I've heard it works on Kanthal wire for temperature control. I heard about this company a few weeks ago, from a FB advertisement/contest which everyone was complaining about because the contest was not followed through. I've read where there have been delays on bringing this mod to market.

Amazed again on ECF | E-Cigarette Forum I wrote this "review" in this manner to keep it from being moved to the review section, as it would get more advertisement in the general section. The picture I used was also in front of a screen for the Heavens Gift Summer contest.

Yesterday was really the first I heard about the Asolo and it looks great and I've been on the Facebook site to see the comments and watched a video. It looks a promising device in an upward step in the wonderful world of vaping.

I smoked for 50 years with my hubby who developed asthma and copd so since I couldn't smoke around him anymore, I tried everything to quit smoking and didn't succeed until I wandered into a local vape shop and they set me up with a nice little starter kit and three flavors of e juice including a ry4 tobacco ejuice. I came home and I loved it and best of all I can vape around hubby and friends.....what a great thing vaping is. I am still amazed by the satisfaction I get through vaping and I've been vaping for about 1-1/2 years. Each new device I get gives me better taste and satisfaction.

The only reviews I did were on different e juices at a variety of vendors sites. I did beta test for computer software companies in the past

I have no experience with temperature control mods but would be happy to test it for you. It looks simple and straight forward. My opinion could be valuable to you for the simplicity of the mod from a new person to temperature control. I'm excited to see the Asolo hit the market place

I checked out the asolo and would be very interested in trying it, although I am sure it will be out of my price range. I really like the dual batteries and cannot wait to try TC...

B) What made me passionate about e-cigs.

My first experience was with a smoke shop special. After going through two of those I decided to look online for better. I found ecf and a 510T and life changed. Having a community to get info and a good quality apv hooked me and I have not looked back.

I would love to beta test the Asolo, I only heard of it because of your contest thread but once I got here and watched the video on it I have to say I am impressed. I recently bought an IPV3 Li with Temperature Control and am still getting used to it but so far it has been wonderful to not have to worry about dry hits. I do find Nickel wire to be a little annoying to work with so the Asolo would be great for me with TC on Kanthal builds. That's really a game changer right now for the Temp Control mods, most do Nickel or Ni and Titanium but to add Kanthal will really open the market to all the people who have been hesitant about getting into Temp Control.

What is Asolo TC MOD?
200W Asolo Temp Control Box Mod: New Concept Device with "Taste Control"

1. As a temperature control mod, Asolo works differently with any of existing VT mods. Not like other VT mods, setting a temperature into the mod and it will keep the temp steadily, Asolo actually accept a 'point' not a number of temperature. So when you are vaping with Asolo, and feel the taste of vapor is just fit your need, right at that moment, set it to the mod, and it will remember it. Then it will try to keep it steadily.
2. Based on Asolo’s design, it can support almost all the coil material in the market. Ti, Ni, Ni-Cr, Ti-Cr, Kanthal A1, etc. It’s the first and only one that can support Kanthal in the market so far.
3. Asolo is able to detect that the tank is out of e-juice and alert the user with 0.3 sec. It will automatically stop working to avoid burn taste.

A. My opinion is I am skeptical. Too much electrical noise in the environment to make Kanthal TC workable.

B. I quit smoking and enjoy vaping more.

C. Best dual coil RTA?

The trick is its not using a resistance based tc for the kanthal, its using a fancy algorithm, kind of like the smok m80 but apparently better done, since it seems you can fine tune it to your liking.

I'll believe it when I can try it lol. The difference between an enjoyable vape and a smoking crater where the wick used to be can be detected with a Kanthal coil. Beyond that, I'm headed to the Show Me state lol.

i have the heat vape and the 40 watt i stick havent had alot of time to play with them as i would like yet!

What made me passionate about vaping was several of my friends had switched to vaping and quit smoking.
That intrigued me. I was never interested in trying the pharmacutical offerings to quit.

Althouugh I have never tried a TC mod I like the idea of it.

I did a beta test and review for the V4L Zues a long time ago but I am unable to find the post. It was not that great of a review.
By that I mean I was very new to vaping at the time and not familar with all of the information that one should include in a review.
I could definately do a review sharing a new TC mod users experiences, likes and dislikes.

I have the Asolo... and I love it... I have not figured out the "HOW" behind what they are doing... but, I do know enough to know that they are not doing the "typical resistance measurement through the wire as it ramps over temp" like most (if not all do with Ni & Ti wire). At least not when it comes to the "Kanthal TC mode". If I had to guess, and that is just what it is at this point.. a guess... My bet is on the "learned preference taste" Hit/Pull that has to be done before going into the "TC MODE". Again... My guess is that they remember your ramp time along with voltage and then use those numbers to clamp or lock the fets from breaching those "learned" values... I can see and feel in the pull/hit that they are adjusting the wattage at the end. I am sure there are some that will scream that this is not "real or live" Temp Control. Hog Wash I say... They are adjusting the wattage being pushed through the coil during the ramp time of the coil, and in doing so, they are effectively adjusting the coils temp in an effort to keep from burning the cotton.... ie, TEMP CONTROL... even if it is not the way they do it with Ni or Ti. In fact, I am glad to see they are not trying to control it like Ni or Ti, cause Kanthal's Resistance does not change much over temp. So anyone trying to control temp based on the Resistance, might as well try walking on water also. Again... this is a guess, but I think I am close on that. What I have no Clue about is how in the world they are able to know when the wick/cotton is dried or drying out. This one has me stumped for sure... lol Regardless, They are doing it, and doing it well in fact... (yeah!!!)

As for your question about "older tanks"... I see no reason that this would not run any of them as long as it can be attached... same as any other Box Mod. It will still be limited to the laws of physic, and ability of the batteries in side. So you are not going to be able to lets say magically Jump Start your car with this Mod. However, I don't know of any "production/normal/mainstream" tank/RDA that would be so demanding that this could not handle it either... (and if there is one, I am thinking it is actually hooked up to the car battery that you are trying to jump start)

All of this being said... my two cents... I would not slap a CE4 on top of this Box Mod... would it work... yeah, probably so... (see no reason it wouldn't). But I have to point out that you don't need, or want for that matter, to push 30 plus watts over that little... tinny... silk tread of a wire.... To me, this would be like buying an F250 super duty with a snow plow just to clear the "sidewalk" in front of your mailbox. Could you do it.. sure, would it get the job done, yep,... but the whole neighborhood is going point and ask if you have ever heard of the word "over-kill"??

Hope that help you or others... I am not a vendor or reviewer... Just a guy that could not wait... and I have to say I am very pleased so far... 8)

I had not heard of Asolo until today, but I watched the video in the first post, then visited IJOY Asolo 200W VW/TC Express Kit W/O Battery, and it looks very impressive. I love the "T" button!!! And the fact that TC can work with Kanthal!!!

I started vaping because I developed a persistent hack. I tried cig-alikes, but could not quit smoking. I became truly Passionate about vaping when I found ECF and such a supportive Vaping Community. I learned a lot from the people here, made a lot of really great friends, and started sharing everything I could. Because of ECF and some of the friends I made here, I was able to stop smoking with the combination of a VV 18650 Mod, a Glass Tubed RBA, and DIY 100% VG Cinnamon Red Hots. I enjoy giving back as I can.

I watch about every YouTube Video Review that comes out. I like to stay informed of the new products and new technology. I've been doing that for 2.5 years now. And I have recently started making reviews as well.

This one is quite detailed. I can be brief and to the point, if desired, but I really like to go into features, explain details, and show off a product.

I have a Heatvape Invader Mini V2 50W and a Youde Zephyrus that I use with 28g Ni-200. I built a 0.15Ω Dual Coil with CelluCotton and Vape it at 30W and 450°F. My normal Vape had been 12.5W on a 1.8Ω Kanthal Single Coil in an RDA with CelluCotton and I would take about 4-second puffs. With this TC setup, I can get the same experience with 2-second puffs, in an effort to extend the battery life at 30W. The Flavor and Vapor are Excellent. Of course, the Flavor, Vapor, and Clouds are even better with longer puffs.

The Heatvape Invader Mini V2 50W uses a single 18650. I think the fact that the Asolo 200W VW/TC uses two 18650s in Series would help increase Efficiency and give longer Vape times. And the concept of setting the Temp you want is unique to the Asolo 200W VW/TC. I'd really like to work with it and experience this first hand, and be able to give my feedback and impressions.

While I do use High Watts on occasion, and I definitely use them to the full extent possible in a Review, my every day Vape tends to be between 12.5W to 30W.

I just bought 5 of those that are premade. I now own 2 TC tanks with coils, a 5-pack of Claptons, wire, cotton and everything else I need EXCEPT for the mod! Crazy how I have held out this long. I was just looking for the right one to jump in with! Did you build that Clapton yourself?

"It is most like the YIHI SX mini temperature control box mod" That is the mod I was determined to start TC with, but the screen on the SX mini is so darn small I held off. I had an idea of what I wanted and I love the SX mini, so I am very happy to hear that this mod, with its HUGE screen, is comparable!! Thank you for posting this.
