Nah, we all moved to the stockpiling threads.
I've not heard of anyone using thread, but I have heard of people using "peaches & cream" yarn, so knitting stores might have to register as purveyors of tobacco products.No need to stockpile thread.

Have you looked at the Nuppin list? Keep in mind that I already have a few.
we used to use thread to re-align the air hole on the RM2. (some of us less sophisticated types, i mean)
got a nice long day in (12 hours, by the looks of it), and still finalizing 2 last 510 installs that needed a little extra attention.

oh, and i used to sew up the ceramic rope tips in certain applications. (this was with the early version stuff, that would fray where you cut it ... . if I was working w/ very short lengths, I'd put a few stitches in it before snipping it.)
