Popped over to the DV thread, the supplier there says the atomizers I was asking about have the bottom feed hole, and his prices are super low, couple of those should hold me over for a week or two till I can throw down for a RM2. I haven't been particularly successful with my attempts at rebuildables so far, hopefully I can get past that. If not, I'd still be okay with throwing down for a decent LR atomizer every so often, still WAY cheaper than smokes!

Congrats and welcome, CJack. Please keep us updated with pictures and your experience.

Will do! Shipped this morning. Tracker says Monday, but stuff usually only takes a couple days to get to me from the West Coast, so I'm holding out hope for Saturday. Oh, and Happy Vape Day everyone! :vapor:

Congrats. As mentioned most of us were perfectly happy using attys and cartos until we got our first RBAs especially the non fiddly ones and especially the RM2. Depending on your juices a carto will last you from days to even a week or more, depending on juice, and as long as you don't burn the stuffing. Once you burn the stuffing they are goners as far as taste. (First cartos I got, way, way back, 2010, I had been boiling and dryburning all attys, when they came in, because so many had a terrible tasting primer in them. I burnt the stuffing on all in that first box because I dry burned them before using. Vendor set me straight when I asked for refund.) As long as you keep it reasonably moist you should be fine. The quality on some of the cartos can be questionable as far as the carto causing shorts and collapsed spring so we highly recommend a cheap digital multimeter to test the carto for shorts prior to putting it on REO. If you have one of many VV tube mods with digital readout you can use that. Less shorting with attys but they can happen. In addition, you are going to need something to test your rebuildables anyway. Depending on what ohm/resistance you are used to be aware that a 2.0 ohm carto may be too cool for you. It was for DH and me. We were able to get the bulk cartos around a little lower but they ranged from 1.7-2.0. I had to order cartos as singles to get 1.5 ohm. 1.7 ohm is nice if you know you don't like cooler vape.

The link instructions are great. I'm doing it tonight on a mini octopus tonight. Fasttech has several Mini RDAs, singles and in five and ten packs. They do list OD. I know the one I got US vendor cap fits ERA. Will measure mine and going to order a 10 pack of appropriate size. I mostly want the caps for use on ERAs but as the mod to BF is so easy might as well order a pack and have every color. At very least they'll make good gifts. Found 25 mini RDA at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Thanks for the advice! All set for testing, can test on my SID and I have a multimeter for anything too low to fire on that. Have a few 1.5 ohm atties coming now, should be here the same day as my REO, hopefully. If not I'll be hitting one of the local B&M's. I use cartos now, unfortunately I get them pre-punched for tanks, so they aren't going to work for this. Although, I suppose I could throw some electrical tape or something around them to seal up the holes...hmmm. Have to think about that. Anyway, figured I might as well try something different and give an atty a shot for a bit till I get myself an RBA.

Piece of tape will work fine. Long ago I used reposistional wall stickers on my cartos and attys, to make them look better on the wood reos, like the kind you get for children's rooms. They went through many boilings without coming off. And my cartos never got as hot as some of my attys.

Okay. Ya know you've got it bad when you get up at 4:30 in the AM to check the USPS tracker because you can't sleep thinking about how your new mod MIGHT come a couples days earlier than predicted. And the fact that it looks like it might actually be here today is exciting enough that the chances of getting back to sleep now are dwindling. I'm working two shows tonight, so won't be home to try it out till after midnight, but still, SO stoked to try this thing! :w00t:

Well here it is folks, my first REO! Much smaller than I expected, but for a little guy he sure puts out a lot of vapor! And taste, I mean, I've got a cheapie lil atomizer on here I picked up for practically nothing and this juice (Ecto Cooler from MBV) has never been so tasty! Can't wait to try my Moon Mountain juices in here! I was trying not to expect too much, but really, I gotta say I'm impressed so far!

Congrats! The og mini is a great gateway to the other reos and even then you will have use for it.

Check out the mirror finish some get out of those if you like shiney.

Thanks to my phone, I could have posted this from anywhere.

I do like shiny, but hate fingerprints. I'd spend more time polishing it then vaping it!

Glad you like it. Maybe I'll be able to buy it back from you some day.

Cheers and enjoy!
