A strong message from the second link: "Many have also started researching the money trail between special interest groups and those who would benefit from an FDA ban on e-cigarettes, particularly ASH, the Action on Smoking and Health. The group receives grants from Pfizer, the maker of the anti-smoking drug Chantix that has caused a disconcerting number of people who used it to commit suicide since it was released onto the market."

AHHH! Seriously! ONE cartridge found DEG. Let's get the facts straight! First link: "The minuscule presence of diethylene glycol, an ingredient that is found in antifreeze WAS FOUND IN ONE CARTRIDGE and certain levels of nitrosamines, were found in some cartridges." (Underline is my addition ;) )

do these articles HAVE to come from suppliers? theres always a link to the company that put the article out. really irks me.

dugg anyway.

Scaralouche - They are press releases. Anyone can issue press releases... If consumers wanted to issue press releases, I think that would be great :) In most places, it does cost a fee to do so, but if someone wanted to go this route with their activism, it would be a great option!

Excellent!

One minuscule "presence" of DEG???????? hmmmm That one still puzzles me. How in the heck did just one of those things have DEG, and not all of them??

I'm thinking of this machine that makes the cartridges,,, there is probably a conveyor line of cartridges passing under a spot that inserts the wicking material, and then it passes under a needle that shoots a few drops of liquid into the assembly, and into a packaging machine and put into a box and packed into an ecig kit....all of that liquid would come out of the same container,,,and one of them has DEG. So why is that??

And it's just a trace mind you,,, somehow in the process,,, someone put a couple drops of DEG a big vat of juice,,,

my imagination runs wild,,, some bean counter in accounting says to the production crew,,, we need to cut production costs,,, let's cut the juice with anti freeze,,, :w00t:

Only problem with that theory is why then would only 1 cart have DEG,,, but none of the others???

Whew,,, I'm gonna vape on that to figure out why this is,,,,:|

Why is that ONE drop so very suspicious? I know the FDA tested it, but who were the scientists who did the testing? I read somewhere who they were, and if it is true, it becomes even more suspicious.

I believe they tested carts from more than 1 supplier, and 1 supplier's cart contained a trace amount of DEG.

Correct me if I'm wrong....

No... you are correct. I think Harmony was being a little sarcastic. ;)

The FDA tested 18 carts from 2 suppliers, nJoy and Smoking Everywhere. The FDA is currently being sued by both SE and nJoy.

Hey Lacey, Per table 1 of the FDA report the 555 high was the cartridge that had DEG in the ingredients....when it was simulated vaped...no DEG (as per table 2 of the FDA report). So the DEG never made it out of the cartridge and into the simulated vaping device. ;)

Sorry, I don't have a link because my copy of the report was saved as a pdf file on my desktop. :p

And IMHO, this is HUGE considering we aren't drinking the juice... we are inhaling it. Is it reasonable to say if you get the liquid on your lips then you are at risk to intake DEG and incredibly low levels? Yes. Inhaled. No. I will go back and look again tonight.

Thanks for the insight on this ;)

Pfizer also makes: Nicotrol Nasal Spray, Nicotrol Inhaler, Nicotrol Gum and Nicotrol Patches.
