How is the airflow adjustment? I gave up on the Cthulhu V2 because the ring was so loose it couldn't hold a tight setting for more than a minute. The inserts should make that less of an issue on the MTL though.
The airflow adjustment seems to be very average for this type of rda however if you are using the inserts the AF control becomes kind of unnecessary as in my opinion with the smallest insert it is VERY restricted a bit much for me however I like the medium insert with the AFC wide open which gives me a slightly loose MTL draw which is perfect for me. However if you wanted something kind of in between the AFC should be able to offer even more adjustabilty.

I already have the merlin mini which is a good mtl tank for me, I might get this cthulhu mtl also.. Would love to compare both tank. The cthulhu chamber looks smaller though, better flavour in my opinion. Well, in the cart it goes.. Hope my wife doesn't notice my new toy.. :headbang:
My initial feelings are that I like the merlin a little bit more however it came across differently

I have one on the way as well. Don't recall any of these issues being brought up in
other reviews.

@Sed8op8 Have you experienced chronic leaking and gurgling?.
I have .... However it is not a constant thing so i am hesitant to point the finger at a design flaw. I rebuilt it this afternoon using a bit more cotton then I usually do and was very careful screwing the deck and chimney section together as there is an Oring there that is extremely easy to get caught up if its not properly placed and or lubed. It has not leaked or gurgled at all even after refilling which was a problem before and I will update if there's a change

Food for thought:

Someone on another forum mentioned that the Diamond Shaped wick tips might have something
to do with the gurgling/flooding he experienced. He/She claimed to encounter none of these issues
with the wick tips left flat/even.

So after a couple more builds and a bit of trial and error I have gotten to the point where I am not gurgling at all even after refills. One of my issues is that with most RTAs I build I only tuck the cotton lightly into the very top of the wicking channels making sure when looking through the wicking port I can barely see my cotton if at all.

With the cthulhu mtl that does not work for me. I use 3mm id coils and make sure to comb out my tail ends so the cotton is nice and fluffy and I make sure the tails are securely placed inside the channels. Now be careful because you do not want to stuff them but just make sure its securely in there and that you can see cotton through the wicking channel. As long as the cotton is loose and not jammed in there it should wick perfectly and also keep it from gurgling.

Also as was mentioned earlier in the thread the next thing i do is when I refill this little guy I fill it almost all the way. This tank is weird as the kidney shaped filling ports sit very low and juice is actually meant to be filled up and over the ports and almost to the top lip of the tank. This is the first RTA I have used that does this and I am not sure why but it works so I'm not going to question it too much.

If you take the gurgling out of the picture this RTA is easily up there with my favorites of 2016 and provides an excellent MTL vape.

Good luck my fellow vapors
