For what it's worth the clones don't look too great to me. The quality of the original outside of the glass is top notch though and a relative,h complicated design.. But the glass dimensions are certainly very very close to what's listed in this thread. Close enough to call it a measurement error one way or another they had the length at 25.4 I think instead of 25.52

I should have it 7-10'days. Wednesday next I'd guess

Also for those who use rayon. Does it have an initial flavor that goes away ultimately like most cotton? Or is the way it tastes pretty much locked in? I can't tell if the juice tastes different because it's not polluted by cotton burn off or because it is polluted with rayon burn off.

My giant spool of supposedly 316l sure is working well with the 304 profile in the evic mini. I'm guessing it's 304 or lower than 316 and the eBay seller got it wrong

Either that or the temp coefficients are almost identical

Anyone know what page has some tips for wicking this thing? I'm finding it temperamental... getting quite a few burnt hits.
all the info you need to get going...There are variations on the @qorax wicking method but it works for me with cotton!

As an aside, I don't wick it like that at all...I found this way works much better, for me ;)

I don't use too much cotton, I lift it up out of the horizontal channels and slide a little in, guiding a tiny amount down into the vertical channels also. Then I fluff the crap outta all the top head (lol), juice it up and then touch it up a little more :)

@dems86 glad you weighed in with that. I just put up Sir Q's vid as a starter and hoped that others might weigh in with their way of doing it. Its a good thing to reprise the variations in wicking of this thing I think as people seem to have issues! In fact I just remebered that my most recent effort more followed an Erlkonogin style minimal wick kind of method (albeit with a little more wick in the channels) which also seems to work pretty well.

I posted a problem I was having a few days ago. I'm sure it was really confusing so I made a video to illustrate the problem. Notice that the post screws in with the screw. I really hope it's not trash.

If anyone has seen this or knows how to fix it, please chime in. It sucks not being able to use my GEM. I have also sent this off to MB.

Thanks again...

That's a faulty unit. MB should be replacing it for you.

That's very similar to how I do mine. I use a thicker amount than you because I found if it's not stuffed and the side channels are somewhat open when laid on its side it can leak. Fwiw. Very close to how I do mine. I give it a cotton Afro

My wicking method with pictures is a bit back in his thread. It's a big post. You can't miss it.

I pull the cotton up and cut it horizontally with the screw. Stuffed. Wide. Fluffy. Wicks 90% vg and wicks 50/50.

With thicker juice you really have to go very short and get fluffy / thick in the middle.

Its a little disturbing that it does that at all. Suffice it to say it is faulty for sure!

edit: whoops didnt see @qorax reply above...

Too funny. Its your wick mate and you use it any way you see fit. I think the Muji-rights campaign is ideologically flawed. Now koh-gen doh is a different matter...lol!

Someone has to stimulate the American economy of staple goods. Buy local cotton!

Very good point and well said. I woukld support the UK cotton indistry if we had one but we dont really so I wont! I guess we still import US cotton though! Was thinking about trying to grow some of my own but the instructions kept mentioning 65F as a good temperature and something called sunshine (whatever that is) so I 86'd that idea...

I can't grow it because we live in 120F and have nothing but sunshine. My cotton would be dry burned or of existence. :)

Has anyone built a 1.5-2mm coil / microcoil and tried it in here? Proper micro coils really came around to
Maximize flavor. And not many people make what is truly considered a microcoil anymore but I wonder how it would do.

I'm now running into wicking issues again. I was trouble free for a while but lately it's been a pain again. Even doing it the same way. Must be he juice in using is extra thick for some reason.

My 2.4mmID microcoils at around 1.0-1.3 Ohms deliver splendid flavour and take enough wick for thinner juices, if i'd choose to use one.
I've done VG35 to VG70 juices with no issues.
