It is refreshing to find a thread with a very popular suppliers juices being reviewed by a person who is giving their honest opinions and not getting bashed by those who disagree.Ive tried and enjoyed several flavors of KBV myself and I just had to comment on this review and reply thread. It is a shining example of the way reviews (good and bad) should be replayed to with honesty and not hostility.

Agreed... but with that said, the review was written in good spirit without bashing and contempt for the juice or the supplier. The review was a review... not an insensitive rave about how ripped off the OP felt...

I also love the Pineapple Shake by KBV. I love Pineapple though; sometimes I even eat Pineapple for dinner! I think it has a great taste; I'll have to try to mix it with some Buttercream. I don't have any buttercream on hand; I'll have to order some this week. That sounds delicious. :)

OP, I'm sorry your order was disappointing. I remember ordering 12 different juices from a very popular supplier when I first started vaping. I ordered the juices with double flavor and they were way too strong.

I'm sure there are many people who will buy them on the classifieds. Everyone has such different tastes. You know, I didn't like the KBV Rice Krispy Treats on my 510 and ego; when I got a Go-Go ecig from Nhaler, suddenly the Rice Krispy Treats was completely delicious on the big Go-Carto. I don't know why that would make a difference, but it did. :)

I love the Pineapple Shake!
I mix it 50/50 with the Buttercream Icing and it is a winner!

Haven't experienced burnt taste...I vape at 3.7v on a 1.5ohm LR306 = 9+watts and it tastes good.
My orders have been 70PG/30VG, so if you got the higher VG...it could account for the burning.

It could be that the juices the OP perceives as being burnt have a common ingredient.
I had this exact same issue with a very popular supplier here across 20 different juices and 3 different devices. It wasn't the PV that made it taste burnt, it was the enhancers they used to flavor their juice. Other vendor's flavors can strike me this way if they have too high of a percentage of that particular additive to their juice. I can now smell the juice and tell if it's going to taste burnt to me before I ever do a test drip onto an atty.

The OP may be right. To him/her KBV's juices taste burnt and it has nothing to do with equipment. He/she can just taste an ingredient in a way that many people can't.

The only way to know for sure is for someone to check the ingredients of one flavor vs another. If there is no common ingredient, then the next step might be to check the supplier info for the plastic bottles the juice came in. If that doesn't check out, then a recheck of equipment is likely a good idea.

Just a couple of ideas, but likely common ingredients across flavors would explain the issue.

I appreciate the OP's review. I think we can learn as much from negative reviews as we can from positive ones.

I usually vape my KBV juices at 5V with a 2.3ohm atomizer (10.9 watts) and all of them I have tried (except one) have held up to that wattage beautifully with no burnt taste. My "Caramel Popcorn" 10mg sample (which I believe is what they later started selling as "Fiddle Faddle" does taste a bit singed). All of mine (except the sample I just mentioned) are 18mg and some are 40/60 and some are 70/30.

I have never ordered one with double flavor though and the only two I have tried that are on your list also are Monkey Bread and Skipping Stones. I will be getting Candy Bar and Pineapple Shake this week.

The OP and I must share the same taste buds. I've tried several of their sweeter juices and tasted the "burnt" that he described. I sold all of them. I wish them well as a business but I can't vape their stuff. There was only 1 juice that I could and that was tootsy rolly but even then it wasn't an all day vape.

I've tried several of their juices too (ie, candy bar, tootsie rolly, warm sugar cookie and snickerdoodle) All at 18mg, 80/20 PG/VG (custom) ratio. Vaped them on 3.7V kr808 batts, using V4L Wow and Coolcart blanks. While I never experienced a burnt taste from any of them, the weakness of the flavor, zero TH and the fact that they all tasted like there was a cinnimon base left me VERY disappointed. I know alot of folks really love this vendors juices, just not me. Thank goodness we vapers have such a large variety of vendors to choose from:)

Hairball, glad that I'm not the only one that had that sensation, maybe some people will believe it wasn't my hardware and just my tastebuds. MsOceanCity, I completely agree with you that it seemed that every juice had some sort of cinnamon base, because that's what the burnt taste had a slight remnants of so if Newbz is right this could have been the cause for me.

Also, thanks LastTango and Granny for not bashing me or anything - same goes to most of the rest of ya :)

Yes, for Rice Crispity Treat and Sugar Cookie I used new atties and clean old ones. I have a REO Grand and vaped on both 6v and 3.7v to test these out. I'm sure it wasn't a case of flavor mingling.

I also have a REO Grand. I strictly use cartos, never liked attys. I smoke pineapple shake, candy bar and rice krispy in a plain old 510 carto. The flavors are great. I tried the same 3 juices in LR510 1.5ohm cartos on my Grand and they all tasted burnt. No flavor, just burnt metal. I have concluded that these juices are no good (for me at least) on LR cartos. I have read other threads that have also said this juice performs best in regular non LR cartos/attys.

I've used my kbv is a lr atty at 6v and a standard atty at 3.7. I think it tastes much better on the 3.7. Maybe it's the higher voltage. I've never had the burnt taste in any of my juice at 3.7 but the 6v only works for a couple of mine. I guess it's just a mystery to most of us that have had KBV. My only bad taste from them was flavors I didn't like. I think most people just don't understand. Your review was really honest and good. Did you try a standard atty at 3.7?

I never had a chance to try them on 3.7 with a standard atty, I actually don't own any haha.

3.7v @ 2.5ohm (standard 510) - 5.476 watts

3.2 (eGo) @ 1.5 ohm - 6.82667
3.7v @ 1.5ohm - 9.12667 watts
6v @ 3.5ohm - 10.28571 watts
6v @ 4.2ohm - 8.57143

So I guess I have to go 3 watts or more lower to not get a burnt taste, I just don't get satisfaction at 5-8watts so I don't think I could ever do it :(

I tried KBV on 4 different cartos of various "ohm-age" -- V4L CoolCartos, V4L Premium/Wow Cartos, CE2 Clearomizers (3.0 - 3.2) and IKV's mega 808s -- and at various voltages (3.2v - 4.5v) with each one. I was unable to get a good flavor from 2 of the 4 I ordered although they all had a very pronounced and yummy "nose" when opening the bottles (with the exception of Peach Melba, it smelled like stinky feet, and tasted like stinky feet smell, eww...and Auntie Ms Coffee tasted like burnt, "left-over from night shift" hospital coffee).

The juices I had (OMG, Caramel Capp, Auntie M's Coffee and Peach Melba) were all their standard flavoring at their standard ratio of 60/40. The juice was quite thick, thicker than others I've had at the same ratio, and I had wicking difficulties in all the cartos.

I re-tried them a month later and noted no appreciable improvement. The Peach Melba was still strong with Eau de Toe; the Auntie M's Coffee still tasted old and burnt; the OMG was just a tease of sweet nothingness and the Caramel Capp just wasn't there - no caramel, no cappucino (although I readily admit this particular juice smells absolutely divine and was the most disappointing because of just that).

I would like to commend KBV for very good service, for fast shipping, a surprise sample and a very pleasant and personalized thank-you note. Their "joose" is just not for me. Like Ms. Ocean said, "I know alot of folks really love this vendors juices, just not me. Thank goodness we vapers have such a large variety of vendors to choose from" -- +1 to that.

I'm sorry you didn't like the KBV "jooses."
I have yet to have a "bad batch" and I haven't ever needed double flavors with their juices.
I think I will check them out at six volts and see what happens. It is interesting though that hairball has also had this same experience. I have been buying this particular juice for five months and most, I use right out of the bottle without steeping but I think the juice gets a more developed flavor the longer I let it steep and I love that! I've bought all the juices that you tried with the exception of the "Pineapple Shake" most of them custom mixed at 80/20, 70/30, and 60/40 VG majority and also 70/30 PG majority.
I have used 3.6, 4.2 and 5 volts but I just don't get the burnt taste you describe, but perhaps it is some common denominator in the flavoring as was mentioned, that gives you that taste.
It is subjective as we all can agree. :)
Best wishes in your future juice selections.
C.B.

Personally, I noticed that KBV's flavor tends to be not as harsh at lower voltage ranges like from 3.7 on my 510 Bartleby to 4.3v on my BuzzVV. The Bart I use at work because it's tough and compact, while the Buzz is for home usage only.
After trying KBV Monkey Bread, Caramel Cookie, Cinnamon Danish Delight, OMG, and WTF, I've settled on the Cinnamon Danish Delight and Caramel Cookie as my primary regular vapes now, usually mixing them 50/50 in a COV MAP Tank. :)
The Monkey Bread is good as well, but I don't use that one quite as often as the other two - when I do, I usually mix it, the Cinnamon Danish Delight, and the Caramel Cookie in even thirds.
The OMG and WTF I wasn't all that happy with, and will probably be selling those along with my other "extra" juices as soon as my spare 901 Bartleby sells, since we can't have more than one for sale thread at a time in the classifieds (I call the other juices "extra" because I'll be sticking with KBV for the foreseeable future, it's just that good!).

I agree that it might be a common ingredient or the base that is causing the experience. I have tried 6 KBV flavors and enjoyed them all with no common flavor (i.e. cinnamon or burnt). I think it has a lot to do with how we interpret the flavorings.

For instance, BWB Rootbeer tastes like a mix of Hydrogen Peroxide and White Pepper to me. My wife swears it tastes just like Rootbeer, a dead ringer. We use the same device, hell we even used the exact same cartomizer and our experience of the juice was completely different. And yet, oddly enough, it smelled like Rootbeer to both of us.

So, I don't think this review (or any review) is representative of KBV so much as this person's experience of the flavorings used by KBV. Now, if we could just create some kind of flavor interpretive grid so we can group ourselves according to how we experience flavors that would be awesome. Then we could determine things like, "Based on your flavor experience profile, you will experience these flavorings as intended while these flavorings will taste like toe jam."
