I'd love to see some pics! I'm interested in this mod as well, I just need to remember to order the lighters .

Maybe some shrink tubing or "liquid electrical tape" would work better than earplug foam?

Great idea with the wire, that stuff is pretty tough (my wife plays around with jewelry making sometimes).

Hello there quasimod,
I wanted to run into you again with this idea perhaps. It`s small and I think can be easily done into a 5 Volt.

I`d of finished mine as a 5 volt but need another battery yet.

Hey Connman! PM me anytime you want to talk!

That little mod is sweet, and I would much rather have a little 5 V beastie than a 3.7 V w/a juice pump (dripping is a 3 second operation with a modified ePump). I've been considering how to squeeze a couple of those 3V LiFePO4 RCR123a batteries into a tiny box...

Now, before we have a misunderstanding; I'm not a mod guy and I apologize if I've ever given that impression. My forum name is one that I've used since the '80's, and is completely unrelated to modifications of any sort. I've had some ideas, and I've been drooling to make some mods. Trouble is, I'm rarely home, and I had to wait until the weather got better so I could take it outside. I had my eye on the spare bedroom/office, but a friend had some problems and moved in. Then I burned a tiny little ¾" spot on my wife's nice, new dining room table. You can't even see it (if you put something over it), but she acts like I ruined the whole table! Heck, I bet lots of people put their centerpieces over towards the edge of the table, kind of towards one corner...

Pfff! Women.

I need to buy a house, so I can have a garage. Maybe next year.

cheers
My lighter mod wasn't hitting right, connection kept going dead so I redid my lighter mod last night soldering and all, wow what a difference hits everytime, I love it.

Here are some tips:
-I drilled some tiny holes in the casing on each side to allow more airflow, keeps the attie cool and to keep the condensation down a bit.
-I added a drop of solder to the spring end that conects to the battery to give it more contact with the batt
-@ the bottem of the lighter I pulled the second side metal battery coil end straight and then bent it a bit so that i could rap the wire coming from the atty connector around it before soldering (probably confusing to people reading this)
-drilled out the bottem of a cart to make a drip tip

I love this mod can't say enough about it. It's sleek fits in your hand very nice. I've fallen in love with it.

Hi dk2,
Wonder how this wire Glue would work on that spring? It does seem a little tricky getting it to grab the solder. I`d still solder it if possible but then apply some of this as well. I just haven`t heard anything on this glue yet.

Wire-Glue

Great you love this mod you made. They are nice and small. Would be interested in seeing pictures of this next one your making. Sounds interesting.

Right now almost nothing, besides the 10440. I'm working on fitting a liquid sample little bottle inside. If I won't succeed, I'll just put a charger here. Then I'll show the photos :) Right now it's pretty much the same as the original one from the first post, besides I've just attached the neck holder few minutes ago.
One thing I have to make for sure is to put a tube from some old cartomizer here over a connector: right now I have no control on dripping out liquid.

Thanks for the nice idea, Connman :)
Here goes mine:

Now I'm trying to fit the 2ml bottle in here to make a suck-a-ton inside this tiny thing :)

A suckaton takes a good bit of modding....just use a plastic sample bottle and the tubing from a cheap butane fireplace lighter and make it an auto feed
