Bought some SS pipe filters thinking I could use them for wicks on diy coils but the mesh is too coarse. Trying to reduce my dripping interval, which is 90% of my vaping, I rolled up a few, formed them into little doughnuts and pressed them around the atty bridge.Wow I now drip ten drops and vape away. No bad fumes and nothing to burn.

Hmmmm might have to give this a shot. I started on 808 cartos and then went to 510 atty. I really like the vape on the direct drip but HATED how frequent I needed to drip! I know there are options like bottom feeders but just hasn't been appealing to me.

Have you had any issues with heat?

Do you still get the same vape? meaning will it still fire as well with the screen being somewhat conductive?

The SS is not touching the coil just the bridge mesh so no conductive problem. So far no heat problem, if anything a little cooler, monster vaper. I am vaping a 5.5v 50/50 pg/vg menthol tobacco zero nic.

Cool! thanks for the info. I will definitely give this a shot.

Have some screens here but I think they are brass, not too sure. Would these be ok to try? or would have any idea?

Better to get some SS screens and not use the brass ones. Brass when soaked in juice starts to degrade and you wouldn't want to vape copper and zinc particles.

OH MAN! :D:vapor: Thanks BJ43, such a simple idea. Wish I woulda found this out sooner xD

I dripped 7 drops and not even a gurgle! no juice overflow at all:vapor:
Wish I had found this sooner also. I have tried so many complicated methods that didn't work and it all came back to what my dad used to tell me. Keep It Simple Stupid "KISS".

Yes the addition of lead makes it more machinable and so is likely to be found in hobby grade brass and harder to find out about. I was being optimistic about the lead, and since these screens are made for potable water usage, it probably isn't there but the bottom line is brass + juice = bad. The head shop won't have issues with brass as it is for a burning material and not e-liquid. But they should carry SS too, or try a plumbing section of a hardware store.

Added a third SS doughnut and putting the attmy on a paper napkin I dripped 15 drops into it. Let it sit there for half hour and no leakage. The drip tip I use slightly presses down on three doughnuts. Last me more than 45 min of excellent vapping. Each draw is like the first vape just after dripping and it stays constant draw after draw.

I dont see anything wrong with using pipe screens hell people smoke out of them. Pretty sure they don"t add lead to those. If i was going to do this i would have to use brass i cant stand the taste of stainless steel.

Well a previous poster says that the juice will degrade the brass. If those are for tobacco pipes, herbs etc, maybe those products won't react with brass the way the juice would? I have no idea if brass would i fact react this way.

While we are on the subject though, isn't an atty bridge just made of steel wool? Couldn't you use that to make these donuts?
