Here is a better photo of the battery, hopefully all can see. Just curious if it's bad or not.

looks like it's just dents in the plastic; should be okish, but you can't keep scraping it all the time or else it plastic wrapper will tear.

If it is going into a plastic compartment in a box mod then it's ok;
the problem is if the wrapper tears off and the metal under it becomes exposed, and you put that in a metal tube mod, then the metal of the battery can shortcircuit on the metal of the tube mod.
similar problem if it is a metal box mod.

I'v got a couple batteries that look like that, no tears though. Soon as it shows a tear or shows the metal that its protecting im either throwing it away or re-wrapping it. I have kinda worried about that as well..

It isn't a matter of caring how someone else vapes, it's a matter of trying to understand WHY they choose that method of vaping.

For me personally, the mod I built is in series and most of the builds I have are from .80 - .85. That draws about 90 watts (10 or so amps) The reason I run my box like that is because I enjoy making coils. Lower gauge wire typically requires more power, combine that with clapton wire builds etc, makes a thick wire = more power to have a realistic ramp up time. Surface/crevice area also play into it. The more surface/crevice area, the more juice you vape at once, as well as higher wattage producing different flavor. Something else that higher wattage can do is allow some people to reduce the nic content in the juice they use while still getting a satisfying vape. Those are my reasons, hopefully this helps a bit.

My vote on batteries would be VTC4's as well :)

Hi. Thanks for excellent information. I've been using these batteries (see pictures) at 70w with my Sigelei 150W TC.
Well, after reading this thread, I wonder if it would be appropriate or dangerous to continue using them. I am evaluating several options, among which are the AW protected 3.7V 3100mAh. I'd like to know your opinions. Thank you.

The protected AW is not high drain and should not be used in a regulated power device.
The Imren are another re wrapped & erroneously labeled cell, they are not 40a batteries.

Only use un protected high drain IMR/hybrid chemistry batteries with a sufficient CDR to support the amp demands / power levels you intend to vape.

The batteries & chargers sub forum is filled with info ---> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forums/batteries-and-chargers.828/

    As @Topwater Elvis mentioned, that AW won't work well for vaping.

    That Imren is most likely a 15A-20A battery. It's probably ok in your Sig 150 as long as you're not chain vaping at over 120W or so. But I cannot say for sure. I recommend one of the Samsung, Sony, or LG batteries that matches the power levels you vape at. Check out the Safety Grades link in my signature. It can help when choosing a battery.

    Every day I learn something. I definitely have to continue reading and so I will not take the first thing that offer at some stores without me having knowledge of what I want...

    Thanks to both, TopWater Elvis and Mooch!

    @Baditude has a great blog with lots of good info, definitely worth a read!
