Hi, I build a bit different. I cut the cotton just so it's even with the juice channels. The cotton does NOT interfere with the juice channels .View attachment 364365 This had worked out well for me with no dry hits, burnt hits, or issues. If you can see it's not sitting in the channels but above the channels and close to the channels. It does not interfere with the chimney either. This build always worked well for me

Is that called 'the igloo' build?

When I first got my kayfun I tried many different builds. This is one I believe I got from rip tripper. Im not exactly sure what he called it but for me, this build has worked better than any others. Their is adaquate space between the coil and air flow, and I never get a burnt hit. Also make sure the cotton won't interfere with the chimney threads. Hope this helps :)

Cheers @doubleEwe I did that to empty it yesterday.

Update: the burnt taste seem to have gone away (this time) im thinking it could've been similar to a new kanger coil I use to get burnt taste first few drags. Just a thought? But seems to be tasting better..I will take a pic of build soon as i can. Think I could get a top shot now. ....but not completely apart without emptying it. Love to get this figuted out and get a nice build on the stillare dripper that pretty much gave up on. . Thanks ECF if wasn't for you guys and google bam lol

Judging by that pic, I noticed several things...

One, The coil ends are towards the screw posts, they need to be going left and right of the screw posts.
Second, the cotton needs to go through the coil. There are some builds that go on the outside, but the typical build goes through the coil.
Third, there are all sorts of single hair-like cotton strands. Those strays don't hold juice and will burn.

A good rebuild tutorial is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0BDT95NLI4

Anyways, hope that helps.

Happy to report after retuck of the cotton no burnt hits, very flavorful! Back to
Thanks ECF
when time for some new cotton Im going to try like above with a little more . I was being very ez with the cotton making sure it moved through the coil a bit. Think makimg it more snug might improve the taste ...
And that's why ECF is my all time favorite forum. The family atmosphere, knowledge, and willingness to help is second to none!

Only reason I still think there might be a problem is @1 ohm I thought it would be producing alot more vapor. Personally thats how low I built it due to wire gauge and lack of knowledge ..
I see other 1ohm build videis people producing much more vapor then say a nautilus. Id say mime is about thr same (so far kayfun taste better).
What u guys think. I could take better pictute of the coil . ...wonder if I didnt place it high enough ovet the hole. Hmm

I used to use organic cotton balls when I first started DIY RBAs. I have since found a new wicking material that wicks like nobody's business! Rayon! Now, don't think of that word like you think of rayon clothing because the 2 are not similar. I use 100% Cellulose. !00% man-made cotton.

When I used to use cotton and saw other's images, I always used too much. Not any more. With the CCr (Celulose Cotton/rayon), I stuff it in there and wicking is awesome! It's almost as if I can't screw it up. It always works no matter how I wick it.

Flavor is awesome and the vapor production is just so much better than with cotton. Of course, that's all subjective. But for me anyway, that's that way it is. Great improvement over cotton for wicking.

Check out the ending pages of this thread: Rayon wick, better flow, flavor, saturation and Nic Hit!. Better yet, take the time to read the important parts of the entire thread (those would be the posts by JeremeyR :thumb:)

Let me know if you want to know more.

Quite honestly, that looks great to me.

Why do I say that? Well, if you've burned through at least one tank total, it's still wet and I don't see any burn marks on the sides of the coil. Looking good.

Welcome cmangoboogie. You have arrived to the world of RTAs. !

Don't worry about clouds right now. You are still very new to the rebuilding stage.

It's a journey. Always remember that.

Personally, I have found my vaping Nirvana. However, I have been at this for around 6 months and I am kind of geeky, in that, I do tons (tonnes for our British English speaking friends :)) of research before attempting anything new.

What percentages of PG and VG are in your juice?

Thanks everyone for the help and compliments. I feel good lol

I believe as far as juice its 75/25 blend @24mg . I asked last time I was at the store what difference between the two was (thought one was thicker and also more organic possibility of being better) they just told me 75/25 blend. I figured they didnt want to give up there secrets maybe idk. But I see people make there own so maybe that will be my nxt thing to try. Get away from the store all together .
Thanks again.
Cheers to another day cig free, and a fresh build! Tastey mango morning!

PG tends to carry flavor better and provide higher TH. VG tends to produce more vapor. PG is thinner. B&M flavors mix ratio is usually not selectable by the consumer. Many online vendors will let you specify the blend. And, of course, if you DIY, you can specify :)
I think its A 75 vg 25pg then cause when . asked what my local b&m used and there reply both and so Asked if get a bottle each way 100% in my flavor. .to see if I could tell a difference. That's when they told me that they use 76/25 Mix of both.

I've had to go to a different b&m a few times and there juice is always horrible and super thin. Is safe to assume the other b&m uses just the vg ..?
I need to familiarise myself with the difference cause Id really like to ordr some supply's eventually make my own
