Hi

For the past few months I have been using a very basic vapourizer to help me to stop smoking. I am now looking to upgrade to a more powerful one, however I have got no idea which mod/tank to go for or how they work.

I THINK I am set on the Innokin Cool Fire 4 Mod but I have a few questions before I make the step...

Is the Cool Fire a decent mod and does it charge up with a usb cable or do they use batteries? (cant see anything on this in the description)
Are there any tanks you would recommend for this mod?
How does it work in regards to changing coils? At the moment all I do is replace the coil with a new one every couple of weeks, are mods more complicated than that?

I know these are silly questions but I don't want to go out and get one and then have no idea how to use it, thanks :)

Thanks for the quick reply!!

I am using a 1100mah 4.2 volt battery and I think the coils I am using are 1.2ohm?
I have 3 bottom dual coil tanks with a different flavour in each that I swap

It was very cheap but it has got me hooked! I am looking for something that makes the flavour better and has a long battery life. All of this adjustable watt etc... is confusing me at the moment but I'm sure I will get used to do it if that is the best way forward

I'm not very familiar with the Cool Fire 4, specifically.

I can tell you that it uses an internal, non-removeable battery which is charged with a USB charging cord. You can use any type of tank on this mod, and practically any resistance (ohm) coils you wish.

When unfamialiar with a specific device, I always look to see if Phil Busardo has done a review on You Tube. He's a very popular and experienced reviewer of mods and juice attachments who is very detail oriented. He gives the Cool Fire 4 a strong thumbs up. Final :thumb: and :nah: is around the 55:40 mark.

:thumb::thumb: for the CoolFire 4. 40 watts of power is great.

Tanks to look at:
1. Innokin iSub G (glass tank).
2. Kanger Subtank Mini (glass tank). Comes with stock coils and a RBA base so you can wrap your own coils if you want to.

I own both the Subtank Mini and the iSub (polycarbonate tank). I don't use "tank cracking" juice in the polycarbonate tank.
I love both the Innokin coils (iSub G/iSub tanks) & Kanger coils (Subtank Mini). Both work great.

Look at some YouTube reviews on these to determine which tank would work best for you.

Same procedure with the above tanks.

Thanks, I suprised my self to be honest. I thought it was going to be a struggle but the taste is so much better than tobacco! I haven't had a cigarette in roughly 4 months

That review has convinced me to get that mod, I like the fact that you charge the battery with a usb charger I am used to that.

I think I need to pick a tank to go for now, I am looking at the Innokin iSub but 'organic cotten coil heads' are putting me off, should I be?

Welcome, DCFC. The mod is good. Another range of tanks to consider are the eleaf
GS-Air
GS-Air M
GS-Air Ms
GS-Tank
Why? All are inexpensive, produce good vapor and flavor, and the coils seem to last and last, with no leaks or gurgles.

These coils all fit all the GS-Air tanks-
1.5 ohm dual coil
1.2 ohm organic cotton single coil
0.15 ohm single Ni, for TC vaping.

A few thousand positive comments, here: Eleaf GS Air Fan | E-Cigarette Forum

The Isub tank is really good for sub ohming but that is the only thing you can do on that tank. So it depends what type you want. Subtank mini does both

I saw the iSub G but was looking at the standard iSub because it is cheaper
Do you not rate the normal iSub?

One think I forgot to mention. Most of these subΩ tanks are designed for direct lung hits. You can close down the airflow for M2L inhailing but even fully closed down it may be more airy than you like. And if using a subΩ coil -- drop your nic level by at least 50%

If you are a M2L inhaler look at the GS Air Series of tanks. The GS Air M & GS Air MS are priced similar to the iSub but they are both glass.

It's cheaper because the tank is not glass and you cannot change the drip tip. Polycarbonate tanks will crack it you use cinnamon/citrus flavors (and others as well).

Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

'organic cotten coil heads' are putting me off, should I be?
No, organic cotton is good. You have to prime the coil very well the first time you use it.

Good point!

There is only 1 coil available so far for the iSub/iSub G tanks. It is a 0.5Ω coil.

While you seem to have decided on a good mod, the CoolFire 4, another possibility, perhaps for the future, is the Heatvape Defender 50w. Generally, it is similar to the CoolFire 4 and various iStick non-tc mods, with one major difference. When the CoolFire or iStick dies, after a year or so of use, and some 300 recharges, it goes to the dump. The Defender 50 has a replaceable battery. It also charges with a usb mini cable.

Good point. The internal non-replaceable batteries are also not-safe-chemistry, meaning that they tend to go up in flames should the battery go into thermal runaway. They depend solely upon the protection circuitry of a regulated mod.

External replaceable batteries can be IMR batteries, which are safe-chemistry... and although they may still vent hot gas, they generally don't go up in flames. These are generally safer batteries.

seems like you have already chosen a good mod. for a tank you may want to consider this $9.22 SUBTANK Mini V2 Styled OCC Clearomizer - 4.5ml / 1.2ohm(12-25W) / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping it has a glass tank, replaceable coils available in both 1.2 and 0.5 ohms and if you decide to start building your own coils an single coil deck is available $2.97 Replacement Rebuildable RBA Plus Coil Head for SUBTANK Mini Clearomizer - 0.5ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping shipping with this company is a little slow if you use the free shipping option but USPS shipping only cost about a buck extra and using this shipping option I have received my orders in less than 2 weeks. good luck and welcome to ECF

When purchasing off FastTech (located in China) a couple of other things worth mentioning.

1. When the description says "style" it's a clone. "Authentic" is the original.
2. Read all reviews & discussions on the item you are looking at. That will tell you a lot about the product.

Thanks for your advice everyone I have decided to go with the cool fire 4 mod with a iSub G tank :thumb:

Now just a couple more questions I promise

The Mod kit that I am getting comes with a eGo/510 thread adapter, now am I right in thinking I won't need this if I am using a tank made buy the same company?

And the tank comes with 0.5ohm coils is there any thing I need to know/change if I am going to be using these?

Thanks Susan I am currently smoking at 2.4% so I will go to down to around 1 :)
