I am wondering if I should keep the 510 connector with the broken o-ring, can it be fixed?

Do you think one of the 808 cartomizers would fit in there? I can order some 808 connectors. I will start with the 510, since I have adapters to use other atty's.

I`ve heard of the rubber being replaced but don`t know anything about it now.
Nor can I say if that 808 would fit inside. Sorry

If you guys plan on making a mod at the drop of a hat :)
having a small assorted pile of adapters and connectors is handy.
I have ordered from Heaven-gifts (China, with $15 EMS shipping).
You have to dream up enough stuff to order to make the shipping charge worth the trouble.
Some adapters I like are the 510 to 808 (I have a 7mmx0.5mmtap), the 801 to 510 adapter is massive lots of metal to work with for pressed in connections. Again, have to shop to make the order worthwhile.

I wonder if putting a small nail through the center then soldering the wire to the end of that would work?? I have a tiny nail that fits perfect and has a really flat head that would lay flush on the threaded side.

You might want to check this link in madvapes How to on building homemade atty connectors. You seem to have most of the parts repairing the one already.

The center conductor doesn't need to move that much, just enough compliance to make good contact, I bet the nail and some weak epoxy (the really cheap stuff) would be a good repair method. Or maybe the original contact and the epoxy.
If the contact is chrome plated rough the surface to be soldered, most are very solderable brass.

I will save the broken connector parts for later, I have one good one to use now, and just ordered a few more from Madvapes, if this mod works as well as it looks like it should, I might be making a few more, for friends or just to have for later. How sturdy is the button on the lighter? (that looks like a great lighter BTW, I might have to get a few more and keep one to use as a lighter )

You know it is a real nice lighter and would have liked one when I smoked.
Very easy to mod and the switch being a slide switch works real well.
The only thing with it is the clearance it has when it has the atomizer on it. It is close to making contact with the spring to the battery.
This could be easily fixed by cutting the thin shield that covers the hole where the atty sticks out but then it wouldn`t shut over if I cut any off so I didn`t and remove the atty if not vapping. I may still do this small cut but not sure yet.

If you cut the shield you wouldn`t have to remove the atty and could just leave it on. :)

Are you saying I have to be careful not to let the connector make contact with the spring? I can put a little apoxy putty in there to make a shield if it looks too close. I wonder if that epoxy putty would work as a replacement separator for the broken connector? It's moldable and then hardens after it sets up.

I like the idea of packing the atty inside when not in use, at least when carrying it around in my pocket or bag, then it just looks like a lighter, and is so compact. How long does your battery last between charges? I have a few of the same trustfire protected 10440s, so that is covered.
I really hope the cartomizer will fit in there, then I won't have to tote around much juice. After I got into all of this, and stocked up on a bunch of atty's and juice, and bottles, and all the other crap, I am starting to want to minimize the clutter back down, keep it as simple as possible. Luckily I have friends wanting to try stuff out, so I am either giving it away or selling it to them cheap so they can try it out. Not a bad way to recoup some $ after all my spending sprees.

Here is a picture of the part that is the slide switch. If you were to cut the fatter end the end to the right it would give you more clearance to the atty staying in place before activating the circuit.

First question answer. It`s just so it won`t accidently be turned on.

2nd question answer. If it doesn`t pass electric current I`d imagine it could be used but then also consider the safty of it chimically being you could be sucking in some of whatever gasses it lets off.

3rd Question answer. My batteries seem to last twice as long as 510 stock batteries I`d say. Think that would be close possibly.

Hope that helps some. :)
