Pima County may vote to refuse to hire smokers

This is really an aside, but on the site where I read about this, the article starts off this way: Somewhere, banning smoking for new Pima county employees became "Arizona policy will ban smokers from working within the state." I'm not saying that makes it a minor issue... just wondering...

Has the American ANTZ messaging strategy crystalized?

The New York Times article was pretty critical, too. It quoted two experts, neither of whom would back up Glantz. So, the score in the NYT is: Science 2 Glantz 0

E-Cigarettes Don’t Discourage Smoking Among Teens

Just in case anybody is wondering, the study mentioned in the article is co-authored by... ... you're really wondering?... ... Stan Glantz. So you pretty much know what you're in for.

Has the American ANTZ messaging strategy crystalized?

I think you're right about the children becoming the focus point, but I'm not so sure there's any specific agenda. I think "the children" are becoming the focal point because it's simple and easy to understand. Watch Stan Glantz confuse even himself when he tries to explain how more people...

Chantix not doing it for ya? Well then....

Here's a true story... value it as you will. I started taking Wellbutrin soon after it was introduced to the market. It actually worked pretty well for depression and host of other things, but... Doctor: Any side effects? Me: Yeah... but it's a strange one. I noticed last night that I...

Something new to worry about... kids don't call them "e-cigs" ... from the NYT

I've been away from e-cigs for a couple of years, but one thing that's clear... the "experts" are still way behind the curve on just about everything that has to do with the topic. On March 1st, the New York Times ran an editorial on e-cigs that contained this nugget: "Lab tests by the F.D.A...

Something new to worry about... kids don't call them "e-cigs" ... from the NYT

The front page of today's New York Times has an article "E-cigarettes, by other names lure young and worry experts." The gist of the article is that studies may understate the use of e-cigs by teens because, well... let's let a user explain: It's an interesting notion. Personally, I think...

White Rose Vaper's Club Meet-Up: Saturday, July 28th

I'm hoping to make it if it's not storming after work. If anyone has a spare atomizer for sale that would be great... sampling from a carto doesn't sound like much fun.

    Somewhat Obsessed...am I alone?

I spent a lot when I first started. But that was part of what made quitting so easy. As you mention, and I've mentioned numerous times myself, e-cigs are more fun than smoking.

How does your vaping time compare to your smoking time

When I first got an e-cig, I think I vaped more than I smoked (normally two packs a day). That's probably why atomizers only lasted a couple of days. Now it's not even close... I vape much less than I smoked. I seldom even carry my e-cig out of the house. Now I buy 10 cartos every three months.

White Rose Meet in Feb ???

Hi. Hoping to attend the March meeting... it's been awhile since I've been to one. I used a Provari and a Darwin for about a month. Provari won, hands down and it's pretty much the only thing I've used in the last six months or so. I still have the Darwin here somewhere if you want to...

    Saved money!?!? yeah right!!

I ran a big loss during my first months with e-cigs because I bought a lot of mods, juices and... for reasons unknown... I was lucky to keep an atomizer going for week. In that last six months, I've bought 20 cartos and I've been using liquids I bought before then. But... even if I'd had spent...

    Reflections on 1 year

February 8 was my 1 year anniversary of no cigarettes. I mostly quit about a month before that, but would smoke a pack a week or thereabouts, so I don't count that time. Some observations: 1. At least for me, I'll repeat what I said not long after I quit: e-cigs didn't make quitting easy...

    Bitcoin

I'd suggest doing some profit-taking at the first available opportunity. It seems as though the entire point behind bitcoin is to purposely create a scarce commodity (what could possibly go wrong with that?), thereby triggering deflation (one way to look at that is: a rise in value of a...
