When I started vaping, I gave up drinking for 2 months, cause I knew I'd have trouble out drinking without smokes.

After that it was no problem vaping and drinking.

And if you don't have enough money for good juice (btw, there's lots of good juice for cheap), you shouldn't be spending it on booze.

Sometimes when i'm drinking i find my regular flavour and strength isn't enough to satisfy. I normally carry a second set-up with either a menthol or cinnamon flavour in it for a bigger throat hit. Sometimes something as simple as changing the juice flavour will be enough.
What does surprise me is that you enjoy smoking after vaping for a week. I pretty much had to stop smoking after vaping for a while. Cigarettes tasted disgusting to me.

The OP writes that they haven't had a comfortable vape in months.

Vaping should be satisfying, otherwise it's obviously going to be extremely hard to quit 100%, if that's the goal.

Maybe it's the hardware, or maybe it's the juice, or maybe it's both, but my suggestion would be for the OP to keep experimenting until they find something that is satisfying and that works good for them.

I got a good tip from a guy on a youtube video, when you're out drinking, try turning the temp up on your mod for a warmer vape, I find it kinda satisfies that craving from a warmer throat hit you get with cigarettes. When you drink you're senses kinda get nulled, so pushing your mod a bit further will counteract that. That's what ive found anyway.

Any advice here? I would like to eventually get out of the cycle.

If you want to quit smoking, Really Want to Quit Smoking, and you Smoke when you Drink, why don't you just Not Drink for 2 or 3 Weeks?

Seems like if you could get some Time under your Belt away from Cigarettes that the urge to Smoke would be Much Less when you Drink.

You said it yourself, you are in a Cycle. Break the Cycle.

Finding that juice that still hits ya when you're lit up is hard. I use a plain menthol juice that smells somewhere between light machine oil and pure menthol. It is STRONG. The menthol burns the whole way down. Finding the right juice is CRUCIAL to keeping people actually off cigarettes. Some people need to replicate multiple characteristics of smoking - and not just a nicotine substitution. This is clear, as other methods of smoking cessation also fail because of this.

If your kit is bunk, you're not giving yourself the proper opportunity to knock that last day out. Find a juice JUST for when you're loaded. And if you are getting crappy dry hits, fix your gear. Vaping good juices, through optimum gear / set up - is SO good, a cigarette is the last thing on your mind. And it's hard to not want to do it all day.

You need to find that, and you will be fine. Until then. *shrug* and so what? You stopped smoking 6 days a week. Now perfect your art of vaping until that last day is gone too. Get there when you get there.

Most commercial pre mix liquids are heavily over flavored so you can dilute them substantially and they still taste fine. So mix liquid with the same percent of PG,, VG and nic as your commercial juice then dilute the commercial mix by 50/50 or 25/75. Your taste will get more sensitive and the straight pre mix will seem too strong. It doesn't get any simpler or safer than that.

So much this. I vape scratch DIY, but my GF loves a Halo flavor I could never replicate, so I buy it in 24 mg and cut it in half with PG. Another benefit is that the coils and tanks stay clean for twice as long.

As far as I can tell my coils are lasting indefinitely. They don't gunk up any more but do turn black and may be a fresh coil matters, not sure yet. I like do like to rewick every few days and I think I get the best flavor when the coil has a bit of a sizzle, meaning new.

18 months and I'm still learning.

It has nothing to do with your setup or juice. Lots of people that quit smoking have to give up drinking alcohol, too, at least until the association between drinking and smoking goes away. Drinking impairs your reasoning, so your resolve goes out the window and all you have left is habit. No amount of tinkering with juices is going to change that.

Good point, about the drinking impairing the reasoning.
