About a month ago i receive my Pure Smoker Passthrough V2. Loving life, great product. Great for about 3-4 weeks, then the button gets mushy, meaning you have to press harder for it to connect and so on. Last week the button dies. Ok, so i tell my wife about it and figure i will send it back for repair, still under warranty. Very good so far..
Well just getting around to doing that when i notice the button looked weird on top. So i pull off the adapter and wham.. melted housing, button laying in there not connected... Total mess..
So i investigate.. Well my wife didn't do it...(basically she could care less), my dogs don't really know how to take apart a passthrough, so that leaves my son. Of course he knew he was busted and i wanted to punish him BAD.. but then he says, you haven't had a cig in months and i was afraid that you would because that was broke, so me and my buddies tried to fix it.
What do you do to someone that cares? I just hope i the folks at PS understand that a kid was trying to do good and work with me..It looks like a total rebuild.. oh boy..
Just thought I would share a story of how not smoking is affecting my household. In a good way..
Thanks

Wow! Just wow! That says something about you as parent! Sounds like you and your wife have definitely done right by him! Congrats on raising a very decent human being, maybe you can share some parenting tips with some of the parents I know that have raised complete little idiots who care nothing for the rest of humanity. Seriously, good parenting man!

Thanks for the great comments, i just hope the folks at Pure Smoker are as nice and understanding. ha ha.
No seriously though, my first thought was ok what do i kill him with. Then it hit me that because i stopped smoking and this was a major tool that kept me from smoking. My son showed nothing but love and care by at least trying to fix it.
So instead of dead, I will reward him with something he might want, within reason of course. And let him know that he has done good. Not the best electrician I have run across, but i know he was motivated by love for me.

Sounds like a great kid. I would just like to add.

Let him know you are proud of him for trying, but in the future, if he fails, he should tell you right away so you can have it taken care of, with no hard feelings.

I had conversations with my boys years ago, and they knew if the right intentions were there, and they spoke up, everything was good.

Yeah, I was a teenager too once, and came up with lines like that to get out of trouble every now and then.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but it sounds to me like the boy was vaping on your v2.
