Still on my quest to find the perfect configuration. I've always been a fan of the 801 atty, for one reason or another. So far, the Joye 302 seems to be the most reliable for me. But with 900mAh batteries, running 6v I still find myself changing out sets of batteries. So I went farther...

1800mAh 3.7v with a LR 801 was beautiful. But even keeping the atty constantly wet with no dry burns, I've eaten 2 of them this week with the XHaler, yet my 302's at 6v are as strong as ever after a month or two (I thought one was weak and dying, until I realized I grabbed one that hadn't been used yet and just had to kill the primer :) ). So I'm at a stand still again.

Any recommendations for a LR 801 for durability? I like having 3 batteries fully charged and knowing each one will last me all day.

I suppose it's probably not worth asking...atty's that last forever mean less orders, less revenue...but I'm about to be taking a large pay cut to go back to school and I'm a cheap ... :D

In the paraphrased words of Chris Rock... they have metal on the space shuttle that can withstand temperatures up to 50,000 degrees...you mean to tell me they can't make an El Camino without the bumper falling off?

I suppose I can't blame them...all the money is in the upkeep, not the initial sale.

I'm an addict, so I vape like crazy. I just don't want to change my batteries during the day. And I certainly don't want to blow an atty every few days.

Although I've had a standard 510 for a while now and use it every once in a while. Just pulled the bridge out because I drip and saw someone else posting about bridge removal. Two drops at 6v...lots of vapor, no leaking...interesting...

I appreciate you challenge of finding the right balance between charging batts/long life attys/vapor & flavor.

With the ongoing cost of blown attys that you seem to be encountering, I would choose to change batts more often and keep to the attys that last a long time.
I still have some of my original attys/510batts from Oct 2009 going. I don't mind having several so I can charge them often AND keep several flavors going.

Have you tried cartomizers? I have had good success with them although I am not vaping at 6v.
510's, juicebox, vapestack, & 5v mod are what I currently use.

I tried dripping and I did not like that constant filling and more than occasional leaking etc.

Here what Id do. If you like the 801 try the Ego cartomizer. They have a 510 thread but vape like an 801 on steroids. Really, I think the bridge is larger than an 801 imo.

Vapes like an 801 and not like a carto either. Like a 801 or 302 atty, but much more dense vapor.. I got some at goodprophets and I think Cignot sells them also..

I have used these at all voltages but prefer them between 5-6v. They hold a lot of juice. Dont have that taste of cartos and certainly pump out the flavor that I find cartos just dont have compared to reg attys. Give them a try. I dont think you will be disappointed in the least.

PS> they have a receed thread so you might have to use an adapter like 510>801 and then 801>510 so that these fit but they are sooo worth it..
Either that or change your batts and keep using hte 302's.
