Eh with my soldering skills, and actual craftyness I doubt it would be very exciting.

Well I had to air brush mine again. Messed the paint up on the first one.

Learnt my lesson though paints been drying for two days this time round. I will post pictures when I stick it back together. :)

Might like it better. Maybe.

BTW, what kind of paint are you using? Did you use a primer coat? I want to make one look really nice for a suprise for my wife... Previous uses of model paint didn't fair well with me.

I`ll list the exact paint when I post the new pic`s so I don`t say the wrong ones. The air brush paint is water based and non toxic and the lacquer is automotive out of a spray can this time around. The primer I will have to check for sure. Plus I want to make sure it sticks good yet.

I will get this up later today for sure though. :)

Hello and thanks for the nice comments and questions.
I have put together 4 more pictures with the how to on them trying to cover every step.
I also had to repaint my original paint job and tried to go flame but as you can see it still needs someone that can paint better, this is my 2nd air brush paint job.

List of the paint used and the paint seems to be stuck much better this time round. Although I did let it dry 2 days as I followed the paint instructions this time.
I might try the plastic paint that is also now available when I get around to getting it. They are limited on colors I do believe though.

Step 1= Sand it down with fine sand paper rinsed it under hot water and let air dry. "Do not wipe with paper towel. Seems to charge the plastic with static electricity and turns it into a dust magnet."

Step 2= Primer I used Rust-Oleum Automobile Primer. Fast drying and wet sandable.

Step 3= Airbrushed with Createx Airbrush colors which are water based and non-toxic I also used a small brush doing the flames somewhat.

Step 4= Clearcoat. I used Rust-Oleum Acrylic Lacquer Crystal Clear. Works great in my opinion applied 4 coats but Resulted in to shiny for good pictures.

I have used nail polish on this Nico Box mod here for those interested in other options. Works great except it needs to dry to get rid of the fumes a couple days.
The color Metal flake Blue= http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz17/_Connman_/E-cig Mod Pictures/NicoBoxMod.jpg

And now for the pictures. Hope you all enjoy this easy mod once again. :)

I just got my first set of carto's today, measuring them up against the 510 atty/cart, they are about the same size around, and a bit shorter, so I am guessing that I might be able to get away with putting them in with the spring still intact. I plan to keep the rubber caps on the ends so there won't be leaks (assuming it all fits in there with the caps on), and no metal will touch the contact points while it is being stored inside. Originally I was trying to think of a simple jucie box fix for this mod, I have a tiny pump bottle that is about the same size as a AAA battery, so it might work with a bottom feed, but I won't try to attempt that mod until I successfully complete the first mod. I am hoping the carto's will take the place of needing it to be juice fed, If I store an extra inside, and use one on top, swapping them out when one goes dry. The carto should probably last as long as the battery. I can't wait to get started on this mod!

Thanks for the updated photos and directions. I like the new paint job too. I love this little mod!

Thank you. I only wish I had made the flames more pointy though. Next time for sure.
For some reason I rush things to much like waiting for paint to dry (why I had to re-paint it) and fine detail (Why No pointy Flames)

I must learn patience can be rewarding. :)

I have short patience and am a "right now" kind of gal ;) most of the time too. It has been really hard not to dive into modding, making mistakes and costing myself more money breaking stuff trying to make it work. I have been watching and learning, and collecting parts, now I feel ready to take this first mod on. I will post my results when I get it working. I ordered 2 lighters just in case I mess the first one up. If I don't, then I'll have another to mod to make for my boyfriend. I am still thinking of that juice bottle mod, but it is still a bit beyond me, how to feed the juice through the bottom of the atomizer properly. I am going to keep researching that one for a while longer. These carto's are working out nice so far. I hope I continue to like them after a few more days of use. They are much easier to fill and deal with than the regular cart. IMO

I did it :)

One wire and it works! Thanks again for posting this, it's my first working mod! I want to paint mine up too, so maybe I will get some pics up after I do that.

*** I used a 510 connector, I tried the 901/808 but it was too short to fit in the camber securely and have contact with the - spring on the side.

Don't know how I missed this thread but that is one nice little fella you made there Connman, me likey.

Would be even more stealth if you could move the atty down inside and just have a small amount of the tip sticking out. Looks like plenty of room. Just would have to use a different switch setup, or let the case of the atty make the negative contact and use the same switch.

Really well done.

This is very good news.
Looking forward to any pictures of these that anyone would share.

My last paint job really stuck well and I didn`t end up personalizing it with my finger prints due to I let the paint dry for 2 days this time.

Hello, I am Dr. j0ker, I'm not a real doctor but I play one on the forums. I have some bad news for you sir. It seems you have a case of incurable Icantstopmoddingitis. We're sorry but there is no treatment for this but on a good note, you seem to be very successful at this illness.

Great job Connman!
Yeah, and it's getting better as you go along.

Icantstopmoddingitis is contagious, please wash your hands after each visit to the modders's forum.
