26650 Battery

How is everyone doing? I have been doing a lot of research to try and find a thread that would best suite what I am looking for. Maybe due to not enough due diligence or just blindness I was unable to find one that really answered the question I was looking for.

I will be buying the Hades mod in the coming week. (Clone of course) One for me, and one for my brother in-law. We have been vaping for a couple months now. He has a Ego-twist, I have a Evic AVP. We both want to get into dripping and the world of mech mods.

This is the one I'm getting. Hades mod And my brother inlaw wants the gold plated one. They seem to have really good reviews for the price but if anyone has any experience with them that would be great to hear as well.

I did some research on Ohm law and honestly that was the part that scared me the most. (I hate laws when it comes to any kind of science but Ohm's law was relatively easy to understand.) I just did not understand the last part of the video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mHLvtGjum4

Anyway back to the real question at hand sorry for going off topic. We want to get into RDA's. I just want to make sure I am getting the absolutely best battery possible for sub ohming. Nor myself or him plan on building any ultra low res coils for awhile but I want to make sure we have the ability to do so when the time comes.

So if anyone can point me in the direction of the best 26650 battery for modding with a decent mah I would greatly appropriate it.

Thanks in advance. :) Also, been vaping for about 2 1/2 months now absolutely love everything about it no analogs for me. :)

Don't get a 26650 to sub ohm. They are a generation behind when it comes to high amperage batteries. Get an 18650 mod, I would recommend, https://www.fasttech.com/p/1448300

Get your self some Sony VTC5's and be merry.

Also, just a personal opinion, its really annoying when people make posts in bold/other fonts other than stock.

I would like to listen to that I truly would but I'm just in love with the way the Hades looks.

Alright, but what would be the best battery avalible for them?

Like you said personal opinion. I'm use to using it for college essays, plus I like the way it looks, gives my post a little uniqueness.

i just ordered 2 of these, i don't have any experience with them yet, but i'm going to find out soon...i have 2 Sony's but they have been discontinued and i think the only other choices are E-Fest which personally i wouldn't buy i just don't like-um and the other choice is MNKE.

the only info i know is what RTD has listed, they are a very reputable Vendor for batteries and i have always trusted them and do not think they would sell anything but the best choices.....i'm taking this gamble and going for it......i'm NOT recommending these batteries just sharing info and you can take it from there....happy hunting

KeepPower IMR 26650 4200mAh 50amp - RTD vapor

more info found, spec sheet in pic's on the right side

What kinda wacky college do you go to where you write entire essays in bold? I mean even amongst all the spelling and grammatical errors in your post, I digress.

They only make 18650 Sony VTC5's. The best battery your probably going to get for a 26650 device is the MNKE 26650 which has been tried and true, there are a few other companies producing batteries of the like that you can look into, for instance Panasonic is producing one aswell as a few other less known producers. The reason I say stick to 18650 is because not many 26650 batteries are even safe to do serious sub-ohm vaping.

You're right, I don't use bold in my essays. When I said that I was referring to the Times New Roman. I don't see the need to tell me how my post annoy you, or anything along those lines. If reading my post bother you so much don't read them.

Haha your posts don't annoy me, just annoy my eyes, and I still absolutely want to help you.

got the batteries today, got some bad news; they are 1/8th inch longer than the Sony's and will not fit properly in the Hades without auto-firing....i did use 2 o-rings on the bottom switch and got them to work using a 0.6 build yet i had almost NO throw, i DO NOT RECOMMEND them for the Hades.

have the Helmsman coming Monday in the Mail, going to try with it, sure hope they fit properly

Are you referring to those 50 ampers?

To the OP:

(I hate that font and formatting. Plz stop <3)

MnKE 26650 is probably what you want. They are tried and true but you will only be able to safely go down to ~.21 ohms, whereas with a 30 amp 18650 you could do .12

To calculate amps, and everything related to ohm's law (which I know very little about myself), ignore the youtube explanations, etc. Use a website like this:

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

Or this:

www.ohmslawcalculator.com

(I prefer the second one but it's down right now)

The maximum voltage your battery will be firing is 4.2 volts fresh off the charger, so punch that in as your voltage. Then punch in your resistance in the resistance box. Then hit calculate. It will then show you the amps in the amp box. (The MNKE batteries have a 20 amp limit. If you punch in 4.2 volts and .21 ohms in the boxes from the website above, you will see that you get 20 amps. That's as high as you want to go.)

There are also ohm's law apps that will calculate it as well.

You'll probably be fine as long as you don't go below a certain ohm rating mentioned in my previous post

Right now the only one that's been used and tested and proven is the MNKE 26650 with the 20 amp limit

What makes you recommend this one?
If you were to get a 18650, the nemesis is a classic. It functions well, and the one off of fasttech is cheap, popular, and fairly functional as well.

I've heard good stuff about this battery, just wanted to make sure it was the best for what I needed.
Can't go wrong with a vtc5 if you're doing 18650. VTC4s work just as well and are cheaper, but have less capacity. (I would just opt for vtc5)

Like you said personal opinion. I'm use to using it for college essays, plus I like the way it looks, gives my post a little uniqueness.

While I am sympathetic to your reasoning, it is a bit hard to read. Maybe try enlarging it?

Also... if you really must have VTC5 performance with your Hades, you should be able to run one of these...
$1.96 18650 to 26650 Battery Converter - black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Kind of defeats the purpose... BUT... if you like the form factor of the Hades, its a way to still get 18650 performance. I have one on its way and should be able to confirm that its fine with an authentic Hades... i'm not sure if any clones are built slightly different (especially at the switch side). By inspecting my Hades, it looks like the plastic part that hold the battery off the switch connection will still function properly with a VTC...That would be the only problem I foresee... and maybe some rattle from the converter... we'll see. For me, I'd really only use it when building some ridiculous build on the cerberus for kicks...

......@HilseeJ, yes i am referring to the Keep Power 26650 - 4200mAh 50A batts, they are too long for the Hades like between 1/8" to 3/16th and just do NOT fit properly without Auto-Firing......i tried adding an O-Ring to the top-cap & to the switch and could not make connection, then took the O-Ring off the top-cap and put both on the switch and it works now but i have hardly any throw.....the Hades just doesn't offer the adjustment needed without modification........so now i am hoping the Helmsman does, i will post the results when i find out (monday or so).

as for battery performance of the KP 50A, i been running them all day now with an 0.6 build and having no issues whatsoever and the battery life is fantastic.

the KP batteries i purchased were from RTD a very reputable Vendor, but you never know i guess...

been using a 0.44 build for the last 2 hrs with the KP Batts and all is smooth and cool so far, no battery heat and plenty of :vapor:

i still do NOT RECOMMEND these Batteries for the Hades!
just sharing info

Just confirming that this converter works just fine in the Hades... However, it fits in one direction, but not the other (due to different sized o-rings on each end?)... Either way, just reporting that it works and is nice and snug...
