Hello. I have a smok devilkin 225 w. I use a .15 ohm coil and vape between 90 and 120 watts. could you please tell me what the best 18650 would be for me? thank you

according to my understanding of @Baditude ’s version of @Mooch ’s chart (making 3 removes of understanding in continuingly reducing levels of expertise) you could just barely get away with 20 amp cells but would do better with 25 amp or perhaps even 30 amp cells for extra slop space.

Do you mean Samsung 30Q? Those are only 15A batteries good for up to 45 watts each. OP states he vapes between 90 and 120 watts. Those won't cut it for him.

Samsung 30Q’s are rated at 15A continuous by Samsung.
The datasheet mentions operation at 20A though.

You’re at up to 60W per battery in that two-battery device. At above about 55W per battery the Sony VTC5A actually starts to run for longer than the 30Q, VTC6, or HG2.

This is because the VTC5A is more efficient and holds its voltage up better for longer at this high power levels.

Try the VTC5A, especially if you are chain vaping. You can go up to 150W before hitting their 25A rating in a two-battery device.

Actually, NVM....try the Sanyo NCR18650GA. It beat the 35E by a lot in some testing I recently did for my patrons at those “higher” power levels.

Original wraps are long gone :/. They’re quite old. Last measurement was in the -2800ma range so they’re likely about ready for the bin anyway assuming they were actually 3500ma to begin with. You’re welcome to em though. They’re in one of my vapes atm and it’s better to send em low on power so I’ll vape em down and pull em out, box em up, and mail em to you. Is there a listed address on your blog? Or you could pm me one. Honestly I think it’s just a case of really old out of production batteries. I’ve always bought batteries by following advice on your blog. Possible I bought some bad ones though. They might even be 8 amp. Not sure. I’ve very carefully only used them married for MTL stuff.
