Ive spent hours on here tonight. Lots of info. Damn! I bought a eGo-CE4 Starter kit 2 weeks ago.
Now im already looking at getting my first mod. Im Torn, theres lots of discussion. Its almost like the (dont want to offend anyone or start a separate discussion) Chevy vs Ford debate.
My choice is simple. In no particular order of course.
1. ProVari
2. eVic

I didn't last that long after trying a CE4/eGo combo. I got a eVic 2 for $59.95 during Value Vapers big sale and a couple of ProTanks. I wouldn't pay more than that for one now. This is probably going to quickly become yet another Provari thread, so I won't even go there. I did discover dripping with a disposable atty on the eVic, and it ruined everything else for me. I wanted to drip all day, even when driving.

Within another ten days, I had an all day, one-handed dripping system--the REO Grand with a Reomizer 2.0 (aka RM2) rebuildable dripping atomizer. Within yet another ten days, I had my second, this time with 3 RM2s. Visit us in the Reos Mods forum for more info.

I was in the same boat as you not too long ago.

Although a ProVari was NEVER in my shortlist due to price, I did decide on an eVic. The eVic has one major advantage over all others when you're coming from an eGo setup... it comes with a nice 2600mah battery and charges via USB - also allowing passthrough charging. Like NicoHog, I also got mine during ValueVapor's big sale. You'll be hard pressed to find one at that price right now. I have since also acquired an iTaste SVD, and while I like it, I still prefer my eVic.

Innokin SVD for $37 at FastTech.com is a stellar value, just sayin'.

This is a good value for a basic mod. However, this is only the express kit. No 18650 tube. While the short-tube does work, it doesn't look as good or fit as well with an 18650 battery. If you're going to get the SVD, you're better off with the full kit for $60 which also comes with 2 iClear 30's.

$60.08 INNOKIN iTaste SVD Telescoping Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette Set - w/ 2 x iClear30 atomizers and heating cores at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

EDIT: also, being that the OP only has an eGo kit right now, you can add $30-$40 to whatever mod you're pimping for batteries and a charger.

Provari over evic anyday. evic is very fragile. Yes it does have a lot of features and cool gizmos (most of which I've fond I dont use nor care for). If I had the $ I'd get a ProVari...probably could have bought 10 of them by now with all the junk mods I've had.

Reo is also on my list if I ever have the cash. And now the Futura...zomg Just my opinion but skip the eVic. I'd rather have held on to my Sigelie ZMAX than bought the eVic.

What is the difference between eVic 2 and eVic? I'm considering an eVic and would like to compare the two. Thanks!

The first eVics had heads that would loosen and fall off. They fixed that with a new model where there are two screws holding the head on. Most of the old ones should be out of vendor stock now, but it's worth checking, especially at B&Ms which may still have old ones.

LOL, that was going to be my recommendation as the next step. That's what I recommend to all of my students (college) who are trying to quit smoking. The only problem in the long-run is that they're a battery: when they die (and they will) you have to replace the whole thing at $20+/pop. The advantage of the other mods, such as Vamo, Zmax, etc. is that when their batteries go, you only have to spend $5-$10 buckes to replace them. I have a provari and a Reo (as well as a whole of others, as you can see from my signature, lol), and I enjoy them quite a bit. Would I recommend that you shell out $150-200 for them? It depends: if you are vaping solely as a means to quit smoking, probably not. Stick with your twists or maybe a Vamo, which runs around $50 bucks (even less if you find them in the classys).
