So, the initial goal of most vapers are to get to 0 nic and stop, right? Who started on that road, got to 0 and they decided they just didn't want to stop? I'm moving down to 3mg from 6mg. (Soon as all this 6mg is gone) Thing is, I really enjoyed smoking and now I love vaping. The taste, the feel, playing with the clouds... just like I loved smoking. It's my few minutes/seconds of peace or something to do while outside or working on a project. Am I weird to think that even when I'm conformable with 0, I will likely continue to vape?

I intend to vape the rest of my life.

I smoked for 36 years, it's a hard habit to break, and no one has convinced me that vaping will hurt me. But I'm not going to 0 nic. My initial goal was to get off cigarettes. I've done that.

Times when I made 0 nic just to taste a new flavor, and I use it for a couple days to get the full taste of it; my brain clouds up, I think more clearly with a little nic in me.

TL;DR I don't think you're weird

I was trying to do that but when I stepped down from 6mg to 3mg I was vaping all the time. And I mean all the time I needed one of those dual beer helmets for my vape I was using it so much. So I went back up to 6mg and am happy there, I do know quite a few people who have stepped down to 0 with no issues. But having anxiety and a naturally high stress level I don't see myself dropping my nic again anytime soon.

Having said that even if I did drop to 0 nic I would probably still continue to vape because of the action of vaping itself. So you may find yourself in a similar situation where you don't need the nic but still enjoy the act of vaping. That hand to mouth action addiction is the real fight.

That never was my goal. I have lowered the strength of my nic but only because my body told me it needed to be lowered. Sometimes I vape high (16mg) sometimes low (6mg) and all strengths in between. Just depends on which flavor I am vaping at the time. Desserts just taste better at lower nic.
My goal was to put the smokes behind me and get rid of the mess they make. Vaping is so much tastier and much much cleaner.

Bipolar depression, anxiety, social anxiety... yeah, the nicotine helps!! 3mg may wind up being a bad move, if so, I'll go back up. But I'm going to at least try it. And same, my only goal was to put the cigarettes down. Pack (some days +) per day, 15 years, a month without a cigarette and haven't missed them at all. (It's a start at least)

I do not see much sense in vaping 0 mg. My short-term (a year?) goal is to reach 3 mg (8 mg now) at 5 ml/day. Then I'll see if I can turn vaping into recreational activity, a few times a week. May take another few years.
As was stated above, it's the fixation that has been rougher. I haven't missed the cigarettes, but I have caught myself holding pens like a cigarette or just holding it in my mouth, lol. Now I just keep my vape in hand or within arms reach. I will also state that I started at 18mg, then got my subohm setup(s). 6mg and happy. Initial goal was to get off cigarettes and nicotine, but with the breathing improvements, now I'm not so sure. The nicotine really does help.

Definitely give it a shot, you may have no issues. And don't be modest it's more than a start even at a month. When I think of how long I've been without smoking, I also make it a point to remember being a smoker and feeling so helpless to do anything about it. Back then if you would've told me I could go a month without a cigarette I would have wholeheartedly laughed in your face maniacally. :p

Try mixing that 3mg with the same amount of 6mg to make 4.5mg. Use that for a while. Don't try to move too fast.

I've actually been mixing my 6mg with a BETA juice that is only available in 3mg and have been doing ok with it so far. I still vape a little more than usual but the mix is so tasty I don't mind. :)

I started at 24mg 3 years ago and am now down to 3 mg - but not because I consciously wanted to reduce my nic. After vaping 24 mg for awhile, I found I couldn't get to sleep at night. So I went down to 18. That was fine for awhile, then the same thing happened, so I went down to 12. Eventually I got where I'm at - 3 mg - and I really don't want to go any lower. I like how nicotine wakes up my brain, just like caffeine does. And I don't think nicotine itself is any more harmful than caffeine as long as you don't dose yourself crazy with it.

If I get to 0 nic I am done with vaping. I see no sense in it. Why worry about charging batteries, building coils cleaning atties or anything else for that matter.

When I smoked I crushed the .... of the cigarette under my shoe. I feel the same about vaping.

3 years being smoke free if "smoking" was as less harmless as vaping is... I would rather smoke.

congrats you are doing great. I have been on 3mg for a couple months and will probably just stay there for the most part.

I was a smoker for 20 years. I have a very bad back. I have a stimulator inserted in my back. It's like a pacemaker for pain. So, anyway, last year right around this time my doctors thought I would need another surgery. They told me I needed to stop smoking right away or they would not operate. My one surgeon pulled me aside and told me all about vaping. It was under his suggestion that I started. He advised me to start at 12mg and work my way down. I'm down to between 3 & 6mg. 6 for when my days are really bad and my pain level is high. But I would never go to zero again. That feeling was horrible!!

Most people (originally) didn't start vaping to stop smoking or ingesting nicotine, we did it cause we just wanted to feel better, or save money.

Now, years later, I vape 4 or 5 -ish mg. And find I can easily grab the zero mg bottle and go a day or two without nic. But AM coffee, tea and drinking times I want a lil kick.

I dont have plans to quit, but if it happens oh well.

My plan all along is to taper off the nic and quit vaping.
I started in the 30's now vape 6mg/ml normal resistance, 3mg/ml sub ohm.
I don't push myself or worry about how long it takes, it is not a hobby or anything I want to do at all. For me vaping is just an alternative / replacement for cigarettes hopefully at some point I will be able to quit vaping without an urge to smoke.
