VaporFlask SX Battery Caps

Greetings ECF,
I have a new VaporFlask SX and I happened to notice that after screwing down the battery caps they had left "scuffs"/markings on the negatives of the 18650s. Would it be safe/recommended to sand down the battery caps to get them smooth and flat? Are the batteries still safe to use?
I'm assuming the batteries are safe just want to be sure.

Yes around the negative... so I have circles on the bottoms of my batteries that haveven formed from just closing the caps. I'm going to give some 1000 grit a try and see how it works out
