@VaPreis How do you get that much cotton in a NI200 28g coil? The wire is so soft I'd have that coil all pulled crooked by the time I was done. ;) I did put a 2 strand twisted 30g Ni200 coil in the KFV4 and it's a little stiffer to pull the wick through. I might try it in the KS.

I need to get some Ti wire in 28g & 26g.

Practice, I guess. I always keep the atty on the mod when I pull a wick through. That allows me to hold the mod in the palms of my hands, instead of trying to hold the atomizer. Keeping it on an Ohm reader works just as well if you happen to have one out for a fresh build.

And while pulling the wick through with thumb and forefinger on my right hand, I keep tension on the other end of the wick with the left thumb and forefinger. The tension on the backside seems to help it through whether it's kanthal or nickel.

I did try twisting 28ga nickel for a Lemo Drop, but the ramp-up time on the istick TC was to long for me to be happy with it, and went back to using a single strand.

Exactly... the KS tank is just slightly taller than the GS-tank.

I love this combo though I have had problems getting the wicking right. If I don't get it just right I get flooding and juice pours out the air hole.
I've got to be doing it way wrong then, I can get flooding but only if I cover the air intake and prime it.

@skrymir you were on PSF right? Hand made blades?

I've found that too much wick can produce dry hits and too little wick will give flooding. Took a few tries to get it right but I had flooding more than I had dry hits.

This is what's working for me right now.

And it must be a different skrymir because I don't know what PSF is.

That method send to be the way to go, I'll rewick mine when I get here.

Should work good now!

A nice little piece of Carbon Fiber wrap cut to fit would look good till you get a spare tank. :)
I've got a brand new replacement KS sitting in its' box until I get the "demo" model figured out. Besides, that tape isn't coming off,I laid it over wet super glue. I learned that trick after fixing my son's plastic toy guns. It holds pretty damn tight.

It looks like more cotton then I would use, but I don't see the harm in that, especially seeing as we vape differently. I think the key is not over-packing it at the top of the channel, and keeping the channel clear of cotton. Looks about right to me in your pic.

More importantly, how is it vaping now?

So far so good. More flavor than I've gotten from this atomizer so far. No dry hits yet. Where are you guys keeping your chimney set at?

I have hard time believing it really makes a difference as long as it's open, but I keep mine sticking up about 1/8" above the tank.

Backed the chimney out and the lack of flavor has been sorted. Had it open enough at first to avoid dry hits with normal pulls but my wick wasn't staying saturated on max VG. Now that she's opened up the flavor's coming through just fine. Flavor is not as intense as my Veritas but all the notes are coming through and it's a very smooth, almost delicate vape. Once I add some PG to my mixes and maybe bump the percentages I think I'll be quited happy with her. Hope we see more designs like this going forward. With a bit more airflow, better post design, and a stainless tank with a glass window I don't think it could get much better, at least for my needs.

Ive been eyeballing the xtank 4.0, awaiting the version 2 (v1 is premade coils only, v2 has an RBA deck). Similar design, with 10ml capacity. V2 appears to be dual coil, too.

I have the Xtank V2. It has the rebuildable section. I bought it at my vape shop about a month ago. Works great.

I wasn't happy with how my nickel coil was performing after a few re-wicks, so I decided to wrap another. I tried something a little different in order to get the coil closer to the air hole without having to bend it down to much. Instead of my standard direction of wrapping, I reversed it so I could mount the coil with the leads over the coil instead of under and still have the leads in a position to mount them clockwise around the screws.

Worked perfectly. the coil is much closer to the airhole without any major tweaking.

Sorry if this was obvious to everyone else. ;)
