14 puffs on an analog = 14 puffs on an e-cig?

Hi and and welcome to ecf. Not equal is the answer to your question. You get a direct hit from analogs and it is absorbed in your lungs. The nic for ecigs is in juice, therefore, you will probably only get 10-40% out of your inhale on an ecig, and the vapor is absorbed in your mouth and nose and throat.
Hope this helps.
ps that is why you will hear of members wondering if they are od'ing on nic because the can't put the ecig down.

So if I buy 12mg nic juice which claims to be the equivalent to a light analog does that mean approx 14 hits will be the same dose of nic as my previous analogs?

Nope and I don't recommend starting with 12mg juice. You don't absorb as much of the nic when you're vaping and you certainly don't absorb it as fast. Start with 24mg. Have some lower nic juice around in case that's too much though. There's no way to predict what nic level you are going to need.

I actually started on 8mg and now have a few 12mg (cause they didnt sell it at 8mg) I actually quit cold turkey for 3 weeks before caving in to an ecig....Id like to keep my nic take as minimal ... possible while still being satisfied...which at times I havent but still am not gonna smoke an analog

minimal ... eh?
yeah its true, you dont get nearly as much nicotine in ecigs as you do with cigarettes. One reason is because they put a bunch of chemical aimed at increasing absorbtion into the bloodstream as quickly as possible. ejuice doesnt have these chems, so naturally you wont get as much of a hit as you otherwise would. Also, the PG or VG I think prevents a bit of the nic from hitting the lungs as well. I think the efficiency of a cigarette is 10-20% and ecigs is 10-40% of THAT as claimed above. Cigarettes have 10mg of nic per stick, but you only absorb about 2mg, so I would start with higher. I vape 24mg and it still doesnt seem to be as satisfying as regular cigs. But you definately get used to it. I think it takes about 5ish days to fully adjust. For some reason, I just ordered some intellicig liquid and it seems to hit me harder than any other liquid does. Their 25mg liquid really kicks like a cigarette does. This is probably because they dont use a lot of flavoring or something.

Maybe...This is incidental, but I have been keeping track of the amount of nicotine vaped since I stopped smoking cigarettes. Turned out that I vape about 20% more nicotine (based on juice concentration) than the estimated intake from cigarettes. Since there is no way I can put a hard number on the amount of nic provided by the cigarettes (I was a hard hitter), I would say that it is equivalent.

I have read a lot of vapors say that the nicotine adsorption is lower with vaping, but I have not seen any publication on the subject. Anyone has found a study?

I think for lights try 18mg and buy a bit of 12mg in case 18mg is too much
And I recommend FreddomSmokeUSA Desert Ship and/or their Camtel, and try 70pg/30vg as the base

And no - ecig nicotine may not be absorbed as well per puff but according to one old study on atomized nicotine it may be absorbed faster (and I think it does seem to be absorbed faster). That many explain why many vapers vape more often than they smoked but for fewer drags. I usually take 3-5 drags then put it down.
