Yeah I was at the same point in my search and I'm glad I took the risk also. Order placed Friday afternoon our time- past business hours in Greece. Order shipped first thing Monday morning and it was in my hands by noon on Wednesday. You will love it I'm sure!

That's pretty fast shipping. :)

I thought it was longer than that to get things from Europe. Good deal, maybe I'll have mine by the middle of next week. I'm not patient waiting for new vape stuff.

The Siam mod's mini uses 14500 batteries and the top cap is about 1mm bigger than my 16mm Arashi Mini genny. Available here...

Your link was obfuscated by ECF but I know of the cube and hex mods. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of either design. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

It really surprises me the market for 14500 mods appears to be so small compared to say 18350 mods with nearly the same mAh (600 vs. 700 in AW IMR).

I have the 14500 Cube and the 18350 Cube, very well made, great feel in hand, easy to completely disassemble for cleaning, brass contacts, can flush mount on them...can't ask for much more. And if you don't like shiny there is the Sand Art models.

Of course being a fan of the Cube movie trilogy this mod was a no brainer...lol...

That looks awesome. Where did you get that DiD clone? I want the same one. Now if you just had a brass drip tip it would make the perfect pocket PV. :)

It's called a Vulcan and I got it from surevapes- good price and good unit, but I'm going to start trying out some different wicks besides the mesh. I've made 4 different SS wicks of varying size, tightness, oxidization, 10 different coils and I still can't make it past a puff or two without getting an awful metallic taste. It's like welding fumes.
Otherwise, it performs nicely when it works and is a perfect match in diameter to the Temon.
A brass drip tip would definitely make the look complete, but I have a weird thing about the way brass tastes and I tossed my only brass tip long ago. Meh. Still looks nicer than any other piece of equipment I own!

Wow...is it really all stainless for $16?

Just FYI, the thicker silica (3mm) works well in Genesis-style attys as long as you tilt to supply the wick and don't choke it in the wick hole. It's not ideal, but if you can't set up stainless mesh it does the trick. I'm at the point where I can set up a mesh wick in ~5-10 minutes, but it took quite a while to get there.

I didn't think about the taste of brass, but I imagine I'd feel the same -- brass doesn't taste good. It sure would look nice though. I'm not really one who cares that much that my vaping stuff looks "fancy" or whatever, though.

They're showing my Temon is in Philadelphia and will be here Monday, but I won't be home and it shipped 'signature required'. I'm trying to get them to keep it at the distribution center that's right by my shop so I can just pick it up. I can't believe how fast it got here from Greece. I've waited 4-5 days for items that were one state away.

Got my Temon today. Ridiculously fast shipping from Europe. Honestly, I can't tell what exactly is "blemished" about it. There's the standard engraving: the MM logo, the name 'Temon' and serial number (#52). I guess they weren't crazy about the engraving, as a little bit of it is slightly 'blurry'. That's the only thing I can tell that might have made them toss it in the 'blemished' pile.

I wasn't crazy about the firm switch action so I swapped the internal spring with one from my local hardware I picked up over the weekend in anticipation of getting this mod. One of the three or four I bought fit perfectly once I cut it down. The switch is now super-easy to push, which is what I wanted.

It came with two extra springs (top connection and switch) and an extra C-clip for the switch. That's a nice addition to a 'blemished' unit.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this thing. I've been vaping it non-stop since I got it, and the battery is still going strong.

Thanks to all for the advice and hand-holding. :)

Pulled the trigger on a Gus G16 this weekend. For now I'm probably gonna pair it up with a Vulcan. Surevapes is out of stock, but fasttech to the rescue! $9.56 DID V2 Mini Rebuildable Atomizer for DIY (1.8mL) - 2.4

Gonna grab some 14500's from there as well, how many batteries would i need to get me through a day? I usually go through about 2-3 18350s in a work day (or maybe one well charged 18650) on my Sigelei Zmax Tele.

What is the best coil resistance to squeeze the most life out of these batteries? I usually vape at around 10 watts...

Probably in the 1.4 - 1.5 ohm range, for the wattage you prefer.

I'm not sure which batteries you're considering, but here's something I made for a friend - it's an interpretation of the popular "safe vaping power chart", but specific to the AW IMR 14500 600 mAh battery in mechanical mod use. Sorry for the quality of the pic - you may have to zoom in, but it should be semi-legible; I'm subject to forum restrictions on size and can't upload anywhere else right this minute.
AW_IMR_14500-600mah-mech_vaping_power_chart.jpg

Caveat: The yellow "charge your battery" section is pegged where it is because that's where the cliff on the discharge curve lies in tests, which is ~3.45 V. I personally don't like to vape below 3.6 - 3.7 ohms on a mech. mod due to the weak vapor production. Draw your own mental boundaries on that graph (in the safe section) wherever they work for you.

WARNING: This graph is only relevant for the AW IMR 14500 600 mAh battery. "AW" is a brand, "IMR" is a type of battery, "14500" is a size, and "600 mAH" is a capacity. If you change any single one of these things this graph is no longer relevant because you are referring to a different battery, so YMMV.
