Cappy, I still use some of the A7s too, but if you can get one, nuppins from pdib are my new favorite:)!! Mostly due to the better machining and heavier metal, but more expensive attys seem to work better.

I've been wondering if it is because of the higher quality of the rubber insulator for the middle positive pin on the more expensive units is the difference, since I can't figure out why they work better, the designs are so similar.

Ahoy all, happy Friday.

Is there a website somewhere for this nuppins? Google failed to give me anything tangible, just some discussions about it.

they are only sold by another modder here on ECF. there have been 2 runs, and both have sold out. i believe the only way to get one now is from the classies.

... at least unless i can convince dibby to do a 3rd run :)

Yes, Pdib works like you... that is, he's not a shop, and does custom orders. In the case of the nuppin, he has a machine shop make them to his spec, and the runs are limited in size. The Nuppin is a slightly modified design, but basicly the same atty idea. Its big difference is an adjustable air flow and a missing negative post (you poke the wire directly into the base and screw it in from the side). I have never adjusted the air flow, I like it exactly the same as an A7... teeny hole:p. So I'm not doing anything different. The key is the quality and strength of the metal, and I still think the center post insulator...

Yeah .fright, I was having the same prob with the Trippy thread, but the last time I posted there, I started getting updates. I was completely paranoid I wouldn't get an update for the upcoming woodville sale from Reo Sales thread, but I did :hubba:

So, I guess my link for the nuppin wasn't very helpful, Cappy  if your interested, we can alert you for the next sale...

Ahoy all, hope you all had a good weekend?

Well, last of the visiting relatives have headed home, nice and quiet here again. I wish my mother could have come down but she is 80 and lives in northern MN and doesn't travel anymore.

I have two desk caddies that I am going to try to finish tomorrow and get them shipped, then I have one more Cutlass40 to finish and get on the website.

Have a great week all, take care,

Cappy

Ahoy!

Well, I caught up on desk caddies and am finishing up repairs so I can get back to the batch.

I've also ordered more DNA40 boards. If anyone would wish a DNA40 instead of a clone dna30, I can now do it for the remaining mods.

So, here is an updated list of the mods;

One Cutlass waiting for a DNA40 to be installed, CT#3

#1 is Redheart with a Ebony layer, DNA40 small screen, SOLD
#3 is African mahogany with a Bloodwood layer, DNA40 small screen, $265

#8 is African mahogany with Redheart panels, DNA40 large screen, SOLD
#9 is African mahogany with Cocobolo panels, DNA40 large screen, SOLD

Next up are three Cutlass's that will get the clone 30 watt regulators. The electronic modules for the cna30's are complete and just need to be wired in. CT#2, CT#5, CT#6

If you want it made with a DNA40 small screen board, add $30 to the price and it will take time for the boards to arrive, be installed in the wooden electronic modules and installed into the mod. They haven't even shipped the regulators yet.

#2 is Black walnut with Cocobolo panels, CNA30 small screen, $245 ($275)
#5 is African mahogany with Cocobolo panels, CNA30 small screen, $245 ($275)
#6 is Padauk with Bocote panels, CNA30 small screen, $249 ($279)

Two Destroyers getting the CNA30 small screen. (or DNA40 small screen).

DE#4 is Curly tiger maple with Marblewood panels, $239 ($269)
DE#5 is Zebrawood with East Indian Rosewood panels, SOLD

If you want to call "dibs" on one of these, please shoot me a PM or E-mail. Also let me know if you want a flush catch cup or not.

If I get the dna40 boards installed before anyone calls dibs, they will simply go up on the website for sale.

Take care all,

Cappy

Expand your horizons matey, learn to use tanks! ( although I hate them myself, too dry)

Arrrr!
To dry and not enough air flow in any I've used. I've gotten too accustomed to dual coils with wide open air, full lung fulls in 3 second pulls.

I've flirted with tubes/tanks over the years, but I always end up with a bottom feeder in hand anyways. I don't fight it anymore :D

Currently using catfish modded Rogue, Derringer and newly acquired REMatty.

That's the Derringer with a Brads press fit DT on a Reo, my current favorite (and only one with a photo on my phone). Cool little bugger, but weeps out of the airholes while tilted in my lunch box. The Rogue and REMatty are top air so no issue with that there! I'll grab some photos when I get home of the other two.

This is the REMatty, kind of a pita to build, but works well and has massive airflow.

And the Rogue, easy to build and works great, 2nd string to the REM since the REM is still in "Oooh, new toy!" mode.

These top air a nice since they are darn near impossible to oversquonk and don't weep/leak when tilted, a benefit since mine roll around in my lunch box a bit at work. All three are 22mm attys so can't be used on my current RSM's, but I'm definitely saving for a DNA40 cutlass with a shaved catch cup!

While I'm waiting on parts, I re-enabled desk caddy ordering and I also made modification services available again. If you feel like getting a catch cup on one of your mods sanded flush it's now available.

Some of the older RSM's have the CC inset pretty deep into the top so I may have to sand off some wood too. If anyone reading this might like their CC sanded flush but aren't sure If I can do it to their mod, please post a pic and we can take a look.

Ahoy All,

I have been using the Kanger subtank on my Destroyer DNA40 and it a been preforming really well. Still get great airflow even in the Destroyers deep well. Been using both stock OCC coils and also rebuilding them using Nickel wire. I still don't have this DNA40 TC thing down yet. Sometimes it's the best vape I've ever had, and sometimes I could do without it. I guess this is going to be a Love Hate thing until I work this out. Really enjoying my Destroyer and getting lots of compliments!!
