After about two months of waiting for it to arrive here at my deployed location, I finally had a chance to try it out. (theres nothing like receiving a care package while deployed, its like Christmas as a kid! But when it has new vape gear inside..its even more exciting)

First off the quality/ fit/finish is amazing. I'd say its a few levels above the ERA.

I ordered the MB 510-510 adapter because I wasnt sure if it needed it. Turns out, it wasnt needed for my VVG. The adapter itself is verv nicely made and has as turnable "sleeve" to take up any extra space.

Ive always used Super T drip tips and found they fit very tight on the Chalice, I never have to worry about accidentally pulling it off.

The coil set screws are a unique design and are not readily available. The good part is you dont need any tools to use them. I just use my finger nail to tighten them down. Nail biters may have an issue here.

I have a huge pet peeve with leaks. The Chalice itself doesnt leak, but....if you leave it tilted toward the air hole too long you will get a small amount of leakage through the air hole, again a SMALL amount.

Another thing I noticed is once you unscrew the Chalice to expose the coil, screwing it back on will leave a ring of juice around the outside. Its not that much, but enough to notice.

Performance is good so far. Its impossible to flood since it automatically sucks any extra juice back into the bottle, leaving just the right amount on the wick/coil. But I have noticed a downside to this great attribute, over time, the juice in the bottle will start to get contaminated with the juice from the coil, turning your juice dark. I only noticed this when I have less than 1ml left.

This is what Ive noticed so far. Im still working on building the perfect coil, but so far, the Chalice is here to stay.

Good review. Thanks. I don't have the V2 Chalice, but I use the V1 Chalice ALL the time. It's my #1 RBA. I can't get hold of a V2 Chalice, or it's what I'd have on my other VV Grand. I keep hoping you find some RBA that is perfect....and that will give you the flavor you want. (I'm thinking of that HH357 vs. RBA thread of yours.)

Have fun rolling coils!

Thanks, I concur with your findings :D I ordered the adapter too just for future mods (you never know) and it is by far the most amazing adapter I've ever seen. Very nice design.

One of the main differences between the v1 and v2 are the screws. I like both of them for different reasons. The v1 screws stay put when your coiling so less chance to loose them vs the v2 screws that you have to remove completely. For that the v1 gets the nod ..... but the v2 screws hold the wire much better once installed with the sheet metal type threads so the v2 gets the nod there.

Either version is a top notch atty IMHO .... and my lord if you need an adapter that little guys is pretty awesome. Even the mod master himself who loathes adapters would like that one I think. Of course I think I payed and extra 20+ bucks for it so it ought to be impressive for that price.

I've probably vaped about 55 gallons of juice through my V1 Chalice - LOL! I haven't seen any juice-darkening since I switched to cotton ball wicks, probably because they get changed out every day or two.

I've never noticed either and I still use silica wick. And I use plain nic in one of them. Nothing like what you see in a genesis set up, that can get gross if your over wicking :( I've tried the cotton a few times and like the idea of it but it just didn't work out for me.

I have the V2 as well and use cotton ball wicks. I do get the darkening of the liquid but only with a NET naturally extracted tobacco juice I am partial too. It is a real wick killer. Sometimes can not even get 2ml out of a wick with it but it is sooooo tastey. I just switched it over to silica today to see if that does any better with this particular juice.

Just an update: Since I made this thread the Chalice has been in the drawer....Until about two weeks ago! I decided to give it a try again. Im using the pre-made 2.5 coils from Avidvaper for now. They come with silica wick about 4in long which I trim down to about 1cm to fit in the Chalice. So far the coils are performing just as good as the coils Ive made myself in the past, which still leaves me with 1 issue: FLAVOR. No matter what I do, I cant seem to get the same flavor ratio that I did with HH357s. Vapor is no issue, its always the flavor. Ive tried bamboo, cotton, silica etc etc., air hole size/position. Flavor is always mute. Im trying to find a reason NOT to buy HH357s anymore, but RBAs are sort of making me want to!

(Ive been using the same juice for over a year, I can tell when something aint right!)

Damn, that sucks Mike. I love my chalice. But I love my RM2s too. I just so happen to know a REOnaut looking for a chalice...

Yeah I considered selling my RBAs before, but I firmly believe the Reo/Chalice combo would probably last a lifetime together. I never tried the RM2, but I do have an ERA that I might be willing to part with.

As for the juice contamination thing, yes its still an issue. When its new its a medium-brown color, by the time the bottle is almost empty, it looks like used motor oil. It really doesnt bother me that much, but it does happen. Its probably due to the design of the RBA, but I think its worth mentioning.
