2.5ml tank - notches at battery end (am i supposed to hold them when inhaling?)

so, i received my new tank today, and there are these little notches at the battery end. i can't seem to get a decent pull except when i hold those two notches rather tightly. is this normal, or is the seal between the battery and the tank supposed to be better?

those notches are for air to move through the carto or air tube if its not a carto tank. holding will make the pull very tight and you will burn your coil out. dont recommend it. just might a airy draw as long as u get the vapor and th then i wouldnt worry about.

sorry - i should have mentioned, it IS a carto tank. it took about a day, but i think i finally figured out how to use it properly. thanks!
