The short answer is safety in handling and perhaps comfort zone. So 100MG has the greatest potential for harm to you but is also the cheapest. Their is nothing wrong with starting with either 24MG, 36MG, or 48MG NIC. It's your comfort zone. Most experienced DIY geeks use 100MG.

Your going to "cut it down" (with PG and or VG plus flavorings) so you will need a calculator. Many available but my fav free calculator is eJuice Me Up

NIC + Carrier should only be purchased from reliable and trusted vendors.

Safety comes first:

Gloves – five or more
Mask – one
Safety Goggles – one
Lab Coat – one

Good luck.

Some use nic in a percent that divides easily for their desired final percent. Say you vape 12 mg/ml juice. The 48 mg nic base dilutes down easily.

But using the calculator Senior linked makes it easy as well to dilute down from, say, 100, to any concentration you like.

As mentioned, good safety precautions are important to your health. While if you mix at, say, the kitchen sink, where you can rinse your hands immediately, you certainly don't want to get any in your eyes!
