Today marks two weeks that my wife and I have been off of the analogs. Quitting smoking has become a bit of a roller coaster ride for us, a revolving door if you will. Every year or two we have made attempts to quit, using a variety of methods- cold turkey, Chantix, patches and gum. Until recently, each attempt was met with stress, frustration, anguish, tension, and hallucination or two (thanks, Chantix!). During our last attempt, my wife was so on edge that she actually told her boss at work to ....... off. Needless to say, we knew we had to quit, but we had some definite reservations about making another attempt. Until recently, my knowledge of PV's was very limited. The word e-cigarettes conjured up images of shady booths at the mall, online popup ads, and other unpleasantness that mostly revolves of tricksters trying to separate me from my cash- magic beans anyone? A chance encounter with a coworker changed my opinion enough to at least devote an evening to research a bit and see what's out there. After a puff off of his 808, I was intrigued enough to delve a bit deeper than my preconceived notions.

By nature, I am the type who will research the crap out of something. I have been a tinkerer since I can remember, my old Commodore 64 gave me a shove in that direction. After work, I fired up the google machine, and was not surprised when a bunch of fake looking reviews came up, along with flashy sites for Blu cigarettes and the like. A forum is what I needed, and that's what I found in ECF. Armed with nothing but my wits, my asbestos internet suit, and a ton of skepticism, I dove headlong into what would surely be the most wretched hive of scum and villainy this side of the .xxx domain… ECF. My head was spinning a bit as I sifted through vast seas of information. I grabbed my laptop, headed down to the porch, and read as I chain smoked for the next couple of hours. By the time I was done, my wife was in bed, half asleep, and perhaps a bit perturbed that I pulled a disappearing act. "Easy, baby- no need to be upset. I found something great on the internets. Seriously, it's not even asian porn this time!" Unimpressed, she rolled over and fell asleep.

My research led me to buy 2 Volt starter kits, a bunch of flavored cartos, and a couple packs of blank cartos. My better half was guardedly impressed, and pleased that I thought of her when placing my order. I was able to sell the idea as a way we could smoke indoors, and that she should not be worried as it was not necessary to quit smoking when we started vapidg, but maybe we could smoke a bit less. The hook was set, the order was placed on a Wednesday. That Saturday, a neat package from Smokeless Image arrived on the doorstep. I was thrilled. I could not stop thinking of these newfangled ecigs, and secretly planned to attempt quitting as soon as possible. I didn't want to wait till Monday to begin my adventure. My girl seemed energized by the package as well, and we absconded to the bedroom and spread our booty onto the bed. My gadget loving head was about to pop off the top of my head. This was truly exciting. Neither of us realized yet, but at this moment, we were already ex- smokers. We opened our batteries, chargers, carts, and began enjoying them immediately. Since then, neither of us has reached for an analog.

So far- it has been a very easy, and organic transition for us both. There were minor cig cravings at first, and that weekend, we would still retire to the porch for a vaping session. Ve vaped indoors, and out. We vapid on the porch- as that was apparently habit as well. We vapid and vaped. It was, and remains fun, and new. It tastes good, and is fun to try new flavors, and share our new discoveries and favorites. We have not stressed, anguished, or hallucinated at all so far. PV's have completely eliminated our need for analogs, which is nothing short of amazing.

As I have said it has been two weeks. I've also said I am a tinkerer with a gadget lover's mind. We also make good money, so I am not bothered in the least to have spent in excess of $1000 on gear- her new Volcano mods, and my new Provari. Cartons of cartos, and dual cartos. Three Depth Charge tanks for my Provari, bunches of sample kits and a lot of juice from the Sales Forums. We made a trip to the Volcano storefront in Olympia which was a great time as well. Our Volts are now backups for us, and extras for friends to try, but we use them as well when the time seems appropriate.

Thank you to the ECF. I can't thank you enough for helping us quit those damn cigarettes once and for all. I feel embarrassed for assuming ya'll to be a bunch of villains. This is a gentleman's (and ladies) forum. This is a great community you have cultivated here. We are thrilled to be a part of it.

Thanks, and sorry for the book. Time to go refill my tank with some Bounty Hunter! :vapor:

Awesomesauce. :) Congrats on making the switch. Indeed there is much distrust of e-cigs out there, not helped by the demonization by the FDA and other governmental bodies, the poor gas station models, and over-priced mall offers. Only through getting more sane, honest and trusted people vaping can we spread the word far and wide, and get others making the switch because now they now know a friend they trust who is using one. Hopefully your colleagues will hear and see your success and follow suit. Be sure to post follow-ups on all the other awesome changes you'll experience - increased health, lung capacity, better skin, energy, etc. Its a wonderful ride. :D Oh, and congrats on the ProVari. :D
