I don't want to be rude, but Zeller's face look stupid. That is the face of a failure,
and I want to bish slaps the tobacco taste out his mouth >_>

It kinda looked to me like Zeller was Disgusted by the Entire Process.

That he would have like to have been able to Speak More about Relevant and Scientific Issues. Than to have to Explain 3 Times to Harking what the Courts have Ruled the FDA Authority to Be. And Not to be.

For the things I have read about Zeller, I think he would like to see e-Cigarettes Evaluated in a More Unbiased Arena. Instead of being a Banner for the "We have to Save the Children". And not in a Divisive Time when the Balance of the Senate is in Question.

I also Don't think he Like being "On Trial" so to speak with Harkin as the Judge, Jury and Executioner. And Harkin being an Uninformed Rube Didn't make it any better.

BTW - Does the FDA answer to Congress?

Tom Harkin kept mentioning about e-cigs being exposed and are targeted to kids numerous times..assuming it is harmful devices to childrens.. Sounds like he's already made up his mind in regulating e-cigs.. Hopefully to an extent and not all what FDA/CDC proposed.

E-cigs aren't for kids. Period.

This debate is more about producing false claims; a propaganda if you will. Just don't approved FDA application and the E-CIGS world will prevail.
I love how he read the box of that one e-cig or hookah, read all the warnings on it and how it was against the law to sell them to anyone under the age of being able to buy tobacco products..
Then in the next breath, these are clearly targeting kids..

Talk about a head desk moment..

Rather than edit, I just want to add this point. Regardless of YOUR party affiliation, think about this. If Harkin and Burr were both from your state and running against each other today, who would you cast your vote for, knowing where they stand on this issue? Would you cross party lines when casting your vote? Or would the letter behind their name be more important to you?

That's what I mean about really knowing who you are electing to represent YOU.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk.

I cross party lines all the time. I think
I'm registered as a d, but I vote for who I want, not who my party members are. I vote for the person who wants what I want and who I think can give that to me.

Just curious.. have you directly received anything you have wanted from the people you are voting for?

This hearing is just one example of how our government is operated. Are some(many) of these people in Washington DC this stupid or do they just think it is ok to lie to get their point(s) across?
Why do US citizens keep electing these people?

People watch TV. They believe The Daily Show is reporting. People listened to Paris Hilton to "vote or die".. too bad she didn't live up to her words. People have no interest in thinking for themselves and want others to do it.

Vaping, Smoking, Alcohol, Global Warming, The stuff we can't talk about, driving, what you can watch on TV, what games you can play, What bathrooms you can use. There are a bunch of blooming idiots in Washington.

I will use the primaries for example. I am in Boehner's region. (Ohio) He had two guys running against him. Winteregg and Gurr. I really liked Gurr but found out most were going for Winteregg, so bit my tongue and X it. Boehner got 68% of the votes. He has done absolutely nothing. So then I went to website... in my voter district 25% of the registered voters turned out to vote. Basically what does that mean and the answer? 75% of the people did not care one way or the other. It isn't that these yahoos are being voted in... no one cares enough to change it.

They are an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services who secretary recently resigned.. Kathleen Sebelius. Silvia Burwell is the Presidents pick to replace her. Quite frankly, they are more concerned about the Obamacare debacle than anything the FDA is doing.

Yeah... It would seem that People should be More Concern with what Margaret Hamburg and Sylvia Burwell think about e-Cigarettes.

Than what Harkin Thinks he Thinks about e-Cigarettes.

I think Harkin stopped thinking a long time ago....

Ya know when you get Older, and the DMV makes you come in to do a Physical Driving Test to make sure you are All there?

Maybe we need to Think About doing something like that for Mental Awareness before Someone can head a Committee?

Because Harkin seemed Lost in Space.

LOL

Maybe he should try unflavoured nic - a nice peppery one and then let's talk about flavors!

Hmmmmm he likes premium cigars and Zeller put him on notice about the flavors used in them ..... Another case of "I didn't mean it should effect meeeee" whine coming.

....and my brain governor stopped me from making a Monica Lewinsky comment

Correct. FDA reports to HHS, which reports to the President. However, Congress can exert control over an executive branch agency in terms of passing enabling legislation (as in, the FSPTCA amended FDA's enabling act to give them control over tobacco products and creating the FDA Center for Tobacco Products).*

Also, check some of Bill Godshall's threads and comments, where I believe he says Congress can, by some mechanism, disapprove a rule or regulation if it sees fit. But I'm not sure exactly how this works.

*Of course, the President could exert final control using his veto power. Tho Congress could then override the veto. Oy :going for more coffee:

Oh it was all too obvious how he felt about his premium cigars..

I really loved when he said this..
Kids wouldn't pay 10 dollars for a cigar,as if it was out of their price range or something..

Yet he thinks they will spend 15 to 30 to 60 dollars for a starter kit and then 5 to 10 to 20 dollars on top of that for one juice because of the flavors..

Does this guys brain ever stop farting?
