28g twisted. Double or single?

Because I was an idiot and ordered four rolls of kenthal 28g 100ft now I am realizing it is impossible to wrap a wire even with the coil jig tool at size 2. Too thin. Too difficult.

I did the cheap method using a pen and a pliers to twist a small the wire

Even when I twisted it the coil jig kept not grabbing the wire. It had to be done manually.

And while writing this I found my answer

I was referring to the Kuro Concepts coil jig .*click to see link*.. the one that looks like a pen.
if you can do SINGLE strand fresh from the roll please show me ... i had to twist it and still i couldnt do it.

Be sure the screw is put in closest to the hole in the cap.
I found the clones have a loose, pin to cap hole tolerance, which can make the wires overlap.
With the authentic Coil Master, I can wrap single 32ga.
Don't put any pressure "in" with the cap, just turn around...

I am not sure. Maybe i am doing it wrong.

I have both screws in both holes and they are both as tight as they can go in. Yet when I try to wrap it doesnt pull it starts to go over itself.

You only need one screw in the cap.
Try doing a starter wrap by hand, then continue with the cap.
Using no "pushing" pressure on the cap.
It should wrap twisted wire without issues.
If all else fails, grab a screw driver and wrap "old school"

+1 only one screw is needed. If looking they are at different distances from the center, closest is for smaller gauge and farthest from center is for the larger gauge (diameter) wire.

Hugh, 28awg is the LARGEST wire I use and 2mm is the most common ID I wrap. 2.8mm is the largest id. I have never had such issues with thin wire. But then I use a homemade version of the Artistic wire gizmo coil maker or a simple drill/screw driver as a form.

You are going to offer legit help with this guy and all he will do is argue back with you. I could easily produce a long list of other threads where he does that and when you tell him a better way, well lets just say that is when the fur starts to fly. When he bought wire from a junk yard and wanted to vape with it is when I gave up. The OP is trouble!

I use a simple step mandrel for coils. It's just too easy.
