i own both a Joye 510 as well as a Pure Smoker Icon (w/ Low resist addie). Ive noticed that in my 3.7v Icon when i vape my e-juice tastes burnt while in my 510 its fine i was just wondering if anyone else noticed something like this and/or has a possible solution. ive used the same addie with both since i always like my addies to match either e-cig i decide to use that day.

If it tastes different using the same atomizer on two different batteries, then the difference has to be the power (the batteries). I'm not familiar with the Icon, but it's not recommended to use a LR atty with regular batteries, like a standard Joye 510. They just don't have the ability to put out that much power, and it's really hard on them. I've been reading reports of the big eGo type batteries dying prematurely due to LR attys, as well.

The only LR I've tried was with an AW brand "high drain" 18650, and a regular 18650, and they both tasted burnt to me.

I have noticed that LR atties have to be near flooded to avoid a burnt taste. Severic, the reason the LR attie operates better (no burnt taste) on your regular 510 battery is that the battery has a low mah rating. Basically, the battery doesn't have enough power to get the LR attie up to full roast (the source of the burning taste). In my experience with LR atties getting a good (non-burnt taste) vaping experience is touchy at best. If I were you, I would try the new Joye 306 attie (has the same thread pitch as a 510). The Joye 306 attie seems to produce a thicker and warmer vapor as compared to a regular resistance 510 atomizer. I have not tried the Joye 306 myself, but I have heard good things from reviews. Here is a hyperlink to a review on the atomizer: Review of the Joye 306 Atomizer from ElectroNicStix.com .

Hope that this was of some help.

The only 14500 battery that has high enough continuous maximum discharge rate to meet the amp draw requirements of a LR atty is the AW14500 IMR. If you are using LR atties with your Icon, that is the battery recommended by most experienced users. This battery will provide more power to your atty than just a standard 510 battery and you need to make sure to keep the atty nice and wet without flooding it. The burnt taste should go away.

in other words, the lr 510 is fine on the 510 because there is less power and you get a nice smooth vape. The Icon, if it is anywhere near true 3.7v, it can get hot fast. I have the same experience and only use LR if i want a powerful vape and i only take a few tokes on a freshly dripped atty, then you need to redrip to keep it from tasting burnt.

IMO you need to use a reg. 510 atty on the Icon for a smoother vape.
