My carts were dry at work (I had forgotten to refill or bring my stuff with me) and I was nic'ing pretty badly, so I bummed a Newport off of a friend. I had never loved Newports, but I had always been able to smoke them without issue: I got about five puffs in and tossed the cigarette. It was unsmokable. Bitter, acrid, and every other negative taste you can imagine. I can't and won't go back.

Out of curiosity, how long was it since you switched to the vaping from the analogs that this happened? I'm a newb who hasn't started vaping yet and just sort of wondering how long does it take to adjust to the "new reality"....
A little before June 1st, so about two months now. Just as a note, I never preferred harsher cigarettes, my preferred brands were Camel Crush or Camel Methols, but I could always smoke Kools, Newports, whatever without an issue when I needed a smoke or there was a good sale. I was also a social smoker (bad reason, but hey, it's in the past) so I never enjoyed any type of reds.

Last time I tried analog I had the same reaction, I thing that this change in my preferences is bad.
Why is it a bad thing?

Great description! I bet a lot of people that have switched to vaping cold turkey, like me, imagine how an old stinkie would taste. I can't stand the smell of them now and am pretty sure I would have the same experience as you described.

I had the same (or worse since I only managed two puffs before tossing the cigarette) reaction as the OP after two weeks of vaping. It doesn't take long at all. I also noticed that I couldn't stand the smell of cigarette smoke pretty soon after I started vaping. Your senses of taste and smell start improving within days I think.

I had the same experience as the others here. After about a week, I figured I would try one because it had been a very long and stressful day. I bummed a Camel Crush off a friend and we went to the smoking area to light up. One drag and I snuffed it out. Gave him a dollar for throwing out the smoke he bummed to me. He told me no worries and congrats for not even wanting it. We sat and talked about PVs and juice for about an hour. I had 3 tanks with me and let him try all three. He now owns 2 of my Ego batteries, and the last 3 atomizers I had with me. This weekend we get to make a road trip so he can pick up some of his own juice and accessories. I'm just happy that one more person is coming off the analogs!!

congrats, my last opened pack was American spirits, gave them to a friend who still smokes. I agree with what everyone says, I still go out to the smoke hut and the smell is terrible, but I don't want to create waves at school. I actually have gone back to cartos instead of clearos ( they don't last long enough for me, buy to 5 packs worth good for a month).
