to be vast.

The NRG PE tank was slightly loud but the airflow was smooth across the board, i have used both coils previously and the 0.15ohm dual mesh coil head i find suited to a semi restricted draw which is airflow three quarters open at 60w which gives a warm flavoursome vape. On this occasion i used the 0.5ohm CCELL as it's one of my favourite stock coils available period and this i always vape at 28W with airflow half open for a tight restricted direct lung vape, flavour is excellent!

The star of the show is the Swag II which isn't surprising as it functions like a smaller Gen which many quoted as "best mod of the year" in 2019. I like the Pulse Mode idea and indeed it does give a very consistent vape with no drop in power but then the Omni chipset i always found did that in normal power mode so i did also compare to the normal variable wattage mode on the device and although this is not a con for the Pulse mode but more of a plus for the Axon chip in general i could tell absolutely no difference between pulse mode and normal wattage.

All the usual modes worked great including curves and having variable voltage is another plus, i didn't use the normal TC but absolutely love the Smart TC mode which worked great for me and allows vapers to vape in TC without having to set anything.

I also love the looks and feel of the device and it's lightweight allows it to be a great option for out and about especially for MTL vapers using a MTL RTA. All the buttons including the fire button have a nice quiet cushioned feel that oozes quality and it fires in an instant with great ramp up whichever mode you use.

I also like how the form factor has been slightly altered from the original to allow up to 25mm tanks to fit and the more protruding buttons means navigating the device is so much easier compared to the original Swag with it's indented side navigational rocker.

It's a bit disappointing this doesn't have Type C USB but it does support both 2A charging and pass-through, the device is also firmware upgradeable.

Captain PD270 old firmware downloads

Hi there!

Having trouble with my captain. I'm using it in power mode and when firing voltage jumps at first from ~4 volts to 6 volts and above. Moving like crazy almost all the time im firing it. Running aromamizer plus rdta with dual coil 0.3 ohms. Contacts are ok and no hotspots. Tried with a rda and does the same. And also tried with Troll rta.

Tried to google some older firmwires with poor results. Found only some old thread here but it is closed so couldnt reply there. There was someone who had older fw but last replies are from 2017/18.

Thanks in advance

Kizoku Techmod - A clean looking side-by-side

The Kizoku Techmod is the latest mod from the Kizoku company and enters a market segment which is making a big return, the side by side mod. SIngle 18650 based with the usual regulated features but goes down a more cleaner minimalist style.

Looking for suggestions for tanks and or coils

I've been using Kangertech Protank 2 clearomizers with an Eleaf for a few years now. I generally vape at 5 - 6 watts and under 4 volts with 2.4 ohm coils. I'm really tired of coils lasting only 2 - 3 days sometimes whether they're genuine Kanger or rebuilt ones. Sometimes the genuine ones taste nasty from the get go and sometimes the ones I rebuild don't work at all with the error message "no coil" or "atomizer short". I like the clearomizers but I'm thinking I'm pretty limited to what coils I can buy for them. If a person wanted a coil that would last at least a week, even in a different type of tank, what should I be looking for? Or isn't there such a thing? Thanks in advance.
