(Taipei Taiwan local paper) http://www.chinapost
.com.tw/taiwan/national/national-news/2014/02/14/400552/FDA-sees.htm
More on the CNA story yesterday about the Taiwan FDA's search to locate vapers who can tell them where they got their PVs. Story tries to assuage vapers that they are under no personal legal threat from Taiwan's ban on vaping as a prohibited uncontrolled drug delivery device. No junk.

(India nat'l news cite) http://health.india

Interview w/ local ANTZ is chock-full of junk, including FDA '09 study. Vaping isn't presently regulated in India.

Story characterizes nicotine chewing gum as a "new high". This is the first article that I've seen anywhere in the world that warns about nicotine gum.

(Amity MA US) http://www.amityobserver
.com/6504/vapor-from-an-e-cigarette-triggers-fire-alarm-at-high-school/
Story describes how three HS students triggered a school fire alarm by vaping in a bathroom. I wouldn't normally list something like this, but it's the first report ever that I've seen of its kind. No junk. Students were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Chaffree's proposal for an 80% tax on the wholesale price. RI is under threat, see yellow banner above. There's a link to a copy of Stier's testimony but it 404s on me.

(New Haven CT US local paper) http://www.nhregister
.com/opinion/20140213/editorial-e-cigarettes-ok-for-adults-not-children
Reprints a relatively junk-free editorial from a NM paper which supports NM's HB 15 (simple minor ban: see other story today). It looks like CT currently has no reg.s on vaping? Last year there was a CASAA call out on CT's SB 990 - if anyone knows what happened to this bill, please PM me.

(Harrisburg PA local paper) http://www.pennlive
.com/midstate/index.ssf/2014/02/electronic_cigarettes_e-cigare_2.html
Yet another entry in the Patriot-News' series on vaping. Discusses indoor vaping policy in the area. These stories tend to have incendiary anti-vaping headlines, but generally don't contain huge amounts of junk (by comparison to most mainstream media articles). I can't find any in this one.

(Miami FL US local paper) http://www.miamiherald
.com/2014/02/13/3933285/miami-moves-to-ban-sale-of-e-cigarettes.html
More coverage on Miami City Comm'ns unanimous vote to approve a simple minor ban on a "first reading." (It's not final yet.) Read between the lines in the story, and you get the idea that the ANTZ are advocating for a general ord. that would treat vaping as smoking for all purposes. Some junk. See more stories below at end.

(Columbus OH US NBC affiliate) http://www.nbc4i
.com/story/24717500/nbc4-investigates-hazards-of-e-cigarettes
Alarmist junky story on child poisoning potential from PVs. Contains some material from CASAA VP C.V. Phillips. Coverage of OH's passage of HB 144 - a simple minor ban which is now ready for Gov's sig. is at end.

(Bismark ND US - AP story) http://www.therepublic
.com/view/story/a39c408bf35447ea8120924c94937301/ND--E-cigarettes-Minors
Bismark passes a simple minor ban. Willison ND is apparently next. ND defines vaping as smoking for purposes of its clean air laws but apparently has no statewide minor ban. No junk, this is straight reporting.

(Wiliston ND US - local paper) http://www.willistonherald

More detailed story on Williston, with some junk re: minor use.

(Fargo ND ABC affiliate) http://www.wday

Vape store opens in Fargo. Local ANTZ quoted as saying that vaping "hasn't proven to be a safe alternative to smoking."

(Albuquerque NM US local paper) http://www.abqjournal
.com/352757/news/santa-fe-limits-ecigarettes.html
Report on SF's ord.s that an the sale of minors and define vaping as smoking for purposes of the indoor clean air ordinance (both passed unanimously yesterday). No junk, but what's fascinating is that the sponsor argued that both ord.s were nec'y to protect children.

(NM US - AP story) http://www.greenfieldreporter
.com/view/story/288e6deed1434bb1b057020151a4dbc6/NM-XGR--Electronic-Cigarettes

(Spokane WA US local paper) http://www.spokesman
.com/stories/2014/feb/12/shawn-vestal-raiding-of-tobacco-prevention-fund/
I don't usually post articles which don't mention vaping in this space, but I made an exception for this largely junk-free editorial which bemoans the raiding of the '98 Master Settleman Agreement funds for other purposes. Writer discusses the situation in WA.

(San Jose CA local paper) http://www.mercurynews
.com/fremont/ci_25137399/fremont-council-issues-moratorium-e-cigarette-stores-45
Story cites Fremont City Council's decision to issue 45-day moratorium on new vape store licenses. Chock-full of junk on minor alarmism, FDA '09 study cited. City Councilperson argues that neighboring cities have passed moratoriums on vape stores, so Fremont has to do the same in order to prevent them from moving.

(Stockton CA US local paper) http://www.recordnet
.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20140212/A_OPINION02/402120313/-1/A_OPINION
This ANTZ-written 100% junk-content letter to the ed. calls for a response from anyone who lives in CA. The title is "e-cigarettes are the same as cigarettes."

(SD CA US ABC Affiliate) http://www.10news
.com/news/san-diego-councilman-mark-kersey-proposals-to-regulate-e-cigarettes-021314
SD city councilperson Mark Kersey proposes that vaping be regulated as smoking - including an outdoor use ban in parks, etc. Justifications listed are: (1) gateway argument for both adults and minors; (2) safety of both vapers and bystandards. Junk in article comes from councilperson's quotes.

(Solana Beach CA US local paper) http://www.delmartimes
.net/2014/02/13/solana-beach-city-council-prohibits-e-cigarette-use/
City Council ammends local clean air ord. to define vaping as smoking; requires same retail licensing for stores that sell PVs. Some opposition. Article is chock-full of junky ACS quotes, minor alarmism etc.

More coverage of SD CA Councilperson Mark Kersey's proposed ord. to treat vaping as smoking for purposes of the indoor clean air ord. Many of the articles contain junk other than Kersey's quotes:

More coverage of OH vote yesterday on a simple minor sales ban (passed both houses). Some of the non-AP articles contain junk in quotes by legislators opposed to the ban, because it puts vaping in a separate category. ANTZ had opposed ban on the grounds that they wanted vaping to be regulated in the same way as analogs:
