I was vaping 12mg for a long time and still smoking about half a pack. I bumped up to 24mg and that cut me back to about 4 a day. After a couple of weeks at 24mg I find myself back up to half a pack. What gives? Do I need to go higher? Will I get used to 36mg and still need to smoke? Looking for helpful advice.

It only takes one person to start a revolution.

See, this is where having an identical twin brother pays off. I had him vape increasingly higher and higher nic levels until he was a 56mg and we had to put him in the hospital. He did ok until about 42mgs when he started passing out and soiling himself but I didn't know if it was the flu or the nic so I had him keep going (had him keep going is maybe too strong a wording. He vapes 18mg normally and I didn't tell him I was increasing his dosage. He came out first, walked first, talked first, quit smoking and found vaping first. Basically got all the attention and I hate him. I don't want to kill him but he's a genius and I wouldn't mind knocking off 40 or 50 IQ points just to take him down a peg. When he wakes up out of the nic coma, we'll see what happens.) Anyways, I knew I could vape as high as 40mg and still be ok.

Going up to 36 is what got me off the stinkies. I stayed there for several months. Waited to decrease to 24 until my confidence was there. In other words, there's time later to worry about decreasing your nic. Try setting small goals - day/ week. Have a flavor that hits ya upside the head too. Getting a carto tank helped too. But now there are even better options, IMHO. Good luck. You got this if you want it :)

Sorry for your struggles.

I have a few questions, and I will share my experience.

Are the cigarettes you are still smoking the same brand you have been smoking all along?
If so, I recommend you replace them with cigs you don't like. Make sure they taste crappy. Maybe let the cigs you have go stale. Anything to make smokes taste bad.

Is the juice you are vaping tobacco flavored? Not a good idea if you are trying to quit cigs. You need to get as far away from anything that reminds you of tobacco. Try fruit. Try sweet. Try chocolate. Anything different than tobacco flavor. Distance yourself from tobacco.

I smoked about 30 a day of fairly strong tobacco, when I decided to vape to quit, I started off with 16mg juice. That 1st day I went a bit crazy and so I ran and got some 24mg juice. That stuff knocked me on my ..... I was so stoned. I only used the 24mg that one day, then diluted it down. I made sure I didn't have any of my regular cigs, and only had a few of some I didn't like. I only let myself have 2 or 3 a day for that first week.

About 10 days later, I lowered all my juice to 12mg. Still only have 1 or 2 cigs a day. Then I cut analogs out all together.

10 days later I reduced my nic to 6mg. That is where I am am now. I haven't had more than 2 cigs in the last 2 weeks. They taste terrible! They make me woozy. Vaping tastes sooooooo much better.

In my opinion, and thats all it is, my opinion, I think you are not reducing your nic level enough to curb your cravings. AND, you are picking up and using cigs too easily, too often. Each one of those nasty things you smoke makes it just that much harder to stop. There are devilish ingredients in that smoke that your brain craves. You need to get it out of your system.

What are you vaping with? Maybe you need more vapor, better taste, to satisfy you. Maybe look to upgrade your system. I switched to carto tanks. They put out a lot of warm vapor, and the flavor is better. (there is a bit of a learning curve to deal with, but for me it has been worth it)

I know it is hard. You have to be stronger. Have more resolve.

I still crave a cig. So I vape like crazy. I suck on this thing all day. It's like a pacifier. I don't care. It is working.

We are all rooting for you.

I have an emergency tank... just a Ce4. I used to smoke cigars (Swisher little cigars), basically cigar flavored cigarettes.

Whenever I have a bad crave I grab my emergency tank. It has a mix of Liqua French Pipe and a 555. It kicks the crap out of any urge. It has a hard throat hit and 2.4% nic (24mg).

Works well actually

Agree with the above. Switching to e-cigs takes quite a bit of resolve, since they are not regular cigs. You need to make a solid decision to switch, take the shortcomings as they are but stick to it ... hell or high water. Concentrate on what good you are doing and after a week or 2 the cravings for cigs will lessen.

Good luck!

Whip up some 48mg juice and make your headspin. You will be so sick you wont even think about analogues :vapor:
I was going to suggest this, though it won't make you sick unless you vape the crap out of it. One or two hits should get you over any analog craving. I actually started out at 50mg and worked my way down to 30

I started at 36 MG and dropped down within 2 weeks to 24MG and now ordering 18MG or lower. That got me off the smokes....I cant stand tobacco flavored juice anymore and that was my first purchase(along with a bitter chocolate) desert flavors, teas, coffees and unusual fruits are now my preference and I am looking for floral as well.
I start with higher nic in the mornings and drop levels as the day progresses...but if I need more I will switch tanks to get the jolt I need....I do not want to go back to smoking.

OP, I have been right where you are at now. I would recommend getting a 30 mg liquid and just having it on hand for times when you want to grab an analog. If you can suffer threw 72 hours of that you can smoke an analog on the 4th day. 90% of us who tried an analog after 3 days only vaping nearly vomited from the taste. I would not recommend going to 48 mg. It may make your throat raw and make you feel sick to your stomach. I smoked 2+ packs a day of Marlboro light 100s and I was able to go from 24 up to 26 to stop the cravings. Also what device are you using and what delivery system? If you need an upgrade you may not even need to up your nicotine. Larger batteries with a good performing delivery systems create lots more vaper per drag so you get way more nicotine per drag. I hope this helps and good luck. Keep us posted :)

FWIW.....My ADV is 24mg....I take a few toots on 36mg throughout the day but I know if I used 36 for my ADV, I'd be floating on the ceiling!!!8-o
Kudos to anyone who can do 36mg and over on a regular basis...I just got a bottle of Nicvape 100mg nic liquid that I intend to use for DIY projects...I get woozy just thinking about adding some of that to my 24mg ADV for extra "kick"....!!!
All that said.....I went to vaping to quit TOBACCO.....NOT the nic...My mantra is: "Will I make it through this day? YES, I C.A.N.!! (Caffeine, Adrenaline and Nicotine)....;)
Happy (vaping) Trails!
