my 23g wire came in this evening. I figured out I wanted exactly 5.25 wraps on the 2.2mm bit and everything tight (i.e. no sloppy, unplanned legs). Turned out to be reminiscent of the good old days . . . in that, although they may look plain and simple, these here coils took quite a bit of doing. Nailed the shape and location I wanted. Missed the resistance again by about 7-8 thousandths of an ohm. I was shooting for .17 
Here's the 22g coil I pulled out next to the 23g in the atty. Same resistance, less wire. Less mass to heat, quicker kick time and better battery life (I think . . .. I'll see).
