Here's a call for at least empirical research on this subject....

How many ml's of juice per 100 mAh? Might that not be a "better" average? I think it might be more meaningful. After all, what IS 1 hour of vaping? How many seconds per draw, how many draws per session... where does that hour even come from?

But if there's a ballpark estimate - and just pulling numbers out of the air, here! - of, say, 100 mAh per 1/4 ml, then a vaper could look at his or her topper, say a 5 ml carto tank, and think "hmmm, I'm going to need 2000 mAh of battery to vape this. Better take two..."

Tell them to get an eVic or an iTaste with a puff counter thingy.

The eVic. Talk about a device that just sits on the shelf. The only -- ONLY -- time we sell an eVic is when someone comes into the building with surgical, laser-precision and specifically utters the words, "I want to buy an eVic". Then we sell them an eVic. Otherwise, it's just a phallic looking oddity in our glass display.

Most of the people being told the 1 hour per 100 mah are new and using mini's or standard ego batteries. It's a good rule of thumb. If they're going to use LR, it'll probably reduce the amount of time by half.

But, people vape a lot when they first start. They aren't good at it consequently it isn't as efficient.

It's a good indicator on what type of pv to get or how many batteries.

That's a part of my spiel. I always tell new users, "You're probably going to vape waaaaay more than you smoked in the beginning. This is normal. The only time I wasn't vaping or didn't have my vape in my hand in the beginning was when I was sleeping."

This is still true, more or less.

Why aren't there inexpensive bottom-feeders? Except that it might be a bit of a hassle to change juices frequently, I'm finding these things dead easy.

There used to buy a young guy that made them in the Suppliers forum- for a great price. I think he was in school or went back to school.

I meant like larger vendors carrying them. I don't see how they would be more expensive to make than a plastic box mod.

Aside from the REO, I haven't heard much about bottom feeders and the few things I have heard were mixed, with leaking being an issue with some like the VMod. Love the size factor with 'em, but I've been somewhat reluctant to try one because of the mixed reviews. Unless the demand for them increases, I don't see them becoming popular with the larger manufacturers at all.

I would truthfully tell a newb,
With an initial investment of x dollars, I vape my fool head off and don't worry how much juice I go through, or how many batteries I have to charge (though 2 will last a day) it only cost me 27¢ a day to vape and I can now breath, smell, and taste.
As a new vaper, I would start with "this" or "that". It will last longer if you do "this" and may be more satisfying if you do "that".
There are better devices out there, but this is a great investment to get your feet wet and see if vaping works out for you. .

I got a wooden one as a collectible, not intending to use it much, but I like it a lot. Unfortunately, that was a problem since it is so pretty I can't take it anywhere. I ended up buying a Reo mini and I find it a great alternate vape to my tube mods. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I'm a dripper, so picked it up fast - it's like dripping upside down. Since I'm using my 306 dripping attys the flavor is very nice.

I actually won an free Evic at the AltSmoke grand opening in a promotional raffle drawing. I just knew I didn't want it, so I asked the store manager and owner could I exchange it for a less expensive mod that either I or someone else could use. They said no problem, so I chose an Innokin iTaste MVP.

I plan to donate it to my ex, who has been "stealing" my daughter's BB when she runs out of smokes. She's agreed to give it a try. The agreement is she keeps the MVP if she quits smoking with it; if it doesn't get used I get it back.

Does the puff counter take time into account? To me a puff is 1 second which I rarely do, but the point is that it is different from a 3 second drag or 5 second pull.

DOH! (Searching for the e-mail address for Sigelei product development...)

Some people is just too darned smart to embrace puff counter technology. :D

From what I've heard the counter (at least on some models) resets when the device is turned off.* Considering that might suggest to some people they are vaping too much, it seems counter-intuitive to the manufacturers' goal.

*As if anyone actually turns them off.

For some reason people don't seem to be interested in them, or even know that they exist or what they are. I understood the principle behind them, but since I had never been a dripper I never considered one.

I frequently would suggest some vapors look into them. These would be cartotank or clearo users who were having wicking/clogging issues with thick juices like Boba's Bounty. It won't matter how many holes you put into the carto, that juice is going to clog up the filler. Same with the silica wicks in clearos, they can't move enough of that thick stuff to keep up with a heavy vapor.

A possible solution would be to find a delivery device that doesn't use filler or a wick. Tah dah! A drip atomizer. But that seems old school, messy, and inconvenient. How about a bottom feeder box mod? Duh, what's that? I know RedHatPat and Bob57 got Reo's and that's all they use now. They love them. Fourthrock got a VMod and convinced me to get one, too. It's great. I use mine nearly as much as anything else that I own.
