I want to pick up a new PV but I have a half a dozen of these 3.7v batteries laying around for my Protege and Hex Copper, so was thinking of just grabbing another device but I've been out of the "scene" for awhile and was wondering what's out there. I'm leaning toward a Puresmoker Icon due to the ooh shiny, just wondering if I'm overlooking anything else?

The Icon rocks. Love it, my new favorite.. but it won't take protected batteries without modification. The VYPR is nice, but the button doesn't seem to hold up too well. I've had to have mine replaced a few times in the past year. The Provape has held up rather well as one of my backups. Not the prettiest and its a little large, but it gets the job done.

The world needs a Precise 14500.

My friend is interested in the Icon also, but wants to use protected batteries.. how exactly is the modification done?

My guess would be to replace the plastic piece in the end cap that lifts the contact screw with a few stacked washers to make extra room for the protected batteries. Personally I love these batteries. Your atomizer will quit producing before the battery reaches critical levels, and most chargers have overcharging protection built into them. Just don't stack 'em. That's where the problems will come in.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the feedback. :3 I already have a copper, hex model. It's been my favorite mod for the last... six months or so? It's just kinda burly considering the size of the battery. Great for HV. :3 Just want something smaller for when I'm out and about.

Probably going to go with the icon when I have the extra cash, also planning to pickup a GLV-2 and make this "I have 10 different types of batteries" problem worse... :3
