I have to admit, I really like the Erl. Its just sexy and the machining internally is beautiful. However, reading the thread on it, it looks like the build is a bit difficult to get just right. Maybe that's just my perspective since I've never built anything.

I am looking pretty heavily at the Flash E Vapor, and lesser so at the Taifun GT, and a bit at the Lemo.
I don't wick down the vertical channels. Just trim flush with deck. Easy build. No flooding, no dry hits. If you do pick one up you can get plenty of help in the Erl thread.

I agree 100% about the Taifun.

I have 2 of the "A" style from FT & 2 of the "B" style. Can't tell them apart. I've been using these for at least 4 months & not a bit of problems.

Wicking is super easy too. I started out with the ReadyXWick (3mm), lasted at least a month with light dry burns between fill-ups, but recently trying both the kohgendo & also the rayon wick. All these wicking materials are excellent. No taste whatsoever. I'm not one of the sub-ohm vaporers. I like my coils at around 1.5 ohm. I am a chain vapor & never get any dry hits from either of these 3 wicks.

For a new person to RBA's I would recommend the Lemo. I have AGA T7s, Foggers, Kayfuns, Orchids and Taifuns. I do have an Erlkonigin, Expromiser and an Squape R on order. But of the ones on hand the Lemo wins hands down. Best air flow and flavor of my single coil builds. Great RBA to learn on.
Can you service the coils and wick on a Lemo without draining the tank?

So these clones are as good as the authentic? I have to admit, the idea of dropping ~$20-30 to try this out is a lot easier to swallow than $162 for the authentic. I don't mind spending the cash if I felt more confident of what I was doing, that I could build it, enjoy the vape, use it all day, etc, but I'd hate to spend that much and wind up with it in a drawer like my Penelope.

Although Sedge has made the FlashE become a research topic of mine for consideration when this vape budget builds back up from it's current slim pickins status...

I love my two Erlkonigin's, really really great tank I couldn't be more pleased with. Pricey for sure but the quality is there. They are having a 10% off sale and the budget friendly erlPrintz was just released. Very affordable. Folks seem to love their Lemo's, hard not to get one just for the entertainment factor at that price. I have nothing bad to say about the other recommendations, simply that the ErlK will not disappoint if you do go that route. I built my first coil on an ErlK, up and running great the first night (2nd coil lol). Not a difficult build.

ErlK in nano mode on an 18350...tight. very tight.

Although not designed to do so, so a little finicky, I am able to get to my ErlK build without draining. I do it all the time and it's easy. SquapeR allows that by design.

An Erl might be my next one.

Just all around ease, the TGT wins. Easiest to build and fill. Always have access to your build.

I put kayfun/Lemo and similar at second.

My Rosev2 was the most difficult with what I've tried so far, but its my favorite for flavor. However, all the others are just a hair behind on flavor and much easier to live with for a first rta.

So my vote is TGT for the first one. And once he feels confident with it, he can always get some of the others.

Yep, tgt is big and 23mm. So is the Lemo. I personally don't worry unless I want a perfect match to a mech. I admit to mostly using box mods though. Tgt is perfect on a hana.

I didn't mean the width. I have a PapsX so 23 mm options are really attractive to me, it's like 10mm taller and holds a ml less juice. Throw the 23mm diameter elfQueen tank on her and the TGT holds 3ml less juice.

Ok... I flip-flopped on all of this long enough, and I decided it was just time to make a decision. I went with a Taifun GT clone. I'm going to keep researching the Flask E recommended by Sedge. Almost bought one but they are out of stock, and further the unusual design just makes me hesitant. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but if I have trouble with my Taifun, there are TONS of people on here that can offer assistance. Not quite so with the Flash E, unless I can quickly learn to speak German.

I bought an HCigar Taifun GT clone, a backup replacement plexi tank (just in case), a selection of gauges of Kanthal, some silica wick, an Ohm Meter base (seemed like a good idea), and..... A plumeviel 1.5 clone just for fun (yay!). I figured I should try out an RDA just as an option. I'm going to Sally's to pick up some rayon before it all gets here.

I'll admit, I feel kinda dirty buying clones, and I hope that statement doesn't offend anyone nor the fact that I bought clones offend anyone. Right now, I figure I'll try these out. If I like them, then I'll buy genuine. The high cost, along with not knowing if I am wasting money on this endeavor, combined with not being able to find genuine versions in stock, just made the clones very attractive. Right now I am spending a ridiculous amount each month between my nautilus heads and my premium Halo 10ml/day habit. It's over $200/mo! With my switch to ITCVapes for liquid and building my own coils, I figure I can use the savings to buy genuine in no time.

Damn I really want an ErlK and and Lemo! lol. If my TFGT experience goes well, and my savings go as expected, I think I'll be purchasing both in the coming months. :)

I have clones and authentic stuff, as far as attys go I don't sweat clones bc they can be pretty much the same resulting vape and you can get pretty much any atty for ten bucks, that's a win to me.

When it comes to mods I run authentic mods bc real life issues like vdrop for example cb one in to play.
